Whitby Castle

Whitby Castle in Rye, NY is the absolute best & most perfect place for a wedding & we very highly recommend it as your wedding venue! We got married in March 2024 on a Saturday afternoon at Whitby & it was better than we ever could have imagined thanks to the breathtaking venue & all the amazing managers & staff. We looked at 10 wedding venues in Tri-state area before finding Whitby, & we knew we had to get married there the minute we saw it. First was the gorgeous castle & grounds (flawlessly manicured lawns on Rye Golf club & striking views of LI Sound), & how the venue provided accommodations for all weather types. Next was the wedding package, which included everything needed & was the best price for all options; we couldn’t find a better price anywhere.

From our first meeting w/ Niki, the Catering Sales Manager at Whitby, we knew we made the right choice. Niki handled everything w/ the venue throughout the process, including catering, vendors, amenities & all options available through Whitby. Niki took the time to get to know us & thoroughly explained the numerous elements to consider when planning our wedding. She made us feel as if she genuinely cared about us & our wedding (because she did). We later met w/ the Ops Manager, Ralph, about 3 weeks before the wedding & he was just as awesome. Ralph had all the particulars laid out for every aspect of our wedding & provided a comprehensive timeline & wedding plan. Niki & Ralph were incredibly professional & knowledgeable, & also exceedingly responsive & accommodating.

Weather was no concern on our wedding day because of how Whitby operates. They have complete & functional outdoor heating throughout the wraparound patio that hosted much of cocktail hour, despite it being high 50°. We had wonderful sun on morning of our wedding, but it was windy & our ceremony would be on colder side in afternoon. We did not want our guests to sit in the cold, so we had an indoor wedding, & it was beyond stunning. The magnificent arch windows in the reception hall gave us astonishing light & scenic views for the ceremony. Regardless of weather, they set up for both options, to have our wedding inside or outside. We thought this was amazing considering how unpredictable weather can be. Some venues tend to have multiple weddings to maximize space, but we appreciated that Whitby treated us as the main event.

In addition to astounding views & spectacular customer service, the entrées & various food courses were outstanding. I am not sure which our guests raved about more, the delectable food or marvelous views. We also have nothing but phenomenal things to say about Rosa, the bridal attendant at Whitby. Rosa was exceptionally attentive & helpful throughout the day. Niki, Ralph, Rosa, & our maître d', Gabriel, were all extremely organized & prepared for every scenario. There were so many moving parts & minute details involved in our wedding, but Gabriel was so on top of everything & made it a day to remember. The service was impeccable & all Whitby staff were tremendously kind & helpful. Nearly all our guests told us how it was not only the most beautiful & fun wedding they have ever been to, but the best party. Whitby gave us a wedding beyond our dreams. We couldn’t be happier w/ our wedding & we know it was all because of the venue & their fantastic team. We very highly recommend Whitby Castle as your wedding venue!

Niki Viera and Whitby castle are AMAZING! Recently, my husband and I attended our in-laws’ wedding and were obsessed with how beautiful Whitby was for their wedding. We have been working closely with Niki who is very attentive, answers e-mails/calls immediately, and never hesitates to offer her expert advice. She has made wedding planning so easy and has been so incredibly helpful, especially at our tasting as we picked menu options for the big day. Niki’s patience, care, and flexible nature makes her so easy to work with. She has a positive attitude and makes everyone feel at home in her presence. A new favorite venue for wedding photography! The castle is a stunning backdrop for a wedding ceremony. The back patio overlooking the golf is also amazing. And the staff always runs a smooth wedding day. Can't wait to get back.

I loved everything about this place. It was a beautiful property and a really elegant space. The food was excellent and the staff super friendly and professional. We attended a family wedding and truly enjoyed the ambiance and experience. It is definitely worth considering if you are hosting an important event.

