I brought my van in to get a new battery and oil change. It was fixed in only a few hours of me dropping it off. When I picked it up the mechanic told me that the back tires would need replacing as the threads in the side wall were becoming visible. He handed me a sheet with recommended tires for my vehicle. The prices where included and he suggested I use this as a guide when I was making my choice. With no pressure to schedule another appointment and service that went the extra mile I made sure to bring my car and van to Kirby's from then on.

Kirby is the man! He is honest, will treat you well, and most likely give you a few laughs on the house. Stand-up guy and operation. I highly recommend KARS.

I took my car to Don's Auto after reading reviews and hearing very good things from family and friends. I could not have been more disappointed. After taking a week to replace a broken bleeder block on my car (the part had to be ordered), not more than a week and a half passed and I was in again with the same malfunctions. He told me that not only had the piece broken, but part of this stationary block had literally fallen off and was gone. He either failed to notice that the piece was a lemon upon installation or he installed it incorrectly. He told me I would need a new one and my car sat for another week while I waited patiently for news. I was able to pick my car up and was not charged anything for labor or parts (as it was no one's fault but the manufacturer or installers) and I was once more on my way, expecting the car to be fixed.

This time it was a week before I was back into his shop. It took a full week before I even received a phone call. And what a pointless call it was - he told me he had not yet had time to do more than glance at the car to see if the same part was broken again. He said it was not and that his first suspicions may have been accurate - that I had a blown head gasket which was leading to my car overheating so quickly. I told him to stop all work on the car (as if he had actually been doing anything).

I came with a spare key after business hours to pick my car up and take it elsewhere. The spare was not needed. My car was sitting in the lot unlocked and with the keys in the ignition. I was lucky enough that nothing was taken from it, but could have lost not only my GPS, but also my laptop computer.

Upon taking it to a different mechanic in the town of Sheboygan, my car was looked at, diagnosed, and fixed within two days. The mechanics at Don's had missed a coolant tank that was nearly rotted out. One would think that upon receiving a car that chronically overheats that the coolant tank would be one of the first places checked in a car.

I am more disappointed than anything. The new owner seems to be a nice and very helpful individual, but through my experiences here I don't know what percentage of it is genuine and what is fake. I feel that I was taken advantage of as an easy mark as a 21 year old female - that, or he was inexperienced or unaware of how to fix my car's problems and did any work that he could charge me for. I will never take any vehicle back to this shop, and I would never recommend it to anyone.
