The Restaurant at Second Mill Bar and Lounge

Food and service was outstanding. Very friendly server checked in on us often and the food was so delicious. Loved the fried fish and shrimp, hush puppies, pork chop, chicken and dumplings, Mac and cheese, and veggies. Everything was homemade and fresh. The price was great too for everything you get. Will be back for sure!!

First timer... very cozy inside, gives you that down home family feeling. The host and our waitress( Paige) were very polite and welcoming. The food was just like momma used to make ,I tried as much as I could and it all was delicious. Can't wait to go back on my next cheat day lol.

The food reminded me of something of my Grandma's kitchen ... Perfection on a plate. To make things better the waitress and staff members or amazingly attentive friendly kind and courteous. The buffet is a little pricey at $15 a person but for what you get it's well worth everything. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone

I regret finding this gem only two months before my departure; I should have savored its delights much earlier. The culinary experience is truly outstanding, with standouts like the delectable pork chop, vibrant greens, and irresistible mac and cheese. The impeccable service remains consistent, whether I'm enjoying a meal with family or sharing the experience with co-workers.

We live at the lake on the outside of Manning.Its about a 45 or 50 minute drive to the restaurant.we go regularly because it is that good.
We are both retired so My wife is not going to cook every day and I can't . the food is not bland, very flavorful, other restaurants in the area taste like it was poured out of a can with salt and pepper added.
I only suggest you try it You will be glad you did if you like real country food

This place has everything every day, and even more on Monday and Tuesday when they have all you can eat Crab Legs and Chicken Wings!
Best southern style buffet in town with excellent salad bar; plus a made to order menu with steak, pork chops, chicken, and fish!

The buffet bar & salad bar were great, selection is huge. Delicious southern cooking, however, I prefer my collards and cabbage without added sugar (a lot) so a little disappointed there... Otherwise, everything tasted like grandma cooked it.

I visited this place twice in one day on a Monday leaving with different results. It is all you can eat and the price is comparable to Golden Coral but with a limited menu.
I went around mid day-ish the first time ever. The food looked good and was very inviting! EVERYTHING tasted flavorful and good! I had the fried chicken (fried to perfection), mashed potatoes w/gravy (real red potatoes), collard greens (very well seasoned), cabbage (absolutely delicious), field peas and rice (so good)! It was a totally satisfying visit.
I returned that same evening after 5:30p and the same food looked different and not as appealing nor did it taste the same. My guess is the cooks changed.
I ordered the "All You Can Eat Crab Legs" special on Mondays for around $50. The crabs were small, looked pale and tasted salty! I couldn't eat them. My friends, who accompanied me, complained about their food not being as good as I had described it to them earlier. It was bad.
My take away is, "It is the cook that makes or breaks a restaurant". Go early, you won't regret it!

Our group had the buffet. The food was well worth the price. The customer service was awesome also.

The second time came, I just moved to the area, and I love , love everything about this place. The food, servers, and even the customers are all so friendly!!!

Laid back place with an upbeat atmosphere..Food was like you were at your grandma's house.. definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Second Mill is always great. Their food is excellent and seasoned well. The waitstaff is always very pleasant.

Shepherd’s pie was amazing

First time visiting this restaurant.
Buffet meat and trimmings.
Excellent salad bar( truly missed this during pandemic) + ice cream or banana pudding.
Restaurant was clean.
I work at Shaw AFB 4 days aweek, then home for the weekend.

Always a great experience at the Mill. The food, customer service, and atmosphere are all great. Now the selling point of the whole experience is the banana pudding because this is where I got hooked on it. You can either order from their menu list, buffet or do both. Cash, debit/credit accepted. There is a bathroom outside of the restaurant by the first entrance and also a bar. I've only been at the restaurant side of it. Support local!

Brandi and Alisha rocked it tonight. The DJ “The General” was involved with the crowd and didn’t want tonight to stop. Excellent karaoke tonight!!! Great job everyone!!!! Can’t wait to do it again next week!!!!

My family had an awesome Family Gathering at the Second Mill Restaurant. The attentive service is unmatched, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was so pleasant. This is a "must visit" when you're in Sumter.

I frequent the restaurant at least three times a week. It's my go to place for a great salad, but I noticed the food is really salty on the weekends. Other than that,I highly recommend it.

Initially I had a potential problem with a customer as I left my pocket book on the seat for a few minutes as I went the bathroom, she said she was gonna turn it into the front, I took it like she was meddling in my affairs but as I went to the front desk and complained about it, it almost caused a big thing, It wasn't too big but staff looked to resolve it as fast as possible , a guy came up to me, I didn't realize he worked there at first and he got in the middle of it and I was trying to deal with it. Looking back it almost reminded me of the Andy Griffith show lol. Then I realized after when I was eating that he was the one cleaning the restaurant.

Afterwards though things got cool, I continued to eat and the staff at this place is overall very helpful. after all no one wants a fight in their restaurant. And again I apologize to my waitress for having to get her in the middle. I just thought some woman was actually the one trying to get my purse thinking she might be the potential theif as I go to restaurants all the time and I mark my place usually to let waitresses know I am eating or not leaving or whatever. It's never been an issue anywhere. Apparently a lot of thieves are in that area I don't know and the customer may have meant well but sometimes I can't tell with people because I have been burned too.

Onto the food now, real good. I liked the hash, it tasted more like ground up pulled pork. The Mac and cheese, ribs and fried batter on the pork chop and chicken was really nice. Good sides and vegetables. I recommend!
