The Cheese Curds (Got to have them. They are well battered and a light appetizer).
The Mahi Mahi Tacos very yummy 😋
The Smashburger...cooked to order. A half pound burger with a side of Onion rings.
A VERY well stocked bar!
An ice cream sundae for dessert 😋

Take your date to one of the best establishments in the Sheboygan area.

We stopped for lunch on a Sunday and watched football in the bar. The nachos were really good and it's a gigantic order. I love the building and the atmosphere on the inside. We had a fish sandwich and mahi mahi. I really wanted a flight of bacon but that'll be for the next time! The service was incredibly slow but we weren't in a rush so it wasn't a big deal.

Wow! Great food, awesome service! Very friendly staff and manager welcomed us and kept us company while enjoying our meal in a clean and modern environment. Our server, I believe her name was Alexis, was a lot of fun answering all our questions and helped us celebrate our mother’s birthday with these delicious desserts - just look at those tasty bites! A bit pricier than some other local options, but well worth it for the flavor and value if your looking for a nice dinner out. Enjoy!

What a great place to stop and eat/drink! I had the Prime Rib Sandwich with fries which was excellent, over stuffed with beef and au jus to dip. The group had a cheese curd appetizer with two different sauces to dip. Ice cold beers, and amazing service from Lisa (...not Jody, inside joke with her). We'll definitely be back...

THE BEST CHEESE CURDS EVER. We sought out Horse & Plow the first time we were in the area on our quest for the best cheese curds in Wisconsin and had to return on our second trip! We also tried the bacon flight this time and shared the warm cider donut. All were delicious - that donut was gone in 3 min! Drinks were creative and delicious also, albeit a bit pricey.

The atmosphere is high end and feels like you're stepping back in time. A little bougie for middle class people like us who can't afford to stay at that resort itself, but the wait staff was kind and treated us wonderfully. All in all, definitely worth the trip to Kohler!

My fiancée and I chose this place somewhat randomly during a day trip to the area, and were extremely pleased with all aspects of the visit. It has a quiet, refined feel to it...almost felt like an exclusive club-type of place! The menu is on the smaller side in terms of selection, but they easily make up for it in quality. Our server (Ryan) was also pleasant and attentive. We will definitely want to come back in the future.

Dined here a couple of years ago and wasn't hugely impressed, so was reluctant to return the other night. Boy were we pleasantly surprised!! We ordered the Beer Battered Cheese Curds, which were just as phenomenal as they were originally, and for mains, we had the Moorish Brussels Salad and the H&P Fish Sandwich - both of which were absolutely delicious. Even the standard/sweet potato fries deserve a special mention! Service was great also and the restaurant had a warm and cozy feel - especially nice in winter. Honestly can't wait to return and order the exact same meal! SoOo good!

Sunday evening, and looking for a good place to go out to dinner? Horse snd plow does not disappoint. Not many options on a Sunday evening, but I am glad we choose horse and plow. Food was delicious. We were sat over by the fireplace, exactly what I needed on a cold and snowy night.
Only thing I was not a fan of was the TV. I don't like the distraction, but I know many other people enjoy them.
Service was great. Our waitress was genuine and sweet.

Fantastic food, large portions, great service. We will definitely be back. It is in the basement so if you want to avoid stairs go in the main entrance under the green awning and find the elevator.

Trust me when I tell you I've eaten a lot of cheese curds in my lifetime. I can tell you where all the good ones are. The cheese curds here should be declared the best. They're fresh, they're ooey and gooey. You can take a bite and pull that cheese to the length of your arm. It will melt in your mouth. Go there for the curds, stay for everything else.

Classic pub with a great atmosphere and food! Went here with cousins and enjoyed lunch. Bloody Mary was amazing and it came with a chaser (how it should but so many places skip!) and the BLT was to die for. Service was very good.

