Picnic Island

Good place to hang out... Even though there's no Fish there, going there with a friend and just chilling out would be a perfect spot

Great place to swim with friends and dogs. Water shoes recommended for water depth past 3 feet it gets rocky

Nice place for a picnic. Only a couple of picnic tables. Plenty of shade. Limited view of big side of of Wisconsin river. Short walk from parking lot.

Beautiful place to go for a picnic or just a hike plus fishing. BBQ. i took some friends and family there for cookout great park

Really cool park tucked away behind a really ugly factory building. Even had some wild corn growing!

Beautiful place to relax.
Numerous tables under the covered pavilion.
Two tables on the actual island and a bench as well.
Kids playground and basketball hoops on the top of the hill.
Paved trails along the river.
Nice place to sit on a sunny day.

Great off leash area for swimming dogs

I was born and raised in Wausau but have not been there for many years. On July10 we had a Beste Reunion on "Duck" or Riverside Island. It was a wonderful time and the shelter was excellent, the grounds were clean, peaceful and beautiful.

Nice little park with a small beach, open field, nice benches, and some fishing nooks. Saw a decent amount of people strolling across the bridge to walk a lap around the island.

Once able to cross over to the island I'm really a fan of the place. This would be an outstanding place for a family or date picnic. Enjoy the views of the river and just have a lazy day.

Plenty of shade and room to sit or play, cool inside with the fans, nice facility: table, chairs, kitchen layout, and bathrooms. Plenty of parking.

Quiet little spot with lots of birds. Great for a nice walk.

This is one of my favorite parks in Wausau. Quiet and dog friendly.

A natural island. Also a dog park. Do do watch your step. I like to sit and watch the river go by.

Nice little park. I wouldn't go here at night. Seems kind of stabby.
