One star bc there is no other choice. “Policy” of impounding ALL vehicles-one size doesn’t fit all. $483.45 because a 58 yr old FORGOT to renew her tag. $63.45 for tag renewal inc. late penalty. $150.00 ticket. $165.00 for a 0.8 mile tow. $125.00 bc Friday is impound day, closed until Monday.
While your vehicle sits at their impound lot, someone digs through all your belongings in your vehicle, writing it all down. This is a gross invasion of privacy and every time I get into my car I cannot stop thinking about someone having their hands all over my belongings. Searching my vehicle because I forgot to renew my plates? Really?
They were going to tow my vehicle with a regular tow truck, which would have tore it up! My husband told them they need a flat bed to tow an all wheel drive vehicle, which they did NOT have! Another company towed it, but I paid the contracted tow company. How many all wheel drive vehicles have been towed with a regular wrecker and sold back to their owners broken?
These officers have been told to impound, no matter how much people who are living pay check to pay check beg, cry or complain. They expect you to be very, very angry and have a permanent smirk on their faces as they say, “Yep, that’s right, it’s Friday and you can’t do anything about it until Monday.”

Your “Policy” needs to change.

Horrible police department . Targets residents of a poor community and impounds vehicles for any reason they can. Even if your tags or plates are a couple days expired they will impound your vehicle. It will cost you 500 dollars to get your vehicle and pay all the fees and fines or you will lose your car. They make their living in a dishonest way and are the most rude,inconsiderate tyrants with horrible public demeanor.

I would personally like to thank the Police Officer that felt the need to strand a family with 2 small children this past evening. Yes, I understand "the Law". I do understand that there are also other options available especially in this world of being unsafe no matter where you live the need to do what you did. I have always supported Blue Lives Matter. You sir are a horrible example ... SHAME ON YOU!!
