El Patron Mexican Restaurant

This was our first time here and we really enjoyed it! Good service, nice atmosphere. Prices are good. The pitcher of sangria is definitely worth it! The ingredients were fresh and tasty. I don't think the shrimp tacos were all that great - just ok...Next time definitely the fajitas. They were fantastic! I'll be back.

El Patron Mexican Restauarant is the epitome of what I expect a Mexican Restaurant to be. From the welcoming staff to the cozy atmosphere everything is absolutely perfect here. My wife and I visited this location for the first time and were surprised how awesome this place is. We enjoyed a terrific dinner with Mexican Style Christmas music. The pricing is reasonable for both the meals and drinks. We ordered the Chicken fajitas and the Chicken Burrito. Both meals were perfectly made with a very nice presentation. The chicken was spiced just right and the meal tasted authentic. They even serve bottle Coca-Cola from Mexico. For desert we shared the flan and it sealed the deal that this is our favorite Mexican Restaurant in the area. I highly recommend trying this location as you will not be disappointed. Viva Mexico!

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant not just in Hunterdon County but quite possibly the entire state of NJ! Try their complimentary warm tortilla chips with delicious homemade salsa or try the awesome table side guacamole! You MUST try their scratch made margaritas to accompany your meal…we are a huge fan of the Hornitos tequila 😋 Do yourself a favor and order the Tacos al Carbon for dinner, you will not be disappointed! Make sure to ask for the house made habanero hot sauce! THE BEST…Be careful, very delicious but can be VERY spicy! They should bottle this sauce and sell it! I’ve tried ALOT of different things on the extensive menu and EVERYTHING has been phenomenal! From my kids who are obsessed with the kids menu items to my wife, who is in love with the grilled chicken taco salad, there is something to make everyone happy! If you have room , finish up your meal with the churros for dessert. Mouthwatering!! The wait staff here are super friendly and knowledgeable and the owner goes out of his way to make sure your visit is perfect! What are you waiting for??? Get to El Patron tonight!! I’ll probably already be there! 😀🤣

This is my family's go to for Mexican food. Their alcoholic drinks are so well made. The food is absolutely delicious. The wait staff is always so professional and very accommodating. We have been here a good 30 times and we have never had a bad experience. Totally recommended. Make sure you try their fried ice cream. It is the bomb!!!

Service was kind and helpful, large selection of foods on the menu and overall a good experience. Only downside is the outdoor seating, the location is right next to the highway, and you can hear the cars drive by. However the indoor seating is quieter and also well kept. Will absolutely visit again for another meal in the future

We road the Columbia rail trail with our e bikes, 22 miles round trip. Stop to ask a man and his wife about a good place to eat around there. They suggested El Patron. Not only did they recommend they join us for an early dinner. The food was awesome. We will stop by there again on our next trip to this area

Solid Mexican place, food is always on point. Enchiladas and tacos are normally my go to and I’ve never been disappointed. Really nice sit down place to with good decor and atmosphere. Probably some of the best Mexican food you can find in hunterdon county

The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the whole visit was super positive. I ordered triple Enchiladas (beef, chicken and cheese) and was so satisfied! The spices were just right and the accompanying beans and rice were authentic. My wife had the shrimp salad and loved it! The shrimp on top were fresh and the cut-up shrimp on the bottom were a pleasant surprise. My daughter had the steak tacos and absolutely loved them - steak was cooked just right, all ingredients balanced! (She wanted me to taste them but didn't want to give any up!)
We started with guacamole - which they made FRESH at the table and fried plantains - both fresh and delicious. We finished with three awesome desserts! Tres LeChes, Flan and Fried ice cream. Just a great experience all around!

Update.....I keep coming here and this is the best and most authebtic Mexican restaurant near 07882. If you're into Mexican drinks...their micheladas are on point!!!

I've been here twice in person and once for a pic up during covid. I must admit, out of all of the Mexican restaurants in the area, this is definitely the best...this comes for a Latino person. I've had various dishes and they all have very good flavor. They do not taste like a microwaved dish and for the most part feels authentic Mexican. The drinks here are not cheap but they do not cheap out on the amount of liquor that they give you. The staff has always been great here and I noticed that they take the time to speak to all the guests and make sure that they have all that they need. I overheard a customer say that they didn't receive their tortillas and the server apologized and went to get some right away. I definitely recommend this place. Good parking and very clean inside.

First time here and the food was really good. The ambience is good and staff was very professional. The person who served was very accommodating to our requests. Plenty of parking available. Clean restaurant.

Hands down the best Mexican restaurant in Hunterdon County. The service is very quick and the staff is friendly. The food is flavorful and well-seasoned. The portion sizes are generous. If you live within 30 minutes of El Patron, don't bother looking for Mexican food elsewhere.

Stopped in for take out. But will be back for eat in. The quality of the food was excellent. The portions were perfect. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Very good service and very good food. My personal favorites are the chicken nachos and the chicken quesadillas. And I can’t get enough of those chips that they don’t miss a beat putting at the table, favorite Mexican restaurant

we went back for a 2nd time to this restaurant and it did NOT DISAPPOINT. We had scrumptious luxurious and fresh guacamole tableside, entree's taco and enchilada for my partner & 2 Salty Margarita's each. For Dessert I had the flan & she had the tres letches cake - amazing! Prices were fine and we had a lot of fun talking to our waiter who is also from NYC now an expat living in Clinton. Bueno! We'll be back!

Best Mexican Grill Restaurant this side of the border!!! We celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary and decided to eat at El Patron on Monday afternoon on September 27 2021. We had tableside Guacamole made for us by our cute waitress and had these dishes there were exquisitely prepared. Tasty and the plating was fantastic. The bartender prepared our margarita's in festive bowl like cups that were not that strong but suited the meals well. The desserts we took home were tres leches cake (to die for) and FLAN - which was the best Flan we have ever eaten. We are planning to take out next time but until then we are eating left overs. We loved it. The wait staff is excellent and excited about working their jobs. The entire restaurant has a festive look and hand painted pictures on tables, backs of booths and chairs. We loved it! Felt like we were in Mexico. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Always a great meal at El Patron. Good drinks and food.

Shrimp quesadilla was great and super cheesy without a lot of fillers (except shrimp!)

I am selling a home in town, so before heading home (which is an hour away) I decided to stop and grab a quick bite with my little one and I cannot deny how delicious the food was! I looked up the reviews, decided to give it a try and ill definitely be coming back again when I'm back in town!

They never feel to make you feel at home and also serve you the best and most filling meals. And great cocktails!

Had the fish tacos and they were to die for. Fish was cooked perfectly, portions of rice and fried beans were good. Def. My go to option now if nothing jumps out at me.
Service was also superb. Drinks were brought very quickly, food came out hot. Server was courteous and answered all our questions diligently.

Have been here about 5 times now. Never a bad meal. I recommend the jalapeño margaritas they are fantastic, and the red sangria is pretty good also. But the food is amazing.
