Both of my kids go here. We moved from VA with a very good district and I have to say this is better. Teachers are on top of student’s behavior and academics. They do challenge the kids, and I feel they do a very good job pushing students and more importantly the parents to be engaged in my kid’s education.

Extremely happy with this school. The teachers and staff are outstanding. What I am most impressed with is the communication between parents and teachers. My 3rd grader has been attending since they first opened the school and she is thriving and we could not be more grateful for the curriculum taught here.

We have 3 kids attending S.P.A 2 in elementary, 1 in middle. They started virtually then transitioned to Brick and Mortar last year. The kids love their teachers and the school staff.

Conveniently located near Parkland neighborhoods to serve the community that is looking for the Charter school lifestyle for their kids.

i hate this school and i want to leave. all that happens gets worse, yes ive made some pretty good friends but most of the boys and girls are horrible people. all the popular kids are liked by everyone but once you get to know them they will ruin your lives. do not get involved with them at all. dont even come to this school, the teachers are always threatening students with referrals, detentions, and suspensions whenever someone is misbehaving a lot. especially ela in seventh grade, the teacher doesnt even go up to the board to teach anything he just assigns us work and when we dont turn something in on time he gives the student a whole speech where almost the whole class can hear. we barely do any fun activities because its all taken up by elementary school. the staff are horrible and dont listen to complaints. ive had a horrible accident at this school once and the vice principal was terrible at handling the situation and nothing was done. the work barely makes sense and some teachers are teaching too fast. the teachers or staff absolutely dont care about bullying/cyber bullying at all even though they give assemblies, they act like they care but dont, and even if you try telling them about it theres always a way where theyll make each other apologize but that still wont make it stop. they dont let us use our phones during lunch when literally almost every single school in florida is allowed to, plus why should we have to quiet down in the cafeteria when thats clearly our only opportunity to talk to each other? why should teachers have to keep us longer after school because “the bell doesn’t dismiss you, i do?” and whats with the dress code? im always in my uniform yet i still see middle schoolers in completely different clothes, especially really short skirts and shorts. the middle school boys are always talking and doing disgusting things to each other or talking about the girls’ appearance’s (both weird or bad). i think all of these rules are actually stupid and this school needs to manage it better.

I’m writing as a student at Somerset Parkland. This school is like a prison. We get screamed at if we talk during lunch when it’s the only time we should be allowed to talk. The food is gross. They don’t let us go to the bathrooms in the classroom, so we have to use the hall bathrooms and they are so dirty and sometimes there’s even blood smeared. My teacher threatens us all the time. Like “if you forget your homework, I’m going to give you detention”. Or they threaten us that there’s cameras in the classroom but then say they don’t see anything on film when we report something being done bad to us (I have kids say they are going to kill me all the time). They act like we are liars. Also the schoolwork and tests are so easy, almost my entire class has perfect straight A’s. There’s something wrong with that. Please, protect your kids from this place. I am leaving to one of the better public schools next year. This place gives me nightmares. Latest, Castro was just busted for bringing loaded firearms to school. WTH

Somerset was fine on Zoom it’s opening year last year. We had great teachers. The following live instruction this year has been a nightmare. Both of my daughters first grade teachers quit, second grade teacher quit already this year, both second grade room moms quit. Our daughter has been bullied since the first week of school through Christmas and no one in the administration cares. Their only option given to us was to take our kind, straight A, happy child, out of her high achieving class with her best friends and move her to a strange class leaving the bully to remain. Absolutely atrocious. Avoid at all cost. The worst event: Somerset Parkland let a kindergartener walk off of campus with no adult and she wandered into another community, found by a stranger, and the BSO had to post her face on FB to see who she belonged to. Sickening.

Non-stop bullying, teachers constantly leaving, room moms quitting and removing their students, a steady stream of other students leaving, no gifted program, no library, not enough computers for the kids, part-time principal who works at another school most of the week and is utterly useless. Constant death threats between students. Unlicensed teachers. No punishment for physical/emotional/verbal abuse. Daughter beaten so badly, we had to file a police report. Nothing done to the bullies by Somerset. Principal brings firearms to school and needs to be fired.

I go here and hate it. All teachers here care about is getting you in trouble for the littlest things. They are also not qualified teachers
