Thai Basil Restaurant

First time ever coming to this establishment and it's deceiving!!! The inside is absolutely huge, they bought the location next door and expanded into it. Giving their footprint more room. The older part of the restaurant is that, traditionally decorated with an old date night type vibe. The new part is modern and sleek, brighter and has a sushi bar. There is a distillery in the back of that part but I didn't ask if they used it actively or not. The menus are overwhelming, there was one inside the table, one on a stand on the table, one huge book with a leaflet inside and 2 additional leaflets as well. The food was wonderful. We got chicken yellow curry and pad Thai. Both were great portions for the price. We also got a sushi roll, the whatever roll, while a bit pricey it was phenomenal! The drinks are canned at $2.50 each and I will definitely get water next time. It's a bit shocking that there is a distillery in the building but not a soda machine; but they are clearly successful as the place was very busy for late on a weekday!

One of my daughter and I's favorite places. The food is delicious and authentic, the service very friendly and the portions large for a reasonable price. The Thai-hot spice level is perfect: brings on the sweat without being too hot or overpowering the flavors. I've had several dishes from curries to noodles to appetizers. Everything has been a delight. Don't forget to have Thai tea with the meal to temper the heat 😉 I definitely recommend and hope you have a similar or better experience🥳

Amazing!!! Got the mee ka tee noodles and they are delicious! Sap sap :)I also got the papaya salad(lao style) so good and worth every penny. Super friendly staff! Their food is not overly sweet like some places in the area. I will be coming back soon and often. Thanks!!

This is a wonderful restaurant with friend staff and nice authentic Thai menu. We just stopped in for a small snack, and it tasted great.

My family and I have been coming here for over 10 years, the food is always delicious, the owner and I are "friends" we catch up on our family, she always remembers us and our favorite dishes even if much time has passed. The new expansion is beautiful! Best Thai food in Tampa Bay, trust me I've tried others but it's always worth the trip driving across town for it! And I did many times when I lived in Tampa. Highly recommend it. At any time my daughter says let's go to Thai Basil I'm ready to go! Especially for their Thai Tea, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Pad Thai and veggie rolls with their delicious peanut sauce! Don't forget to ask for their spicy tray! ♥

This is my favorite Thai Restaurant in Florida. They make everything perfect. The ingredients are super fresh. The veggies they use are cooked just right - where you can taste them without being too undercooked or too overcooked where the flavors are annihilated. They don't skimp on the protein portions, even with the lunch portions, you'll have plenty to eat. They brew their own beers in a lovely section of the restaurant which rivals brew houses of major metropolitan areas. They have an extensive cocktail menu. So it's a great place to take guests and enjoy a great night of drinking and dining.
I personally recommend their spicy basil noodles (drunken noodles) their coconut milk soup made with lemongrass and ginger. And any of their curry dishes are made to perfection. You'll fall in love with this place?

WOW!!! You really need to visit Thai Basil on West Bay. They have purchased the space next door, broke through the wall and added a full drinks bar, a sushi bar, a beer brewery and sexy tables and booths! They still have their excellent food and service, but now has a whole NEW VIBE! We just finished dinner and drinks with a party of 6. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the service was quick, friendly and efficient. The food was served hot, as expected. I highly recommend this place!

Went with a large group of ladies for lunch and had a fabulous meal! Most of us had not dined there before, but all of us will be back, some ladies ordered take-out to bring home for their families they enjoyed it so much!

OMG! This place is such a jewel!! We'd been hunting for great Thai food (and Sushi) since wintering down here 13 years ago. Coming from Chicago, you can't round a corner without finding great Thai, so we were happy to finally find it here.

This place is so cool.
One side has "old school" & old fashioned Thai/Chinese decor. The other side was just blown out and super modern with high ceilings big screen TV's a HUGE bar....and get this!....He brews his own beer. I'm bit of beer snob?...this stuff is AWESOME. He just started 2 new brews and I love 'em all.
The food isn't just good, it's outstanding. The sushi is legit!
Never had the same thing twice and the service is just good. Prices are super reasonable too.
Absolutely head the Thai Basil and THAI ONE ON!

Husband's appetizer was the Chicken & Rice Soup and I ordered the Tom Yum Soup. It was outstanding. Exactly what I expect in Chicken Tom Yum soup, hot & sour. Chicken based broth, a little spicy but not too much, nice amount of chicken pieces with bits of mushrooms and scallions round out this amazing soup. I'd get this every time.
Husbands Chicken & Rice soup is exactly that. A comforting and delicious bowl of yummy soup.

Husband ordered the Chicken Ramen Noodle bowl. He's never had a Ramen Bowl and he was glad he tried it. It's a chicken based broth, with tender bits of chicken, bamboo shoots & boiled egg. He chose to forgo the shiitake mushrooms and scallions. The bowl was quite large and it looks as if we'll both leave with take home containers.

I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. Perfectly cooked rice noodles seasoned with a sweet & savory sauce, with tender chicken, scattered with peanuts and scallions. Oh. My. Goodness. This is a definite must eat and we can't wait to try something else next time. Don't know how we're gonna be able to -not- order the same thing again.

We come back every yr when visiting for a month in the winter. Authentic dishes. When you ask for your dish to have the spiciest level it will be! Yet the flavor is amazing. Not just spicy.

Been coming to Thai Basil for years. Love the food and the team is always super nice and helpful. Our favorite dishes are the Lad Nah, pad Thai, summer rolls, and green curry.

Really good Thai food. I had the clay pot dinner with seafood in a light curry that was great. They also have their own brewery and their beer was good!

I have been coming here for over 5 years and I truly enjoy it. Service is always great. Decor is very soothing to the eye. Food is always consistently good. Soda is brought out by cans. You can also ask for a spice rack.

I can’t say enough about the quality of entrees sides and sushi here. The staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is beautiful. Food is reasonable considering the quality and service. You can eat a full meal and you won’t feel bad like some places I’ve been- it’s that kind of quality. Recently expanded into full liquor and brewery, best of both worlds right here. Exceptionally loyal because of the above.
