The Railroad Crossing Diner is a gem of a diner on Route 14 in Dundee, NY. They have options for breakfast that I have never seen for starters. The one that caught my husband's and my eye was the garbage omelette! Ham, sausage, bacon, cheese, onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes , spinach and we asked them to throw our corn beef hash in there. Mmmm. My husband requested no mushrooms. I had a 2-egg omelette. My husband had 3. Phenomenal. It was the best omelette my husband I have ever had, and we've tested many lol. There are choices for bread that I have never seen either: raisin, Italian, 12 grain, and all the regulars as well. Fun little, nicely decorated with the railroad theme, and a history of the railroad on the front of the menu cover. The railroad crossing is just feet from the diner. Wonderful hometown, professional, efficient staff and fun regular older customers. One regular older gentleman said to us as we entered "7 minutes from the time you are seated for your meal to come." He was proud of his hometown diner, sipping coffee at the counter. This place was hopping... apparently for hours. The staff were still smiling, pleasant, and got right to taking care of customers, and flipping over tables for the next customers. They keep the place immaculate and tidy, creamers and sugars refilled constantly. This diner really has the diner experience down to a science. You really need to stop in and enjoy the entire experience. Beautiful memories are made there. FYI no cards accepted, cash only...but they do have an ATM machine right there as soon as you enter.

First time here. Heard good things so we planned to meet up with my oldest and his wife. Was not disappointed. I had two eggs, scrambled with sausage links, home fries and English muffin. My girlfriend had French toast. I don't remember what the kids had, but they were happy. Our drinks came in cans, which was cool, but not sure if you get free refills. Still, good homestyle cooking with friendly service.

We were on our way for a weekend in the Finger Lakes and wanted to stop for lunch somewhere - this diner was the perfect spot! The home fried potatoes in particular were so so so good. We both got the breakfast platter and left happily full! They are cash/check only but have an ATM inside. Staff was extremely friendly, and the food was very affordable. Highly recommend!

Small town atmosphere. I've got a perfect Ham and bean soup and very fresh salad with a tasty grilled chicken. It's a great choice for getting tasty and fresh food when you are traveling.

An excellent breakfast with my friends. The food was amazing, and the hashbrowns were so good, and the owner brought us out out extra and we ate those too. The staff are friendly and very tentative to all customers. Soooooooo Good! Thank you!

Sam (waitress) hustled and was pleasant as she handled the entire dining room alone. Food was on point. Atmosphere is downscale but themed to railroads. A good local choice for eggs. Coffee. Pancakes. Etc.

From the outside you might decide to bypass this local gem. Don't make that mistake. Small and unassuming, it makes up for a fancy setting by delivering delicious food. We had the vegetable omelette, probably the best I have ever tasted. The staff is caring and friendly. I highly recommend breakfast at this restaurant.

The staff was so sweet and very accommodating to my gluten allergy by letting me know that the home fries have breading in them. Food was amazing!! Large portions!! Very clean kitchen and dining area. Atmosphere is nostalgic train decor. Small town dinner with great food and staff.cash or check.

We absolutely love this Mom n Pop Stop for breakfast. I have been with my parents and again with my sister, her partner, my parents, and my husband. The food is filling, no fuss, and delicious. I recommend the Conductor Combo!! The eggs were incredibly fresh. The woman who helped us was clearly working hard to make sure our experience was a good one. While we were there, someone even attempted to do their Train of Fame challenge! We all started chanting his name to encourage him to finish it for a free meal! What a great neighborhood stop. We will be back.

This place is extraordinary. They have great food, but what makes it stand out are the lovely folks who work there. They should be open longer, but I’ve adapted my late eating habits to accommodate them. (It’s that good.)
I really want to try the Friday fish fry. They’re only doing it until 7:00, so I’ll have to consider it a late lunch.
I hesitate going into any further detail because the place is small, and if they find out about it, the hipsters will overrun the joint.

Wife and I stopped for breakfast on the way to Watkins Glen. Great service and HUGE omelettes. Normally finishing an omelette is no trouble for me but the "jumbo" size was aptly named! Nice place with atmosphere.

Delicious. People were super friendly, staff and regulars. Food was delicious and coffee with that french vanilla creamer, oh my goodness. I love mom & pop places and this is at the top of the list!
