We were in town for a concert at The Capital Theatre. We were thrilled with everything from check in to check out. All of the front desk clerks were very nice and informative. When the concert was over we sat in the foyer in front of the fireplace to wind down a bit, made a cup of tea from the many tea, & hot chocolate selections, complimentary. Made it back to the room and was able to relax. I was very pleased and impressed with the cleanliness of the carpet throughout the building. When we were leaving they were starting to decorate for Valentines Day and got to take a quick picture in front of the fireplace.

Beautiful hotel! The room was comfortable. My view overlooked the street, which was always busy with cars going by. The lobby was comfortable and inviting. My conference was in Ballroom A. The HVAC worked too well, we froze for two days, which may have been the presenters preference. The hotel has a story and many believe it to be haunted. I don’t give a lot of thought to that however, I will say I was awakened at 2:03 AM to loud footsteps on the floor above mine. No doors ever closed just loud footsteps on my ceiling for about three minutes. I was told the following morning as I inquired about someone stomping around that history or the ghost story is it is the General walking around. I’m not a person who believes in ghosts but I can say I heard footsteps on my ceiling. No doors shutting or toilet flushing, just loud footsteps that vanished after about three minutes after they began. The only negative I have deals with being able to hear everything in the room connecting to mine. There was a connector door that was locked, which may have been why I could hear everything from the room beside of mine. I would stay there again and request a room that did not connect to mine. We walked down to Tipton’s for lunch which is full of history, as well.

Beautifully restored and maintained downtown hotel, Lounge and hotel with attentive, helpful& friendly staff. Our buffet was everything we had hoped for. My wife was sure to thank the Master Chef who carved the delicious prime rib and kept a watchful eye on the buffet and many of the diners!

Gorgeous historic hotel. In town for 2 days for a wedding (not at this hotel), and requested to change rooms for the second night. Barbie at the front desk was so kind and helpful, she made it happen for us. Thank you, Barbie! This place is also a wedding venue, 2 weddings were taking place the night we arrived; it seems like a fantastic wedding venue too. The town is lovely and charming as well.

The front desk staff are rude. However, the rooms were nice and the other staff and attendants were excellent. I would not recommend to families with several small children. It's a nice getaway for couples or for business trips.

Spectacular old hotel, definitely the most interesting hotel in Greeneville. The ghosts are offered for no extra cost. We found that room 403 has a ghost that makes you every morning at about 1:40 AM. This morning I was slapped awake at exactly 1:44 AM, so apparently a three day stay is more than the ghost can tolerate. If you’re up for that sort of thing, it’s pretty awesome.

My wife and I spent 2 nights there on 9/29 & 9/30/2023.
We have been to Greeneville several times before, as my wife’s sister lives in Afton, and we visit her occasionally.
We were very pleasantly surprised with the General Morgan Inn. Your entire staff was friendly, courteous, and kind. We were very impressed with the facilities, amenities, and decor. The decorations and furniture are classically elegant yet comfortable.
We did not have the opportunity to dine st Brumley’s, but we stepped in to view the bar and dining area, and thought it was beautiful. We were very pleased with the breakfast option at the Catalyst Coffee Company, and found that to be a delightful and comforting way to start our day.
In particular, 3 of your staff were beyond helpful, and I wanted to thank them in this review.
Kendra, Daphne, and Patricia (I hope I spelled them all correctly) deserve a big warm thank you. They made our stay enjoyable and memorable and, when we have a chance to visit Greeneville again, we will be sure to stay at the General Morgan Inn.
Please pass on our appreciation, and thank you for your part in providing us a great place to stay.

We had the privilege of celebrating our wedding reception at this beautiful historic Inn. The staff, food, service and attention to detail was incredibly on point and perfect. Angie and the staff’s attention to the decorations had me tearing up. The ballroom was absolutely beautiful. The food was highly complimented by our guests and Jeremy, the banquet chef was the bomb! Highly recommend for all celebrations - large or small as this place will surely make all accommodations for a memorable experience.

Great stay! Came in for a weekend wedding. Everyone we encountered was so nice! Clean room, beautiful lobby and friendly staff. We had a little maintenance issue with our blinds but maintenance came quickly and fixed it. The on-site breakfast place and restaurant were very good! Had we not been missing our fur babies we would have extended our trip!

Everyone was wonderful. It’s an old hotel, so noise could be an issue on a busy night. But room was wonderful, staff were all outstanding. Would definitely return

We’ve stayed multiple times for events. The rooms are cute but we have a friend in a wheelchair and for him they were a little small.

Very pleased with room (comfortable bed & pillows). The decor & architecture of the hotel is very classy. We rented the rooftop venue for a party (see photo) & highly recommend this for weddings, reunions, etc. Centrally located in picturesque downtown Greeneville.

We especially enjoyed walking to all the churches. It was amazing to see the cannon ball in one church!

Sunday evening we stopped in for a room for one night. Front desk was very nice. The room was spacious and comfortable. Slept great. Love the old world classic feel and the history behind the hotel. We didn't get to see the town so can't really rate the area.

A very nice, comfortable boutique hotel that is surprisingly upscale and charming in a beautiful small Tennessee town. It's worth a weekend visit.

My wife and I have loved staying at the General Morgan Inn for many years when going to the Bristol Motor Speedway or when I have a VA appointment and don't want to drive home after eating at the Farmers Daughter restaurant. It is such a beautiful nostalgic and majestic hotel. It is better not to have a room on the main street side because of the traffic noise.
