Forest Lake Country Store

Absolutely delicious. This gem in land o lakes is worth the drive, we made a special trip from rhinelander and it did not disappoint! We had a burger, beef tacos, and had to get the French toast for dessert. Can’t wait to go back!

Excellent breakfast. Avocado toast on ciabatta with cucumber tomato salad piled on top, roasted pepitas and sesame. Glad to have this restaurant open and the wonderful selections to choose from on the menu. We will be back.

Under new ownership, this remote location is absolutely worth the drive. Under limited winter hours they offer a full breakfast and lunch menu with everything looking enticing. The new owners behind the counter and doing table-service were engaging and excited about their venture, and I am certainly looking forward to going back and trying their other offerings. The braised beef tacos that I had were excellent, and as a taco fanboy, worth a journey to try.

Went in Sunday to try the breakfast and a bloody mary. We had the stuffed hash browns, steak & eggs, french toast, and Tokyo Mary. Everything was excellent. This place is on par with Toad in the Hole in Eagle River in terms of food quality, flavor, and service. Highly recommend.

I have eaten at the forest lake country store several times. They have some of the best burgers, soups and breakfast items around. I am sure you won't be disappointed.

The stuffed hash browns are amazing! They've done a nice job with the building. Great spot to hang out.

Best Ruben I’ve ever had, excellent beer selection, and everyone was super friendly! They make their own bread too. It’s right off the bike trail so it’s a great stop after a ride. It’s an absolute winner!

Great place. Can someone please confirm if this place is permanently closed? We went by during snowmobile season and it was closed.

Woo woo wee wow. I NEVER leave reviews but this place was a classic and needs one. It’s the best. Regardless of their abundance of pre orders they accommodated us and we had the best walleye fish fry of our lives compete with potato pancakes. The selection of wine and beer was top notch and they had too many delicious pickled options to count. My partner and I had dinner, drink, grocery shopped. Worth the stop! Call ahead and order to ensure you get to try this quality food!

Wanted to stop in for breakfast (heard it's fantastic), but the morning got away from us (trip to Bond Falls).
So we got there in time for lunch, sat outside because we had our dog with us, and had a Great Lunch!
Frank is so accommodating and nice. Took time to chat with us even though he was busy.
Try a Margarita..."Frank's Way"! I had two!
I highly recommend this place, if I lived Up North I would be a regular for sure!

I stopped in as part of a bike tour. This place is AMAZING! They have EVERYTHING you could want! There’s a great restaurant (I loved the French toast and coffee), beer and wine, groceries and snacks, and ice cream. The staff were very friendly, the service was terrific, and prices were reasonable. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Great meeting place. Gets busy. Good food on a small menu. You can watch the staff make your food! Excellent selection of craft beer, wine and liquor. Good prices. They have a few food items like local cheeses and jams etc. Staff is very friendly. Outside seating as well.

Love the Friday walleye dinner. Excellent food and plenty to eat. Pan fried walleye, potato pancakes, freshly made bread, coleslaw, applesauce and all delicious! Pick your favorite beer or wine from their extensive selection and just savor the flavors. Mark and Kris are friendly and inviting. Their daughter was working tonight too. A great family!

Fish fry on Friday night was fantastic which enticed me to have breakfast . The meat filled omelet with banana peppers, cheese and other vegetables was out of this world. Highly recommend trying once as you will come back for more as I did. The friendly country home style service as the owners cooked, served and talked to you gave it a perfect atmosphere to relax and feel at home. Thank you!!!!

Absolutely love the people who run this place and the food. We arrived early and picked a table away from other patrons to adhere to social distancing guidelines, and the next table over filled in they asked if it was ok that they sat there. The next large group that came in filled in the rest of the tables with no qualms about space or their proximity to other guests and began rearranging the tables to suit their needs. It was infuriating and asinine. Please keep your distance and be courteous to the people risking their lives to feed you.
