Charcoal Inn North

We picked this place out of our Road Food Book. Very happy with it. The one listed in the book was the south facility which is closed so we found the north location. It's a small little hole in the wall that was very good. The staff was friendly and prompt. I had the Cheese steak sandwich and onion rings. My husband had the best and kraut with coleslaw. We both enjoyed our food and it was very plentiful.

My absolute favorite burger in the world! You can’t duplicate the flavor of this burger with delicious brown mustard, hard roll, and butter! I love this place! Too bad they had to close the south side due to lack of help! This location has limited seating. Soups, tortes, breakfast all amazing.

Wow. Was recommended by a local. Did not disappoint . Exceeded expectations. Got a double brat sandwich with mustard and kraut. Excellent. Lasagna soup was amazing. Prices are low for the food quality. Service was fast and friendly. Can't beat this local gem. Even a Bucs fan from Tampa can enjoy. I did.

Really good food. Basic greasy spoon menu, eggs and bacon, pancakes, burgers, brats soup, sandwiches. Staff was amazing! Parking kinda isn't the greatest, but not their problem. Recommend this place any day.

One of the best steak sandwiches anywhere. We drive over an hour to get here. Soaked in butter and crusty Sheboygan rolls from the local bakery. We have gone here for many years. Cute little establishment. Gotta try it. I guarantee you will be back🥰

Best Breakfast in the COUNTY & it just so happens it's the most reasonably priced, as well!
2 eggs, good portion of perfectly cooked hash browns, 2 slices of buttered toast (with real butter), and perfectly cooked sausage (4 links). You'd expect about $10 or so at most places, right?
Not here! $6.50
Service is ALWAYS great plus the waitstaff & even the cook are friendly folks.
Not to mention you'll regularly see the friendly owner topping off coffees, cooking, etc.
If you just realized, this review was specifically breakfast oriented. I could continue to rave about their lunch and supper but you get the idea.
Whether you're visiting the area or a Sheboyganite looking for a place to patronize Charcoal Inn SHOULD be near the top of your list!

I Absolutely Loved Charcoal Inn!!! I've ate there for over 30 years, and had even worked there back in high school. Scott, the owner, decided to hang it up and retire finally though. Yesterday was it's last day. I'm going to miss it dearly!!!!!

It’s always the same and it’s always perfect. I get my yearly fix on the drive up to Door County. Of course the brats are a must but the onion rings are great too. Nice ladies run this place with friendly efficiency. See you next year!

The food is awesome, I have tried everthing but the fish, on occasion I have tasted a fishy taste in the fries, and broke out in hives. So becareful of the fishy taste. For you people who are allergic as well.

The bacon was excellent! Everything was good. Glad I picked this place today because I've only eaten lunch there. That's great too!

Im addicted to the Amazing! chicken and dumpling soup!!! Its the best I've ever had in my life! after being sick with a cold I needed something hot and soothing for my body, the broth Is so clean and the veggies are so fresh!! Omg!! I go everyday!

Off the charts delicious food (best brat sandwich ever!!!) and friendly staff. Only complaint was that no staff or other customers were wearing a mask, and we had our unvaccinated son along (he's too young) and it's unfortunate we have to worry more about the safety of our child to enjoy great food and service. However, I have friends who work in retail and I've seen the way they get blasted in reviews for upholding our county's MANDATORY mask mandate and that disgusts me, so I refuse to do the same here. If not for covid, this is a 5 star place. Just know if you are unvaccinated, it will be riskier for you to partake of this great place. 👍

Outstanding service! We showed up with a large party and the staff took great care of us. The food came out hot and the portions were large. Will highly recommend this restaurant!

I've had fond memories of coming here since I was a kid. The burgers are the best. Pretty much everything is the best. It's a bit greasy, but that's the price of excellence here. Whenever I'm in the area, I try and make a stop here.

Wait staff is awesome! Very friendly. Food was wonderful as always. Hope someone takes it over so we don't lose this gem!!

Saturday, July 23rd. Lunch hour. A customer using a walker was leaving Charcoal Inn North after eating lunch today. It was obvious she was not going to exit the restaurant without a little help. Steve, who helps
Wendy in the grill area, saw that the customer needed help opening the heavy glass doors. Steve came from behind the counter and opened both doors for her. I just want to thank Steve for making Charcoal Inn North a special place because of his customer service. Also a special thanks to the breakfast crew at Charcoal Inn North. You always make it a great place to start my day.

Love their food. Very flexible with the coupons. Take out is awesome. Always ready in 15 minutes. This is a local establishment that deserves a spot in the food history of Sheboygan.

Quaint little old school diner with delicious breakfast food. Prices are extremely reasonable. It'll be a sad day when they close for good.

Good food..good service and reasonable. Very local which is what I like. They serve breakfast but the south side one doesnt. I miss it alot. Went there often.

Charcoal Inn has been #1 since my parents took me there to eat as a child, I've taken my kids there, also my grandchildren, who now go there themselves after school for a Burger, or just Fries & a soda.
They have homemade Soups,Tortes, Pies. The Open Face Tenderloin is my fav, all Burgers are Charcoal grilled, put on a bun with lots of butter, yuummy yummmy.
Charcoal Inn also has a south side restrauant if you notice the North side closed, the south side will be Open.
