Buttercups Bakery & Cafe

Couldn't believe this was the only sandwich shop open downtown! But glad we stopped in, it was the perfect amount for our lunch craving and the service was great! They had so many cute cupcakes and good baked items to choose from for desert. We had the chicken salad sandwich with homemade fries. The fries were really good with a seasoning on them. We just went with lunch today, but will definitely be back!

We were on an antique shopping fun day with friends and stopped in for a late lunch. We all absolutely loved their burgers , however the hand cut fries were awesome! Crispy outside and soft inside, not greasy at all!
Of course the cookies and cake were also delicious !

Had lunch here and was really surprised how good it was. This in not your hole-in-the-wall, small town cafe. The menu is big and the desserts are to die for. We had sliders with fries. I think the fries were just cut from the finest Idaho potatoes. The sliders tasted like they were homemade and just came from the oven. The meats and cheeses were great, and all was served very hot (and pretty quickly). A cupcake and pecan pie to-go topped it off. This place is worth the drive from Tyler, even if you have no other reason to go to Gladewater.

Nice little cafe and bakery in Gladewater by all antique shops. Absolutely enjoyed, service was great. My first time ever eating here I had chef salad it was awesome..

This place! You have to go. This mother and daughter's team are the best secret in East Texas. The food is awesome! The pies are what your grandmother made! They are super nice. The customer service is off the chain. I love this place!

Ok, get ready to swoon. The owners and staff really care. They make everything there, fresh, and it shows. THE BEST onion rings ever. I mean the best. Those onion rings are do delicious, perfectly crispy but not greasy. Fantastic. We were also blown away by the BLT and the patty melt. The fried pies are also straight addictive! We tried the apple and apricot but wanna go back to try every flavor. As we ate lunch, a few folks came in buying a dozen cookies. I see why, this place is on point. It's just perfect small town eatin.

Pleasantly surprised at the delicious food. Great burgers and the fries are a cut above the run of the mill. Worth stopping in if your in the area.

Love the food! I wish I grew up with this mother daughter duo! They work as a team and let me tell you the moms food is AMAZING! I wish I was raised on this woman food lol the Daughters baking is just as AMAZING! Ive taken my older children here and they agree the food is amazing. Just be patient with this restaurant. It's small with minimal seating and little help but I promise it's worth the wait! The cheese lovers burger is to die for 😁💜💜💜

Delightful eatery on Main St. in Gladewater, TX. We tried the hamburgers, fries and onion rings. Everything was delicious! They have a great menu and wonderful story. We took a delicious piece of coconut creme pie for the road! Great food and excellent wait staff! Highly recommend!

Best burger ever! The buns are homemade Hawaiian Rolls into a hamburger bun; delicious! Everything is made by hand and fresh! Even the fries are hand cut. Don’t miss this gem!

Husband got the chicken fried steak plate. He said it was superb and I tend to agree with him because the only thing left was a piece of the bake potato peel and crumbs. I got the chicken fried steak sandwich and homemade fries. It was excellent. Very tasty. The service was great!! We will definitely go back. Probably tomorrow! Can’t wait to try other items on the menu. Also... the day before this, we went in and just had desert. The homemade chocolate and pecan pie was so good!

I was visiting the area for business and i stopped in to grab a bite the atmosphere is nice and simple you can tell people keep it clean. They don't have a huge menu which is neat. I just ordered a western barbecue burger it was cooked well and I loved meat to fat ratio in their patties. I'm not sure if they make their own buns for the burgers it would be cool if they did. If you are in the area stop by!

Just one last note they have a option to pay with card to tip and i'm not sure if that goes to your waitress so ask before you tip!

Best food i ever had, burgers were AMAZING, food nice and hot, all fresh and juicy, burgers were thick and were prepared using high quality ingredients. Bacon was real and cut in thick slices across the burger. The bacon fries and fried pickles were amazing. I highly Recommend to anyone looking for amazing food.

Wow! Our first time to eat here and we will be back. The fried pickles were awesome and my hamburger and fries were to die for. The sourdough bun just melts in your mouth. They also have fresh cut fries!! Worth the stop.

This is such a yummy little place! The sweet tea is phenomenal and the food is all homemade and delicious. The building itself is super quaint and the desserts are adorable. All in all a very unique place with a lot of Southern charm! Stop in if you're passing through and/or in need of a great meal!

I would give 10 stars if possible! I was in town for 2 days. The lunch was so good yesterday, I went back today. Glad to say, simply impressed. Definitely will return next time I'm in town. The cheeseburger was mouth watering. The coconut pie is wonderful! Good job ladies

What a jewel of a place! Google maps had me circling around downtown, but once I found it (along the main road that goes north and south) WOW. Hands down the best cheeseburger I have ever eaten! I ordered the Cheesy Cheeseburger and no fries.

Friendly staff, clean and homey atmosphere. The food is always hot and delicious. Our kiddos love to get bluebell ice cream after our meal 😊