Niki, Ralph, and all the staff were absolutely incredible. From the planning stages to the actual wedding day, everyone made things incredibly easy and seamless. Niki and Ralph made sure all of our needs/questions/concerns were thoroughly addressed prior to the day so that on our wedding day we just had to show up and enjoy everything! I got ready at Whitby that morning and I would highly recommend - we easily got in and we had plenty of space for all of our dresses / hair and makeup / and relaxing. Not to mention the beautiful room and lighting as a backdrop for our getting ready photos! Then after we returned from our wedding ceremony (at an offsite church) everything I had dropped off earlier in the week was perfectly set up so all we had to do was enjoy some drinks / snacks and get to taking our pictures. We even got to enjoy a little of cocktail hour! All of our guests were incredibly impressed with all aspects of the venue from start to finish. The castle itself was great and guests loved the different rooms and patio (which was warm and enjoyed by many guests despite being 30 degrees and raining outside). The food was amazing - guests loved the comfort food station, so many passed hors d’oeuvres, beautiful salads and dinner, and delicious Italian cookies and cake. The staff was so attentive and professional. All we can say is 1000/10 experience - I am so glad we booked Whitby Castle for our wedding!! Best day ever!

We had a fantastic wedding at the Whitby castle. The food and atmosphere were excellent and the assistance of Niki, Ralph, and Gabriel made the evening perfect. We would recommend this venue to anyone!

It's a lovely venue for weddings. Cocktail hour was on their wrap around deck overlooking the golf course. Dinner inside, a large lovely room with lots of windows and adjoining room was used for the bar /dance floor. My only complaint and this is common in weddings, the music was way too loud. Very annoying after awhile, I went to sit in the lobby for a break. No way to have a conversation without screaming at each other. It's not a rock concert where you came to just listen to the music. It's not necessary to be that loud and it muffles the sound.

Whitby Castle was the first venue we looked at for our wedding and after a tour and meeting we booked that day. The attention and service the staff gave to us was simply unprecedented. Throughout our engagement, I would email with random questions (a lot) and they were always answered right away. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, Ralph and his team were superstars - they made sure every single detail we wanted was achieved. The day and night of our wedding was absolutely perfect. We did not have to worry about anything. The food was incredible, the dance floor was the perfect size (214 people), and the service was 5 stars. I would absolutely recommend Whitby Castle to anyone who is looking to get married in Westchester.

We wish we could give Whitby Castle more than five stars! We just had our wedding there, and it exceeded even our highest hopes and expectations. Niki and Ralph were incredibly warm, responsive, courteous, and professional, from the contract to the moment we drove off at the end of the reception.

The food was exceptionally good, and it was plentiful. They also offered us a few extra food offerings (a couple special appetizers, a sundae bar with all the toppings you could ever want, donuts and apple cider that guests could take as they left, etc.) that were not at all expensive, and we got so many compliments from everyone for them. The whole event ran smoothly thanks to Ralph's work orchestrating it the whole afternoon and evening, and their server staff were also very professional and on the ball.

To say we feel we got our money's worth is an understatement, and we took advantage of the long holiday weekend to have our event on a Thursday, at a discounted price and with a lower minimum of attendees. We can't list the myriad little details offered by Whitby Castle that made the whole thing easier and more affordable than expected.

We were able to relax, savor the moment, and enjoy our day with all of our friends and family. We cannot recommend Whitby Castle enough. Thank you, Niki and Ralph!

We are a Hollywood Smile Photo Booth rentals and we had a wedding celebration here this Saturday. I loved the location with a golf field and waterfront. Photo Booth was a great addition to the wedding. Guests had so much fun.

I cannot say good enough things about working with the team at Whitby Castle. Niki and Ralph are absolute gems and my husband and I could not be happier. They were so attentive to each detail, the staff were amazing, the food was awesome, and the whole vibe was perfect for what we wanted. Literally cannot think of a single thing that was wrong or negative in any way. We had a perfect wedding.

