La Posada

Classsic neighborhood texmex spot. I’m so glad we finally tried La Posada and now it’s our go to spot! Their caldo de pollo is fantastic, so much chicken and full of veggies. The barbacoa is delicious, as are the fajitas. We’ve dined in and had take away and everything we’ve tried has been great. What truly sets them apart are the homemade flour and corn tortillas. I want to tell all my friend about this place, but don’t at the same time 😉.

My sister, cousin and I ate there today and it was awesome. The waitress we had was amazing! The food so delicious. Their salsa was one of the better ones I've tasted. Definitely will be a repeat visit next time I come to Austin. Well worth the price.

We had a great impromptu meal here the other day after the gym. Place was fairly busy for a Thursday night, but we sat ourselves immediately and got a round of drinks quickly. We ordered a taco salad and stuffed avocado that were fantastic and ~$10 each + 2 Mexican martinis and 2 glasses of wine for $50 total. Hard to find a reasonably priced meal these days.

Mexican food is delicious. Family friendly, they make you feel like family, super welcoming.

The enchiladas, mini Al pastor tacos, barbacoa, rice and beans are great! The salsa is flavorful and spicy which we love.

This is a South Austin staple and great weekly family restaurant.

Food and service is always awesome here!!! Try to come here a couple times a month. Staff is super friendly and the drinks great too! Can't beat the price and portion sizes.

Went there for lunch on Halloween. It has been over seven years since I last ate there. Food is still great. I always liked how it is almost not facing any traffic. That's just me. I know it was busy but my waitress could've been nicer and more helpful and asked me if I needed anything while I ate. It was twice she came to my table. Once to take my order and once to give the check. Would've gotten a bigger tip if she'd built customer/worker rapport. That was my actual lunch. It was fantastic! My dog ate the taco as I didn't finish it all. He was very satisfied. He gave it five stars.

Authentic Mexican atmosphere, they have 10 ounce Margarita perfect for lunch
First time here, lunchtime this restaurant was crowded but an easy wait.I mean what’s the hurry.I had chips and salsa which had a nice kick. A find for me.

I had a birthday dinner here and they were so accommodating. I had the mole enchiladas and beef enchiladas and they were great. The food took a while to come out but the waitress made sure we had water and chips and salsa to tide us over. I just went with my normal dish, but I hear the lengua tacos are great so next time I'll get those!

The quality of the food here is one of the best Mexican food in greater Austin area.

If you want pure Mexican Food, come visit them, you will enjoy the place and food.

Service here was really nice, the waitress are constantly around when you need them, won't bother you if you are busy eating.

I've been coming here for 26 years. Family run and you feel like family when you come in. Great margaritas and staff! I love their breakfast, lunch specials (crispy beef tacos(!), and dinner-steak a la Mexicana, Carne guisada, stuffed avocado. We love La Posada!

I've been eating here basically my whole life. I moved states away and always make sure to eat here when we come back to visit. Food and service are always good!

The bag says it all..."Thank you" and I mean it...This place changed my life on a hot day...Great Rita's and the Street Taco's are the best thing to ever happened to me in my adult life...

This is the best place for great enchiladas, fajitas, puffy tacos, real authentic Mexican home cooking.Been going here for years. A must try place if you haven't yet. Service is outstanding, great staff all around. Would give them a 10 if I could.

I've been eating at La Posada since Carmen, the owner, first opened it in 1993 or 1994. Consistently delicious food , excellent service in a warm family-run environment. A very affordable and quality dining experience!

Tasty food, we had breakfast 🍳🍳 steak 🥩 and eggs, potatoes were SO Good. Server was busy but very attentive to all her full tables & all customers. Not much of a wait time to sit. The place was packed on Sunday Brunch Rush. We will be back soon again.

Wow! This place is amazing 👏 very authentic. A must eat if you are in Austin!
