Definitely one of the fanciest libraries I've ever been to. In fact, I'd say this library is almost excessively lavish. The ceilings are adorned by these crystal-like chandeliers, and there's just this random huge fireplace in the middle of the room.

Frankily speaking, for how big it is, there's actually not that many tables to do work at (at least, compared to some other libraries, such as Boatwright Memorial). I could see it filling up on busy days. That said, I'd at least recommend visiting just to sightsee a bit.

Such a beautiful library, spacious and very modern. And, the children's area is AMAZING. I especially appreciate that there is a bathroom in the kid area. As soon as we walked in it, the girls said, "this bathroom is really clean mommy!". They look forward to visiting and love reading time there😊

It's a beautiful new 2 story building
I love the esthetics both inside and out. Plus the floorplan is well thought out and for a library it is a very open concept. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. Definitely my favorite branch.

Very nice library. First the architectural design is really nice. This library is very similar in design to the Varina library that was built a few years ago. Also like the Varina library this one has a variety of meeting rooms and educational rooms. On the first floor is a really nice reading area that looks like it has a fireplace (it wasn't on so I assume that's what it was). The second floor has a variety of rooms and a few places where you can overlook the floor below. The outside of the building has a variety of landscaping and some seating as well. The parking lot has plenty of space and this library is easy to get to from 64 or 295. Overall a very nice library.

Okay, so when they said it's a library, they forgot to mention it's pretty much the Ritz-Carlton of libraries. Seriously, this place is fancy! But in a cool, "I could hang out here all day" kinda way. Every time I step in, I half expect to be handed a sparkling water and a monocle. But jokes aside, even with all its posh vibes, the place is super welcoming. Whether you're diving into a mystery novel or cramming for exams, this library's got the perfect spot for you. And the staff? Super chill and always ready to help. Five stars, hands down!

This is truly an epic library filled with knowledge, technology, and to paths to personal excellence. The staff is always so friendly and willing to help you find whatever you need. Filled to the brim with all the standards of the modern library: personal computers, quiet little nooks to read and get lost in, and so many surprises. Even if you live a bit away, and it's worth the drive to come see this wonderful place.

An architectural gem, this library celebrated its grand opening on October 6th 2019. Fantastic public spaces, including meeting rooms, a community conference room, as well as private study rooms divided into sections specific to children, teens, and adults. Before attending the grand opening ceremony, I didn't realize just how grand the new space would be - a fitting anchor for the improving East End of Henrico!

When you go, ask for Kristy. She is friendly, knowledgeable, and after 7 years with the library system, is a great community resource!

PS: Check out the drive-thru for returning books or picking up reserved items!

This is by far my favorite library. It's a bit far from my place if residence but that is quite alright. I went for a crotchet class (which is great for anyone at any level) and did a little tour after...It's very spacious and quiet (not all libraries are quiet....trust me). The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. And there's even a fireplace there, go figure...The chairs are spacious and comfy and the study/meeting rooms are small enough to study alone with no outside interference and large enough to hold a conference. This will be my new place of study...

Went into the new library today and it is the same familiar friendly faces in a new gorgeous state of the art building. We didn’t even walk the whole facility because I made a reservation for a study room for the kids to do homework in the Children’s Section. The children’s area is a beautiful pink with these pearl toned trees with seating around them. The process to reserve our study room was super simple, there were ample rooms available during the time I requested, and the room was really nice. Kudos, thumbs up and a strong pat on the back to all of the people who worked together to bring our community a new fantastic library for all to enjoy. Thank you on behalf of my entire family!

This is by far the best library in the Richmond area with so many features available, too many to list them all. I'll list some: large variety of seating options with various types of chairs to fit your comfort level, water fountain with touchless water bottle refill option, most of top floor dedicated to children with comfort (chastisement) room, tables with outlets that include USB ports, plethera of newspapers/magazines/books, friendly helpful staff. Only one complaint, need more than stand-up stall in oversized bathrooms. The bathrooms have plenty of wasted space that could have been used for more stalls.

The Fairfield Library is one of the prettiest buildings I have ever been in. And it’s practical. As I walked around in awe, I saw rows and rows of books by many different authors. There is a computer area with at least 50 computers. Finally I saw the huge fireplace where I relaxed with several magazines. I walked up the wide yellow stairs to the second floor and saw three very friendly librarians. They all said how much they liked coming to work and chatted with me pleasantly. I asked about the Gaming area and they said it was well used by students after school. The Children’s area is painted a pretty dusty rose. I smiled when i saw a little room that said ‘Family Comfort.’ How thoughtful. I can’t wait to visit this beautiful facility again soon. Voting matters.

This is how a library should function! Well stocked shelves with new and classic titles, knowledgeable, personable staff, and a building that operates as an inspiring edifice for books. The technology available to you when you enter is ample, from study rooms with large screens that can connect to your equipment, to easy scanning stations for self check out of books. There is plenty of parking and its on the bus line. Cannot recommend this enough.
