Greensfelder park is a great place for a reasonable workout for hiking, biking, horseback riding. Lots of hills but good well defined trails.
If it's raining or super muddy some trails will be closed. Even though you have trail users on the trails, everyone is mindful of right away and very polite and friendly . It is a great place to hike if you want a bit of a challenge to get in shape negotiating Missouri's steep rocky hills and you don't need to travel outside of St Louis County. Less steep trails are available as well. Plenty of nature, wildflowers and birds. Greensfelder has aa glade trail. The Longest hiking trail is Green Rock Trail at 14.5 miles.
Greensfelder has group camping and individual camping. Showers and restrooms are available. Camping facilities for overnight camping with your horses.
Dogs must be leashed. Picnic areas and shelters to rent for groups available. Playgrounds available.

One of the most peaceful places in the St Louis area. Feels more like a state park.

Beautiful lush park. I felt like a velociraptor or T-Rex was going to pop out. Gorgeous tree cover, deep valleys, and primitive trails for hiking or running. Camping sites and equestrian stuff avail, too.

My family did this on a gorgeous early fall day. We did the 2.5 mile long Deer Run Trail. Very rocky in some areas, rated difficult. We very much enjoyed it. We will be back to do the 3.6 mile long Eagle Valley Trail.

Had a great time at the park. We were there for several hours. A true gem of a park. Lots of people using the park on Sunday. Had fun watching the horses and mules that people had brought to ride. Trails are very nice.

Greensfelder has steep elevations with a one way, drive thru, scenic loop to view the upland deciduous hardwood forest, glades, & a few creeks. There are a few shelter areas with fire pits, barbeque pits, & picnic areas. This park is best for advanced hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnics, & exploring nature.

$10 gets you a great no electric campsite with firepit (including flipover cooking grates) and a separate grill.
Bathrooms have running water. Nearly all patrons are completely maskless, but even the bathroom's aren't too busy so it's an easy workaround. Also the rangers (plural) are present and helpful. So if rowdy you want to be, in cuffs you will leave.

I go for trail runs here 1-2 times a week. The trails are great singletrack, packed dirt with occasional rocky spots. They get very sloppy after raining, so give it at least 24 hours after any storm, especially in the early spring/late fall. The equestrians don't always follow this rule, so there will be spots with horseshoe shaped sivota.

This is a nice sprawling park that backs up to Rockwood Reservation and Six Flags. There are horse paths and some equine facilities. There are also a number of walking paths, pavilions, and a playground on one end. This park is often quiet during the week, but can entice people on nice weather weekends.

Greensfelder has an excellent selection of trails and plentiful parking. Equestrians, hikers, and bicyclists co-exist peacefully.

We stayed for one night camping with a trailer. The location is great: It is beautiful in the nature but still only a few minutes from the interstate. No reservation required. All state parks nearby were booked out, but at Greensfelder we were essentially alone.
