El Mezcal

First time my husband ever took a doggy bag home from a restaurant.
Food was absolutely amazing, visually and taste wise.
We needed to rest before we tried getting up from the seating due to stuffing ourselves. Lol
The customer service all around was pleasurable. Everyone made eye contact and smiled back at you.

Where to begin...? It was super busy when we pulled up and now we know why. Despite the full parking lot we were seated the moment we came through the door. The service was impecable! The inside reminds me of restaurants along the Mexican boarder and I loved it. We ordered a horchata, beef chimichanga, chili verde, and chorizo Street taco. Let me tell you that the chorizo Street taco was the best one I have ever had to date. It was like it was made by somebody's abuela. Absolutely everything was delicious and flavored perfectly. The portions were huge and the price was more than fair. This is a must try if you are looking for a cute atmosphere with great food. I definitely approve of this place!We will most definitely be returning.

It’s always nice to find a place that offers not only tasty food, but friendly and attentive service. That can make all the difference when dining out. Next time you go there, make sure to try their drinks as well. I have a feeling you’ll enjoy their signature Margarita.

Love the food, staff is always friendly, but the frozen drinks were very weakly flavored where they're usually quite good!
*** Went back today for lunch and all has returned to it's former level of deliciousness and the drinks were fantastic!! ***

Great place to grab some chow, and they have a bunch of lunch options that are a bit cheaper then there full meals, and no matter which one you get there's a good chance you won't be going home hungry, and if you're looking for desert they have fried ice cream

I can't say enough good things about El Mezcal! I had the chimichanga, fried ice cream and the churros - all of which were bomb! The service was really quick and I love the chips and salsa that were served almost immediately upon being seated. I also love the interior, which was really well done and the color scheme and decor were timeless and classic.
If you live in Wausau area and haven't been to this family owned and operated restaurant - what are you even doing???

Honest review time. I don't like to leave bad reviews, especially qhne it is normally a good experience. But our waitress throwing the kitchen staff under the bus really irritated me!

Fast service and food is hot and delicious. First time here and when im back in the area again I will eat here. One of the best. Very friendly staff.

Really great Mexican food. I got the chimichonga and it was delicious. Free chips and salsa with your meal. My coworkers and I all enjoyed our meals. The place was clean and well kept and decorated nicely!

I'll be back on my next trip to try out the margaritas 😄.

I had the Steak Chili Verde, a little more heat than I'm used to but I try to expand my horizons, so it was good! The steak was tender and there was plenty of it. It wasn't super busy on a Thursday evening, the service was friendly but could have been a bit faster imo. I'd recommend going and will go back.

Love this Mexican Restaurant! You never leave this restaurant hungry! Prices are unbelievably low for a lot of great tasting food and drinks!
