Il Ritrovo

This was my first go at Italian food since I returned from my trip to Italy back in June. And dare I say...everything we ordered was just as good, flavor, freshness and quality-wise. Our party of five was seated immediately when we came in during a lunch stop on our road trip--which was nice considering the place was packed for lunchtime! Our server was very thorough with explaining the menu to us as first-timers, and took special note of how our party does not eat pork. The inside is nothing fancy--just a cozy, no frills restaurant. One of my biggest pet peeves with Italian food is everything starts to taste the same. But truly, every item we ordered had its own unique flavor profile. So hard to choose a top three, but if I had to, it'd be the vegetable minestrone, the Caprese Salad and the Calabrese con Miele pizza. Will definitely be back if I'm ever in Sheboygan again!

We came with our 1 year old for the 1st time. Great experience! Everyone was so kind & attentive. Sauce, cheese, & crust are phenomenal! It's the kind of pizza you get when you want REAL pizza. The sourdough bread given to us in the beginning was perfect also. My husband makes sourdough and said it tasted & looked like real ingredients from home. I've also bought bread from their market & same deliciousness. Definitely fresh. Very good pizza & very good staff.

It’s not often we go out to dinner and don’t make reservations these days… We do not like to wait for a table, but heeded the recommendations of friends and decided to give Il Ritrovo a try. Our expectations were exceeded and it was a highly enjoyed evening, after a 30 minute wait for a 2-top table at 7:30pm on a Friday night!

Once finally seated, the service was friendly and fast. Our plates were clean and our bellies were full. We would come back again!

We highly recommend the Arancini and Calabrese Con Miele pizza! The Arancini was crispy and succulent on top a bed of flavorful marinara. The pizza was SO flavorful—spicy and sweet, but still light enough we could have each finished one on our own.

We also enjoyed the house made gnocchi and our selections for dessert (which are very large, so we would split a bowl of gelato next time!).

A bit of the ritzy-er side of things. Went there on a whim and felt mildly underdressed in my athletic attire.
Beyond that I had a whale of a time. Lovely space with attentive staff. The bar served delicious and unique cocktails. We ordered the bianca pizza and it was absolutely divine.
As an out of Towner this was a lovely treat in the city.

Had high expectations going in and was not disappointed. Amazing service, food, and ambience. Will be back again soon.

We had such a lovely time. The pasta special tonight was gnocchi and tomato sauce - super fresh, tender, and light. They don't mess around with the drinks, cocktails were delicious and strong. We skipped dessert and walked over to Slo Foods for a tray of the tiramisu to take home.

A little pricey but food is good. Staff are very friendly. They no longer have the little store to purchase items because they have opened another store around the corner that offers this. Ask about there daily specials which are perfect for sharing.

We were on a road trip from Boston to Vancouver, BC and did a detour just to visit this restaurant. A friend from Chicago told me that if you are ever in the area that you must try this plan. The restaurant was very busy and we had about a 30 minutes wait. Once seated the service was excellent.

They have a wood fire oven and the pizzas that come out of that oven is to die for. Pizza is one of my favorite food and I've traveled all over the world and to me this pizza is up there as one of the best. Very good restaurant, we will definitely be back.

Bread oil , pizza and wine , were totally great. My first time here. The Atmosphere was amazing , the service was awesome. Will definitely be coming back.

Hands down best Italian food in all of Sheboygan. I live outside of the USA and travel frequently so I've had a lot of Italian food....this place is the most delicious in the area! Their pizzas are great (and I've had a few!), their wine selection is incredible and their deserts are to die for. Also...their competitive advantage is their STAFF. Sheboygan lacks professional yet personable wait staff and the 3 or 4 times I've been here, I am impressed. Oh, did I mention that all of their specials are also great?! On the weekends, their lunch specials have pasta options.. SO good!

Went to Rotrovo because I was feeling a little bit of Italian pizza and food and oh boy it did not disappoint! The restaurant is a LITTLE cramped but easy to move around in, very clean and very atmospheric and was attached to this neat little Italian market that had cool if not pricy wares! Service was grade A, friendly quick and just overall great! Food was great as well! The free side bread and oil was tasty if not a little burned while the caprise alad I got was delicious, as was this breaded cheese dish accompanied with the SINGLE BEST marinara sauce I've has was divine and the pizza was a LITTLE hard to keep together but just as good as the other two! Try Ritrovo out, it's a great restaurant all around on all fronts!

The Best
My son and I had two pizzas here Friday night and they were the best pizzas we have ever eaten. We go out of our way to taste good pizzas and have been to New York, L.A., Miami, and Chicago tasting their best pies. We never expected to find this quality in Sheboygan but it's world class and every time we attend races at Road America we will look forward to our next pizzas here.

Busy place attached to a store downtown. Lucky we got there at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon. We ended up getting a table right away. After 5 pm people were waiting outside to get a table.
We had an appetizer and the pizza.
They were both pretty yummy with lots of leftovers. Also they had a great beer selection!

The taste of europe.
An authentic menu with autbentic flavours from Italian cusian. Delicious food and drink with great freindly service. A little stepp in prices fpr the dishes but it was very fresh ingredients. There is alot of choice from meat to vegitarian options and is accessable to all.
Two toilets everyone shares is a little small and the parking is street parking, free after 5pm.

It was our first time here, I had the Fritto Misto Mare & my husband had the Lombardia pizza both dishes where very good, we will definitely come back to try other dishes & the staff was very friendly Update 12-16-23 We were here for lunch had their homemade soup and pizza both were very tasty went early because the restaurant gets very busy and it was as we were leaving

Fun, authentic Italian right on the street in Sheboygan! What a hidden gem. Our family is used to "American-style" pizza, but loved trying the new flavors and style of Neapolitan wood-fired pizza. We had the Prosciutto e Burrata to start, and tried the Margherita Classico and Salsiccia e Funghi pizzas. All delicious! Loved the dog friendly patio seating and excellent, fun wait staff. Will return if ever in the area!

Was seated immediately on a Friday night. The waitress was prompt, friendly and attentive to us. The Bruschetta appetizer was so delicious, especially adding a little balsamic to the top. We also shared a Campanago (sp?) Pizza for dinner. Delicious seasonings and came out hot and fresh. There was an eclectic mix of people of all different ages and style eating there.

What a delight! This place has excellent and authentic Italian food, superb service and a vivid atmosphere. Everything about this place, from the food to the warmth of the servers, screams of Italy. If you’re visiting Sheboygan from out of town (like we were) you can’t miss this place. This is one of those places that perhaps you wouldn’t expect to find in Sheboygan but when you do you’re reminded of the proximity to cities like Chicago and then you’re happy it is here and you don’t have to deal with traffic and parking. There is no need to emphasize that the food here is fantastic but it deserves to be said against. The owner and chef himself is trained in Italy and rumor is he sends his employees to Italy to be trained; and this shows on every aspect of the customer experience. This place is highly recommended.

Probably some of the best pizza I've had since Italy! The wait staff is awesome, the food amazing, and the prices are excellent.

I will definitely be back.