Our daughter was married this past Sunday~12/3/2023. Words don't Exist to describe how incredible the day was, in Every way.
Ralph is Exceptional at his job. He is Efficient, Energetic, Effervescent, Enthusiastic, Easy going, and Entertaining as heck! The Entire process at Whitby appeared to be as Effortless and Easy as one could Ever wish for, or dream about, when planning a wedding. Every staff member was courteous, on point, and at your beck and call. Ralph kept Everything under control, and running as smoothly as silk. Coming from a control freak, such as myself, that is a huge compliment~(I know that you know that, Ralph!)
The well~oiled process didn't stop there. We need to thank Rosa, the Bridal attendant. She was so attentive to all, and any, of our needs. Her immediate attention to all of our requests, no matter how big or small, was deeply appreciated. Rosa took care of all the boutonnières, the minister's, my Father's, all the Groomsmen...
She carried our daughter's 8 foot train with so much respect, as though it was her own daughter's...
When things needed to be expedited, she was on audio gear with Ralph, in a heartbeat.
Rosa took incredible care not only during the wedding, but toward the end as well, breaking down all of the decor with the greatest respect. She was calm, patient, and obliging, in degrees we have never even expected or imagined.
In summation this was the "snow globe, fairy tale wedding" (as guests referred to it), that we had all hoped, and wished for.
The Castle, it's history, the staff, and yes, the food!, the Entire vibe...PRICELESS. Thank you a million times over!!
But, because it's who I am~just one suggestion~you may want to revise your original contracts to echo the new, suggested tip costs~(which are Extremely fair and proper)~for your Maître d', Staff, etc, as the ones in those that we signed for are, apparently, outdated.... :p

The event team at Whitby was so good to my husband and I and really made our day so special. They listened to our every concern and need and met it without hesitation. My bridal party and I got ready at the venue in the suite, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. On top of that the venue is drop dead gorgeous. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the location. AND THE FOOD!!! Absolutely stellar!! My day was a real life fairytale, and they treated us like royalty.

We got married at Whitby Castle on 03/12/23. Our wedding was a dream! We and our guests all had the most amazing time! All of our guests raved about the food, during the cocktail and reception. Ralph our Maitre’d was Awesome and made sure everything went smoothly, as did our bridal attendant Rosa. Our bartender Alana was amazing, as was the chef whom we were lucky to meet! The venue is just beautiful, and we loved that we had the whole place to ourselves as there is only one event taking place at a time; it really makes it feel more intimate and special. Our interaction with all the staff (Niki) throughout the planning process was wonderful. In summary my husband and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to have our wedding, and we are so glad it was the most memorable night for us and our guests. Thank you to all the staff at Whitby for helping make it such a special night!

I was recently married at the Whitby Castle, they did an amazing job! Our guest we're WOW'd from the beginning when they pulled in the driveway to the castle and amazing back drop. We were married outside on the lawn at dusk, the weather was perfect and the lighting on the castle. Our guests kept talking about the amount of food and top notch service from the staff. Ralph did an amazing job! From our first meeting he was on top of all the little details and had amazing suggestions. We are extremely happy we picked the Whitby Castle, we couldn't have asked for a better wedding. We can't thank Ralph and the whole staff on the event they put on for us. Thank you!

Nothing but class, professionalism and a willingness to make your day feel special - that is what we feel about the venue and staff of the Whitby Castle.

From day one they took it upon themselves to meet the needs and wishes of two soon to be newlyweds. We had both the ceremony and reception at the Whitby Castle.

First, they worked with our guest size and budget. Whitby Castle is a place for medium to large weddings however they were easily able to accommodate a wedding of 65 people (more on the small-medium side). The area never felt too big or small and the venue was able to use cocktail tables and other tricks of the trade to fill in the reception and ceremony.

Secondly, they were able to work with our desired menu. Adding and subtracting from their standard menu- they added Golden Crusted Chicken Schnitzel just for us!!! Which was absolutely delicious! I am Austrian (born and bred) and even I was impressed! They also added a sundae ice cream bar along with a beautiful cake! Which was really good!!!

Thirdly, the staff was AMAZING! Nice and cordial. The coordinator I was able to work with was Ralph, he was very nice and EFFICIENT! Which we absolutely love, no nonsense and straight to the point, providing advice and guidance when needed as well as suggestions where I didn't even know I needed to make a decision (he must've been doing this for years!) We never felt pushed or coerced into anything but simply guided and helped. Truly appreciated. My wife's bridal attendant was Katie and she was always very helpful and knew exactly how to assist. She was able to help with the bustle and with the decorations. My wife wishes to send a special thank you to both Ralph and Katie, she feels like you two went above and beyond and she really appreciated it. The rest of the staff was also very supportive and cheerful. Excellent service. Absolutely no complaints. None.

I would like to mention that I really appreciated the before ceremony snacks and beers in the grooms suite. Helped take off the edge :)

And lastly do we even need to mention it's a CASTLE! Talk about fairytale wedding ;-) the outside was exquisite and the inside was very well kept and just perfect (see pictures). We just loved it. Everything.
