Doc Brown and his team have always been top notch no matter if it's a small animal or large one. His services are tried and true and he has been the Dr for me and my families pets for over 20 years. He has never steered us wrong and knock on wood he never will. Thank you for all your help and dedication to families and their animals.

Dr. Brown accepted my pets as new patients and saw them the same day I called. Each time we arrived, he met us at the check-in desk and got right to work with them. With a thorough assessment, he gave me a diagnosis with simple, but detailed explanation. I left each time with needed medications and precise instructions for treatment. Overall, I am extremely pleased with Dr. Brown. His experience and knowledge base serve to enhance the way he interacts with both pet and person so that we both leave feeling well cared for 👍.

This will likely be a longer review, but it’s worth reading for anyone in the area looking for a vet!

I’m not from this area. A couple days ago I was driving with my husky mix, Maverick, from the Dallas area up to Idaho. By the time we got to Iowa Park around 5:45 pm, Maverick had started having some concerning symptoms—primarily very rapid breathing (8 breaths/second or so) and dry heaving/gagging with nothing coming up. I’ve only been a dog owner for a bit over a year and the dry heaving in particular was of concern to me. I pulled over at a rest stop and frantically googled vets in the area. Of course, with it being about 6 pm, pretty much everything was closed. I did come across this facility and noticed that google didn’t explicitly say it was closed, so I called the number listed on google with the hopes I could stop by and get Maverick checked out.

The vet who answered the phone (the owner, whose name I forgot in my panic and rush—I apologize!) let me know they were actually closed and that I’d called the emergency number. That being said, he still took a significant amount of his own personal time, after work hours, to understand my situation and work through what the cause could be. He was aware I was from out of town and would not be back. He understood he wasn’t going to earn a single penny from helping Maverick. But out of the kindness of his heart—and his clear love for what he does—he spent 15 or 20 minutes on the phone with a complete stranger to help an animal in need. If I were anywhere near Burkburnett on a regular basis, this would absolutely be my go-to. I highly recommend!!

And, for anyone wondering, Maverick just had some particularly bad anxiety. I’d worried about it potentially being something more serious due to the dry heaving in particular (which I haven’t dealt with before when Maverick has had anxiety), but I gave him a Trazodone pill (prescribed by his regular vet) and he and I were quickly back to our minimally anxious selves!

Thanks again to all the folks at Burkburnett Animal Hospital!!

Visiting my daughter and had a life-threatening medical emergency with one of my dogs. I thank God for Dr. Brown and his staff! They saved my Schultz’s life❣ Doctor Brown is absolutely one of the most honest, compassionate and caring humans..let alone veterinarians that I have ever had the pleasure to meet! I am so thankful they were there for my dog else he would not be with us now❣

My husband and I had to put our dog down suddenly and he stayed late on a holiday weekend to help us out. It was a hard decision, but the most humane one for our girl. It was a terrible day and we're grateful that he was able to stay open. My husband and I travel for a living so it's hard to find vets that are compassionate especially when you're not a regular customer. We're very grateful. Thank you!

Today has been a day. A Friday to be exact. My sweet 14 year old Westie has a sensitive tummy. So, when she threw up in the hallway on Wednesday night, I thought she had just gotten a bit pukey. Then this morning I woke up to very nasty poo in the hallway. She wouldn't get up. Couldn't stand, couldn't walk. She was panting and shaking and I was scared. I called my vet (PETS clinic) and they couldn't get her in. Said I would have to bring her to the after hours clinic which would cost $125 before any care could be administered. I'm not a bad pet owner. But I had no clue how much everything was going to cost and unfortunately, I am not rich. So, I called another vet she has been to (Western Hills) and was told again, too bad, come in after hours. There, it was going to be $300 for the visit before any care. Then, I called Colonial Park, $180. A Caring Heart, $150... none of these people gave a hoot that I needed care for my dog. I was okay paying upwards of $200 but I had no idea what was wrong and I couldn't afford much more than $250. I was crying and scared and I needed someone to actually care. As a last ditch effort, I called Dr. Brown's office. Thank goodness I did. The vet tech/receptionist was so very kind and told me to bring her right in. Off I drove at 3:45 to Burk. I didn't even have to wait. They got us back in a room immediately. Dr. Brown came in and did his exam, diagnosed my sweet girl and gave her some medicine. She was feeling better by the time we got home. This office isn't fancy. That doesn't bother me at all because the care and caring nature of these folks shine through. I would recommend anyone looking for good care at a reasonable price to go see these wonderful people!!!

This area is incredibly blessed to have a veterinarian like Dr. Brown available. My baby and I went to him when we lived there and he is truly top rate class care.

Dr. Brown is a miracle worker. About a year ago my 3 week old kitten got very sick. The kitten almost overnight became very weak, emaciated, and near death. I called all the other vets in the area.. None of them would help. He said he would see my kitten but couldn't guarantee anything. He treated him with fluids, antibiotics and a flea treatment. He gave me a milk replacer recipe that I still use for baby animals that are struggling. I followed his instructions and my kitten was back up and running around in two days. ( my sister's cat now).. He has a gruff bedside manner but he's a very talented and caring veterinarian. His staff is also first rate.

I rarely post reviews except when I feel they should be posted.. I am visiting from out of town and my dog suddenly started to act strange and had some pain. I worried about her all night and then I called at 7:00 a.m. and spoke with Dr Brown who answered the phone at that hour because he had all calls transfer to his personal line in the event of an emergency which I found to be absolutely amazing. He advised me to call back at 8am and speak with the office staff to schedule an appointment. I called at 802 and he answered once again scheduled me for an appointment for 8:45 treated my dog right away and with the utmost care. I was expecting to leave there paying a fortune especially with him knowing I was from out of town and that did not at all happen. I am beyond pleased with this doctor, definitely recommended

When you see something great, tell others about it.

Dr. Brown took the time to thoroughly examine my dogs. Talked with me about what has been going on with both of them. He talked me through what he was doing and what he was looking for. Dr. Brown recommended some treatments and preventatives to keep my dogs healthy.

His staff member was great. She was very professional, welcoming, and did a great job of multitaking. She even went as much to hold my leashed, and excited, older dog for me, so I could focus on Dr. Brown and my other dog.

Very Knowledgeable, Caring, and Dedicated. Dedicated to treating your animals as well as giving you the best information and recommendations to keep them healthy.

Highly recommended. Enough to say that I will continue to use Dr. Brown and his office for all of my animals needs.

It may be a small office, but they both have big hearts for animals.

I do not understand the negative reviews or those saying the doctor does not care. I called from an out of state number on a Sunday with an issue thinking my girlfriends nephews kitten was dying. I told him I had tried other facilities but was told they couldn't help us because they weren't the kittens primary vet. He asked a few questions and gave me a possible diagnoses. His recommendation worked and the kitten is doing much better!!!

We are new to the area and our dog needed a rabies shot. Her groomer recommended Dr. Brown. We were able to get an appointment the next day. He went through the list of vaccines that she had and gave her those that she needed. Dr. Brown and his staff are wonderful. They answered all of our questions. Highly recommend.

My small dog had been having trouble urinating for several months. Another vet said it was a bladder infection and gave her anti-biotics.
Did not help so I took her to Dr. Brown. He said it was probably a bladder stone and he confirmed it with an x-ray. He removed the stone and my dog is as happy and frisky as she ever was. He did a great job at a reasonable price.
