Pollo Alteño

First time I've been to this place I was a little bit disappointed what's their menu board the way it was positioned you drove right by it as you got to the window so not being there before I didn't know what I wanted and I'm already at the window and there wanting my order and they want my money. All was saved is though because I ordered the burrito and it was really good!

The chips and salsa were great plus the tacos. Excellent service. First time there, eat chicken next time

I'm from California where there is a Mexican Fire Grilled Chicken restaurant on every corner (just about), called El Pollo Loco. Delicious chicken! Since moving to OK four years ago, I haven't had Mexican Fire Grilled Chicken, nor found a restaurant that served it. Enter Pollo Alteno in Enid, OK.

We drove passed it many times, then one day it hit me; let's try it! Maybe it'll be what I've been missing!

The parking lot was fairly full as it was just before lunch, but we found a table easily. The restaurant is a just a little small, so try to get there before the rushes if possible. The menu is packed with yummy Mexican dishes, but my heart and tummy was set on fire grilled chicken. I ordered the 3 piece white meat plate with double beans, hubby ordered a chicken quesadilla.

HEAVEN!! This was what I'd been missing for 4 years! The meat was moist and tender, the skin gloriously crispy and "fire" tasting. Goodness, it was SO GOOD! Their beans were authentically tasty (have you ever noticed a lot of Mexican restaurants beans taste weird or bland? Not here!!)

Hubby liked his chicken quesadilla too. In fact, he liked it so much, HE suggested we go there a couple of weeks later. THAT rarely happens! My tummy was up for it, but sadly, my chicken was kinda dry this 2nd visit. But that happens, I'm not giving up on Pollo Alteno at all.

The prices are fair, the salsa is good, the decor is pretty sweet. My grandson was enamoured of their Dia de los Muertos skull picture (it was a colorful pic, not scary at all).

I hope you try this place, we'll def be back for sure!! 👍🇲🇽

We had the breakfast burritos for lunch at Lincoln today. They were very delicious! Burritos were big & full ! I would highly recommend you give them a try if you haven't. We are going to try their chicken next. Fresh and delicious!

Always delicious food, no matter what you choose. I love their green salsa. Everyone is always polite. One of my favorite places in Enid to eat.

Amazing breakfast burrito! I would recommend. Got the gordita with barbacoa on another trip, they did great with that as well.

We just found this little restaurant while we were visiting Enid. We had breakfast and it was delicious. We will definitely be making this a regular stop when we're in town.

Very good all around and it has a drive through, for quick pickup and go. The Costillitas Con Nopales is very good.

Best tacos I've had in Enid! Try some handmade tortillas and the chicken combo. The salsas are all delicious and everything is seasoned well. Will definitely come back, and recommend to friends.

With the New owners My family and I came to try it out and well the food is DELICIOUS!!!!! I had the QuesaBirria tacos and rice and they're just tasty! My husband had 2 chicken and 2 chicharon and 2 Asada and he gives 10 PLUS!! My daughter ordered the 4 pc chicken combo and it was a HUGE plate but soooo Good🤤🤤🤤 Plus the service was GREAT! She was attentive and just beyond friendly .

Not only the best Mexican food in Enid, this place is one of the best places I’ve ever eaten. Family run business. They are very friendly. If you want you want some great tacos for a good price, head here.

Maria and her family have a wonderful place here. This is a small family restaurant that offers authentic Mexican food cooked with love. You will not find better food or service anywhere else in Enid. The gorditas, tacos, tamales, posole, caldo de res, tortas, quesadillas, flautas and everything else we have tried have all been freshly made and amazing! The tortillas are made fresh as well as all the salsas she offers. There are different specials everyday in addition to her regular menu. Don't forget to try the agua frescas and the horchata, delicious and refreshing. Please give this place a try, you will not regret it!

I've been twice, felt like I got excellent value and service both times. The chicken tastes like I would imagine Los Pollos Hermanos would taste like in real life.
