Great customer service by staff. The Building Official Tim Tolbert is accessible and highly competent. Charles, Kim, Jennifer, Caroline, Wanda, Ronnie, Debbie, Harry, Robert, and many other helpful staff members ensure the permitting and inspection processes are consistent, transparent, fair, and efficient. The customer experience in securing a building permit is never an arduous process.

It is refreshing to see a government office that runs like a private business where customer service matters. Mrs. Blanton and her co-workers have provided excellent customer service and to boot were extremely efficient. I am a mechanical contractor that has come to expect lack luster customer support from the city and counties I do work in. Hats off to Escambia County for creating a welcoming environment that is there to truly assist home owners and contractors not just tax them.

Great assistance with registering and answered all my questions. I was happy with the service provided, from the check-in process to the short wait; Terry, Paul, Tim, Robert and Charles took the time to talk with me and provided lots of useful information.
Thanks everyone!

Would be helpful if they had numbers that were not DISCONNECTED OR NONWORKING for building inspectors. If it's an IT issue for updating the website, get someone with the knowledge/ know how to fix it. I cannot appreciate the lack of communication between the building inspector and the mobile home dealership, mobile home transportation company and our family. There is no communication, no intestinal fortitude for effort/ honesty. Get some urgency, grow a pair, and do your job correctly the first time so other people don't have to clean up your mess.

They need to update there closing time because after 4 they are not gonna help with much even though it states they close at 4:30. If you have to pay for anything better be there way before 4:00 or they can not help you doesn't matter if you are the only customer in the building they stop taking payments at 4:00 period! I guess they sit around and do much of nothing after 4 milking the clock

I had a roof done done after Hurricane Sally, I contacted the county after passing my roof inspection, without looking at it and taking a sworn affidavit from the roofing contractor that the job was up to code .
My roof is leaking and the wood is rotten and the county informed me they are immune from any actions. My roof has leaked in 5 different places including the flashings which one was missing and the others were done wrong and leaking. I cannot do anything or it will void my 5 year warranty which I paid 450$ for. My house is molding and nothing is being done. My last call the customer service rep told me there are many complaints contact my state representative Mr Bender District 4. I have called numerous times and they will not help either.

This is a public service position paid for by the citizens of this County, but they make it so hard for us citizens to contact them. These offices have multi phone line, they can call out but we can't call in , only their family and friends.
They won't list a good working number.

Wish I could give them a negative 10...what a joke...i shouldve just done the non permitted work and got my money from the crooksthat hired me to do only what I could legally do....people flipping house ...xheap Labour and they got the inspectors office in their pocket...the investigator called me a liar and added me in the system ...wpw

Unprofessional, nobody knows how to do their jobs, constantly calling people from the back for help, extremely slow, applications are not even in the same room as the department. They see maybe 1-2 people an hour if you're lucky

Scheduled and confirmed gas final inspection. Was at inspection site all day....10 hours and had a "No show"...didn't receive a courtesy call. Completely unprofessional.

No point of submitting for a permit called 30xs and no one picks up the phone for permit questions. I see why people don’t pull permits. Trying to do the right thing but really no point now .