Went to the Horse and plow after a long day and it was well worth trying if you ask me. The building itself is very neat, a true brick and mortar establishment that is very clean, roomy, and atmospheric as all heck! Service was nice, courteous and quick as well. Food was good! Cheese curds, cheese and beef soup and Mac and cheese were all pretty tasty. It ain't the best place I've been to but u liked horse and plow none the less and would recommend it to anyone looking for a neat bar and restaurant sort of establishment!

Pictures are of the inside of the building, menu, and food I got!

Was in Sheboygan for work and decided to stop here for dinner (total was party of 5). We had no reservations, but they were able to accommodate right away. Very cool atmosphere and the wait staff were all very friendly. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. Will definitely be going back next time I’m in town.

I love eating here.
The atmosphere is great. There is a little nook with a fire place and TVs.
Their menu changes so be on the lookout.
Best cheese curds.
Great for a date.
Friendly service.
Reasonable prices. I’d say I spend anywhere around $40 for two people when visiting including drinks.
Interior has beautiful designs. A well preserved old building.
Can be hard to see as the sign outside is small.
I recommend this place as a unique place to eat at!

First of all, the food is fantastic. My brother and I had the Chicken Sandwich and the Shrimp Po-boy. The chicken was juicy, the shrimp crispy, and the sauces chosen to pair were a perfect complement. You go down south for the same and it has that homey hole-in-the-wall kind of easy comfort, but what sets it apart is the choice of bun. I don't know if H&P makes their own from scratch, premade, or prepackaged, and I don't know what it is about Wisconsin, but we know how to pair all this goodness with the perfect carb.

As to service, the workers I've dealt with are professional, friendly, and often knowledgeable about the other parts of Kohler waiting to be explored. I also like that I'm not constantly badgered. I was here to catch up with my brother and our conversation was rarely interrupted, but I also did not feel neglected. It's plain to see the pride Kohler puts into hiring and training charismatic hardworkers. The staff is definitely worth above and beyond the 20% tip.

Lastly, atmosphere and ambiance. I like the cozy pub look, but it definitely is far from a normal pub ambiance. It's warm and buzzing. I don't think I've ever been here on a slow night. I like the food, I like the service, and I like bringing friends and family here for a casual night of reliably good food and drinks, except--and this is NOT H&P's fault--the one thing that is occasionally uncomfortable are the other customers. Every once in a while you'll get a weird vibe paired with a lingering gaze if you don't obviously match the normal Kohler standards, which is a strange double standard considering the number of non-Kohler people are employed in the kitchens, spa, and hospitality. I can't comment on the exact reason for the weird vibes I get off the other customers. I've met plenty of kind, down-to-earth people in Kohler, and I like to do my own thing because my business is mine and their business is theirs but it's been palpable enough on a number of occasions to comment on. There's really not much you can do about it except shrug it off.

All in all, H&P is a great community staple. Don't let the occasional weird vibes deter you from treating yourself to good food and service.

Great food (especially the cheese curds), impeccable service, and an atmosphere that matches the name perfectly. As a random note, I wouldn't eat the leftover nachos as they taste amazing hot and fresh but aren't very good the next day (no fault of the restaurant :) )

Came in for lunch not sure what to get but not incredibly hungry. The beer cheese soup is the best I've ever had. We usually never have room for desert so we decided in the strawberry jalapeño cheesecake and we weren't disappointed. Great flavors. The horse and plow is fancy but feel free to dress casual. I came in my swim suit and t shirt. Great experience

My wife and I came in on our first evening of our honeymoon after our spa treatments. The spa called over and let them know that it was our honeymoon and they came over with complimentary glasses of champagne!! A thoughtful and amazing touch and really nice start!

We grabbed other drinks as well; she a Moscow Mule and I had the Kohler Dark Chocolate Brandy Old Fashioned. The old fashioned was amazing, something I'd never tasted before, so great! My wife had the Great Lakes Perch Fry, which was flaky, light, and perfectly fried. I had the Pork Schnitzel with the Spátzle, which was perfectly prepared. Really good quality for everything and a great price!
