We had a bad experience buying this house, the buying process itself was not transparent, when we toured the house the sales counselor asked us to wait until the beginning of the next month to get a discount of 6000 dollars. We were happy by the offer and we waited few days until the beginning of the following month, we did the purchase agreement virtually and during the meeting she surprised us by saying that she couldn’t give us the promised discount when we tried to argue she said you will lose the house if you didn’t agree so we agreed and completed the signing hoping to get our dream house. This was our first issue..
Second issue was with the inspection ,
When the sales counselor and the builder were not happy about the inspection report because there was a lot of problems to fix, the sales counselor sent us an email that she was unhappy and upset about the inspection visit, the builder was trying to underestimate the report and when they saw that I am not happy with that he promised to fix everything before the closing.
During the orientation, we found a lot of holes in the walls and scratches and unfinished surfaces the builder promised to fix all there and he marked everything with a blue tape.
One day before the closing I checked the house and none of the work was done the house was so dirty and full of dust and paint was all over the carpets and sinks.. I went directly to the sales office, when the sales counselor disrespectfully was laughing saying that I was there a head of time and I didn’t have the the time to finish ( that was one day only before the closing) I was about to decline this purchase, but my wife and kids were very excited so I decided to not let them down.
Today about one month living in the house, we are still having issues, we had the plumber coming to fix the water bibes. We had all the doors handles loose and main door lock was not working. The paint was not finished properly. Every day we find a a new problem.
On top of that we tried to contact the sales counselor requesting some information about the property and she totally ignored us .

Many Red Flags. Stay away!

I brought a home in this community about a year ago. The day of my walk through there was holes in the walls and the house looked like work was still being done.

The agent that sold me the house told me the natural area was maintained by the HOA. That was not true. Meritage sent a message out to get all the weeds out of the lawns. Which I did but know all I see is wild growth in the wooded area and it’s an eye sore. I spend a lot of money trying to maintain the weeds from taking over my lawn from that area. because it’s not maintained.

I am being sent violation notices because of overnight parking. The agent that sold me the house knew my situation. I told her I had a terminal ill sister, my son who at that time was coming home from the military he is a veteran, my daughter, and my wife. If there was a problem she should have said it before closing. I was given the rules at closing not before.

I was told to reach out to the agent to get a variance to park overnight on the street. I spoke with her she said she would contact someone. Now she will not return my call or text. She is now working at the Durham location according to her co worker that stated it nothing she can do to help me.

When I brought the house my wife wanted to live in Wake Forest now we are consider Raleigh. That was another problem.

I tried contacting HOA they only want to communicate by email so I am calling my lawyer to get the sell of the house reversed.

The houses in this community are put up very quickly low quality. There are a lot of houses but the pool being put in is only big enough for maybe 10 kids to play in comfortably.

This community is a joke they answer all calls before the house is sold after it’s nothing. But back and forth emails every time you want to improve your property it a problem.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! You have been warned.

My neighbor asked me to join in a law suit with him last year because of what happened to him but I said no, That was a mistake I should have but now I will speak my truth.
