They have great service that takes the time to go above and beyond. My wife is hard to fit in hiking shoes, the gentleman in the shoe department spent near 45 minutes with her until she found what she liked, and he was upbeat and helpful the whole time.

Knowledgeable staff with great recommendations! I was going on a long sight seeing trip with just a couple of days of hiking and didn’t want to take my hiking boots. The staff listened to my needs and made a great recommendation for an On hiking shoe that was so lightweight and supportive that I ended up wearing it on sight seeing days too. And, it had the sole support I needed for my rocky terrain hikes. They are always this helpful.

This store is awesome! I love everything in this store. I always leave buying way more than I intend to. They have everything from kids toys for every age to cute gifts and kitchen gadgets. They also have a ton of close and shoes for outdoor activities as well as sleeping bags and coolers. I always make a stop here when I'm in the area!

I've been going here for years, it's always had a cool selection and most of the time I have to hold myself back from buying the whole store. It's good quality camping and hiking stuff as well as interesting little things that I never thought of until I found them in the store.

Great store, conveniently located in the Galleria area. Lots of variety in inventory from kids learning toys to serious climbing gear. Have plenty of discount racks available, too. Good pricing and selection. Best brands available at reasonable prices. Friendly staff.

Great staff and store. The employees actually are very knowledgeable of their products and want to help. Great place to buy shoes for everyday, hiking, running, working (no slips available) and anything else you want to do. Quality products!

Great place! The staff is supper helpful and there are plenty of them. They carry high end travel and adventure gear. Warning- stay away from the kids section or you will never have money ahain. They have awesome stuffed animals and toys!!!!

Had more variety of shoes in stock in store than REI with similar pricing. I enjoyed being able to try the shoe on for sizing rather than guess online and have to return them bc the smallest hiking book REI had was a size 9 women's. They have some comfy clothes and luggage as well as awesome stuff for camping or being outdoors.

This store is great for hiking/outdoors items: clothes, shoes, backpacks, and supplies. They have about 25% of the store dedicated to kids toys and games. They have a bunch of books and novelty knick-knacks and I have come here to buy quirky gifts for friends in the past. The huge variety of items for sale can feel a bit overwhelming if you're just browsing: there's stuff everywhere (organized, clean and properly displayed...just a lot of merchandise)!

Honestly, we would never visit this place. However, our young kids needed to use the restroom and this family business allowed us to. Once inside, we browsed their offering and found a number of things we would purchase. The no-pressure and helpful atmosphere makes us want to frequent this store in the future. We've added it to our list of places to shop for activewear, sports and kids learning. Thanks for running a quality business!

Consistent high quality merchandise & friendly helpful staff. They had just what I wanted in the right size.

Love, love, love this place. Customer service is spot on, helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. They had everything I needed for an upcoming trip (jackets, hiking boots, etc)....and when they didn’t have a particular size boot at either store, they said they would order it without any obligation from me. I also love that they have a great selection of things other than camp gear, especially the puzzles, books, and stuffed animals for kids. My baby was happily entertained while we were there as well. I don’t dislike REI, but Whole Earth has a much better customer experience, the things I needed, and similar prices. Furthermore, Whole Earth stays open later and they’re a local business. All wins in my opinion.

Just as wonderful as the shepherd location, smiling faces on the staff ready to drop the knowledge and detail of what you’re looking for ( and things you didn’t know you were looking for). This trip was for casual street shoes, a morakniv companion, Tibetan hand made incense and a book on all things carpentry.

They had some cool stuff. You have to look for a while to pick out exactly what you like. The workers were helpful and actually had good customer service (which is rare to find in Houston) like all 4 people put extra effort to help us find what we wanted.

Smartwool socks are expensive but high quality.

Full disclosure, I work in the home office but I really want you to come out and experience all that we have to offer. From flax styles for women, climbing gear for the climber or any number of toys any kid could appreciate. Come and enjoy the adventure.
