Regal Metropolitan

I have nothing negative to say about this theater, it was my wife and I’s first time and we loved it. The staff was nice and friendly, and we loved the old school appeal to it. They also have upgraded reclining seats which are comfy and have a convenient moving tray for your snacks. Also the theater was a great temperature. Most theaters I go to it can get warm but the AC’s here we’re on point. All around great experience and we’ll be back!

If you have never watched a movie in 4DX you are missing out! You get to experience the action such as punches and fight scenes and lighting, as well as air, Fire and Water scenes the seats move the action being displayed in the movie! It is worth every penny! It feels like a 2 hour roller coaster! Best way to watch and action or scary movie film! This location has this! Highly recommend it! The best!

Really enjoyed the theater. It was clean and employees were really nice. Only issue was the commercials........ every other commercial was about diabetes. I'm over here trying to enjoy my medium-sized popcorn with butter and my medium-sized drink. Now, I wish I should of got a salad and water. Do they even sell that here? 🤔

I tried the new 4DX experience...didn't quite know what to expect. Well there is a water feature to the seats, so if there is water or blood in the movie, you will get misted. It's wasn't too much water, and you can turn that off if you wish. Next, you get smells pumped in at certain parts of the movie to help it become a more emersive experience. There is wind that blows on you and puffs of air at the back of your head and neck when bullets are fired in the movie. The biggest effect is the seats move, not just a little either. If there is a car driving in the movie it feels like you are in the car too. Fight scenes have you moving in all directions and little jabs in the back of your seat too. At times I felt like I was on a mini roller coaster. There are extra flashes of lights matching up to the movie. I thought it was fun, not your typical movie experience. If you get motion sickness this might not be for you.

Purchased tickets online. When we entered the theater there was someone to scan the QR code and let us know which theater to go to.

Purchased popcorn, candy, and a drink from the concession stand. Our server was polite and had great customer service skills.

The icee machine was not working. The employee stated, “when it gets late the machine turns off by itself.” I didn’t want to be a rude or difficult customer so I didn’t say anything at the time. However, I would say (if that statement is true) even though it’s a great way to save energy someone should either disable that feature or reprogram it bc it was 9pm and showings were going to start all the way until 10:30 pm.

The seats were perfectly comfortable and were able to electronically recline using the buttons to raise the feet and lower the head of the chair.

Surround sound was awesome! It helps to watch an action packed movie to get the full rumbling effects. Can’t believe we’re on Transformers 6 with more to come!

Overall was a fun and enjoyable experience with the family.

The regal metropolitan is one of the best hidden movie theaters in Austin. Usually pretty empty but the art deco architecture is beautiful and the staff is friendly and everything is very well maintained. The seats although older are getting an update to recliners soon. My favorite theater in austin hands down. Please keep this place alive!

The renovated reclining seats are VERY comfy. Will definitely visit again.

4DX was a pretty rad way to see Dune Part 2 for the second go! Nice having a theater so close to home too!

A bit high $$. We bought 2 tickets for a 4pm show, a medium drink, medium popcorn and a bag of M&M's and spent $49.50.
On a better note, the staff was friendly and the theater was clean. 🙂

I used to work for a big name theater chain, and I only went there to see movies. Today I went to Regal cuz I get a discount on tickets through my job. And omg what a difference! So clean! They do everything for you, the butter, drinks etc...and they have little tables attached to your recliner that holds your popcorn and drinks, not to mention the large drink is huge!! I was thoroughly impressed! The manager happened to be there then the gm
called on the phone while I was complimenting her. This is my theater from now on! Excellent job guys, please keep up the good work!

This place is always clean, never has any lines for concessions, and is never more than half full. Went to go see The Little Mermaid on a Friday a week after it opened and there were only three other groups there. Seating is roomy, and some theaters have reclining armchairs. This is the only place my wife and I go!

Love the looks of this theater since we moved to Austin 22 years ago. The new remodel and seats are really good and comfy

This continues to be one of my favorite movie theaters. The addition of recliners really increased the appeal of this location. The staff were friendly and were fully supportive of my desire to drown my popcorn in butter to my heart's content. The theater was clean and so were the bathrooms. I love the pseudo art deco decor.

It's going thru remodeling in parts, so it should only get better. The sound was excellent, and they completely dimmed lights, so the screen was bright. The audience was very into the film so it was a great experience overall

This was one of my favorite theaters. I'm so glad it's getting an amazing remodel. The new seats and theater are very modern. The family loves coming here again.

Nice movie theater. Comfortable seating. Great counter service members. We went on Tuesday, and the lady at the counter recommended us to download the app, we got 50% off on everything ( drinks no discount). Highly recommended!
