McKay's Greensboro

Wonderful place! What a trade store should be. Everything is cheap and affordable, only expensive things are stuff in perfect condition that are usually worth a lot. I go here all the time for various reasons.

So much to see!! Great prices on used media, toys and games. Accepts trades. Very friendly staff and ample room to look around without getting in the way (that's my favorite part)! Small parking lot so be patient. Even the customers are nice here! Can't wait to go back!

Pros:
-if you like the general “feel” of a used bookstore, then you’ll love McKay’s. Come here when you can plan to peruse awhile.
-they have every genre of book you can imagine.
-as well as tech (Nintendo DS, wii, PSP, apple devices, speakers, camera attachments, you name it. I even saw calculators???)
-large section just for music (CDs, vinyl, instruments, headphones, amps, etc.)
-toy section (with Lego’s and funko pops)
-board games!!
-comic books
-interesting murals/artistic graffiti outside the store

Things to note:
-depending on the day, parking is difficult
-this is a huge, used book store. Don’t come in here expecting Barnes n noble type feel. Befriend McKay’s.

I love this place. We come here every time we visit. They give you good value for what you trade and I always find something to buy when I'm here.

They have plenty of books, movies, and music. What I really love is there selection of toys and children's books. We bought gobs of level 1 readers for under a dollar each. I hate buying new books for something that will be read/destroyed so quickly.

They have a great selection on console games, board games, and jigsaw puzzles. So there is plenty to entertain the older kids too.

I love this bookstore in Greensboro! It’s located on Battleground Avenue and has a bunch of hidden gems. If you're looking for a better priced book/textbook, this is the spot! Be careful when entering and exiting the parking lots, it's off a busy street.

In true McKay's fashion this store presents a wide variety of books, music, comics, and toys. They accept trade-ins of all manner of media as well as electronics and musical instruments for store credit or cash. This particular McKay's is not as large as some others I've been to, but there's more than enough to go around. Very much recommended. (Some interesting graffiti around the store I included.)

I took my child here and she absolutely LOVED this place! They have such an array of books, games, random Lego pieces, musical instruments, movies and TV series. This place is eclectic and wonderful! The staff is friendly and welcoming. I will 100% be visiting McKay's again!

OMG!!! This is the place to be at. I came intown for a day and checked out this wonderful store. This place is a hidden treasure. I got more than I expected. My daughter and I spent hours in here checking out the books, music, and games. The staff was also so friendly, helpful, and informative. Next time I am in town, I am definitely stopping here.

V wide selection of books, audio and visual choices also games, puzzles, comics, and collectables.
They not only sell they also buy and give a much high trade value for items on their shelves. Great for avid readers.

I have loved this place for years. Great prices, friendly staff, great selections. Found some amazing music and vinyl records here. I also came here with the love of my life, and even though I miss them, coming here on occasion brings back all the best memories. Keep up the great business, yall. ❤

I always find something I want, even when I'm not looking for anything in particular. I could spend hours browsing. I like to take out of state friends here when they visit. I'm sad they're moving to Mebane. Its so far away. Now I won't have one close by.

There are literally a million books in this store, albums, CD's, DVD's, and board games. Very knowledgeable staff that obviously enjoy what they do. The book buy program is very good and they give you a dollar for credit or 50 cents for cash on what they buy back. They didn't buy everything but what was left (3 books), went to Goodwill. I can spend hours in this store just looking.

This is a great place to come to for books, music, records, musical instruments, video games and so much more. I came here just today and got 2 new books that I’m excited to read. They have a large variety of different generes to choose from like thrillers and mysteries. They also sell used electronics at a very cheap price. I definitely recommend this place to any book worms out there

Excellent experience here, they have a wonderful selection of movies and many other collectors items and solid customer service.

McKays is a gem. I found a ton of great jazz and musical theater vinyls (used, not the greatest condition) for $5 a piece. They have no shortage of super cheap books, and their store credit system is great for clearing out your bookshelf/closet of stuff you don't need anymore. Great vibes, great stuff, great prices.

We enjoy the variety of items they carry. Staff is helpful and kindl. Sadly they are moving to Mebane which is not close any longer. Not sure why they would relocate so far away. This place seems to be busy all the time.

Was shocked how big this place was. It was really nice to see how many other things they had as well. Many books and lots of cool toys.

I have loved to shop at McKay's Winston location before we moved to Greensboro over 20.yesrs ago. My child grew up on McKay's children's books 📚 and I went for international language novels , cook books and sold some books here too.
I rarely needed assistance, but found what I was looking for or went on cruise mode.
I can't believe the store is moving to Mebane, neither close to workplace nor home for me. Sad.

McKay's is fantastic!! Records and some games priced a little higher than I expected, but they price on rarity and availability it seems. I got some great DVDs at prices competitive even with Amazon and eBay. It's nice to still find good deals and great selection in a physical store. 5 out of 5!

Best store ever. Hans down my favorite store......of right now. A cool nerds heaven. I love it here. Like toy s us for grown ups
