Ginter Park Branch - Richmond Public Library

As I remember it, the Ginter Park Library was one of the nicest branches in the city library system. It appears that since I've left Richmond that they've made some improvements. But it's in a nice part of the city as well.They've definitely added more computers judging from the pictures that I'm seeing.

Maybe the best branch library in town. Very friendly and helpful staff, reasonable collection on the shelf and good services like computers and copy machines. I often reserve on line and pick up here. With the covid restrictions came some staff shakeup, but things are still cool with the folks that are there

This is actually a really nice library. I was stuck in Lakeside for a few hours while my car was getting fixed. After a scrumptious and nutritious Taco Bell breakfast--you can fit a lot of delicious in a crunchwrap--I stumbled down the street through overgrown grass and one barren wasteland of a parking lot to find this literary gem. There was actually a surprisingly good selection of new books, and I grabbed a few and brought them back to a table. I had a water bottle with me, and no sooner than I had set it down, one of the librarians zoomed over and told me that the table was NOT for water bottles. In fact, I was not even supposed to have one! I was sort of annoyed, but I understood her concern.

Later, I answered a call from the car place in a somewhat decent indoor voice. BAM, another librarian crashed into view and said that I MUST talk outside. Again, I was sort of annoyed because there were a few other people who had been laughing and talking in the sparsely populated library, and they had been given no such attention. I quickly took my short call outside, however.

Now as I look back and ponder that library experience, I actually am very happy that there is a library that still enforces basic library etiquette. I think it is because I have been dealing with the nonsense that occurs on the "quiet" floors of the VCU library that I accidentally slipped back into being a jerk. Thank you, Ginter Park Library. You run a tight ship.

This is a great neighborhood library. The staff is friendly, the arrangement and lighting are pleasant. I go there frequently and like it so much better since the whole library was completely renovated and the selection refurbished.

It was really nice and laid back and free, the pool wasn't too cold it was perfect.

Very helpful staff. I was visiting the area to see my family. I had some updates to do on a research paper, and Louis was very helpful and assisted me with getting logged in. Thank you Louis.
