A Cut Above Barber Shop

Great barber shop. The only place our boy will get his hair cut! They are all so sweet and feels like family as soon as you walk in. For both adults and kids i highly recommend. Btw we love the tattoo girl lol

I recently visited the shop for my haircut. Martina does a great job! She is quick and well versed in her profession and does a thorough job. Overall, I'm quite satisfied.

After searching for nearly two years for a solid barber shop, my search has finally ended! A Cut Above truly lives up to its name. Martina is the first person to cut my hair *exactly* how I wanted it. Great atmosphere and wonderful people. I intend on being a regular from here on out!

I should also note that they did a wonderful job on my 2 y.o daughter's hair the other month.

I took my 2 year old daughter here for a haircut and, even though my daughter was quite scared, the barber Martina did an amazing job. I can't believe how perfectly straight she cut the hair of my very active toddler! Geared towards men, they have comfortable leather seats, a wide variety if services, giant TVs, a cozy atmosphere, and very affordable prices. If you are looking for a consistent place to get your hair cut at, A Cut Above is definitely worth a try!

I've been going here 7 years now. This is what a guy needs - a place to get a haircut. They do styling too. Martina is great. They just finished renovations and I think they've got more features coming soon.
I even bring my daughter here to get her hair layered and cut. I've seen other kids there too.

This is a step back to the old time Barber Shops. Carlos and Martina make you feel at home offering coffee ,soda not to mention a great haircut. It's an enjoyable experience compared to the production line hair cutters. Very reasonable pricing as well!

Martina is the best. Though this is mainly a barber shop, Martina continues to cut my hair as she has for over 25 years! And it is a lot less expensive for me than a beauty salon!

I have been having my hair cut with Martina for several years now. Great shop and people. I have recommended to a friend who now makes this his "go to" barber shop. Good service at a reasonable price!

My experience with Cut Above Barbershop has been great. They just want to know what you want and they will get it done. They know that most of their clients want to go in and get out. I can say I've gone in with a frown but I leave with the biggest smile of my life!! I've been going for a year and I always go to Zach, I've never seen someone cut hair so eloquently like him. I've seen the shop before the renovations and I'm just amazed at the atmosphere, it really feels like a old fashioned barber shop. Can't wait to come in soon, keep up the great service.

This is the kind of place you forget your issues, have a laugh while getting a haircut. Everybody there from manager to barber will make you feel at home. If you get there early enough on a Saturday, you will experience Martina’s Cuban mix coffee, it will get your hear up and ready. For the longest time she has been trying to get me to stop dying my hair black, but you just can’t beat Pep Boys one Dollar black spray paint special. In closing, this is a great place for haircuts and styles, and I highly recommend it for all. Thank you for your services.

Best Barbershop around by far! Alyssa, Carlos, and Martina made me feel like a part of their family since I started going there a little over two years ago. Alyssa is an artist with the straight blade and scissors . Honestly the first time she cut my hair I told her to do whatever she wanted just make me look good and no other instructions. She did her thing and it turned out perfect and I've been getting the same thing every Friday ever since. I started just getting hair cuts and got talked into a hot shave one day and now i can't go a week without one. I highly recommend a hot shave for anyone who's never had one before. Fair warning though, good luck staying awake it's a struggle once the hot towel goes over your face. I've never left the shop without looking and feeling like a million bucks. Give them a try I bet you'll feel the same

Very comfortable atmosphere, clean, they offer me coffee or a drink any time I walk in , even had lollypops for my 4 year old son , accommodating very friendly. Have nice little selection of cigars as well. Plus best of all a terrific haircut!

Got my hair cut from Martina showed me a new style for my face, and received overwhelming complements. Have to admit was a little apprehensive cutting my hair here at first because of the retro look of the place, but now I'm there biggest fan told my brothers about the place and they have become CutAbover's too.
Was thinking of letting my dad into our little secret about the place just found out he's already a customer.
I guess this place is our new family hangout...

Walked in last minute since my primary barber was closed and needed a haircut asap. A woman cut my hair. Very outgoing personality. Kept it simple haircut 2 and 1. Straight edge blade for the back and edged the front with precision and accuracy. Very pleased with the outcome. $14 in total minus tip

My son's went for haircut. I called ahead, Carlos answered any questions about safety. Told me to come and see what they are doing. Boys went, were given excellent haircuts (they told the barber to do what they thought would look good) and satisfied both parents and kids. Thank you!

Really nice and professional people. The interior is gorgeous and just pleasant to be in. My husband got a haircut and beard shaping from a lady that did a really good job.

I'm particular about my hair. When I moved to South River 6 years ago, I still traveled back to Brooklyn once a month to get a haircut from old barbar because I couldn't find one here that cut my hair the way I like it. That was until I decided to try A Cut Above. I'm glad I did. I finally found a barbar here who does my hair to my critical satisfaction. Additionally the shop is decided like old barbar shops. Old style chairs. And they still use heated shave cream and straight razor to shave the back of my neck. Excellent job.

This was a very clean and put together shop. Martha Martinez is thehead stylist , great personality and a really warm atmosphere. Definitely be returning.
