Amazing place with great brunch, walked in without a reservation and was warmly greeted and able to join in brunch. Delicious food. Had the special Halibut cakes, my husband the croque madame. Amazing cocktails. Trey was an awesome server as well! Chocolate mousse was to die for. . . Definitely visiting again when we're up here.

The French Goat was recommended to us for Sunday Brunch after a weekend at the Greenbrier. We could not have been more pleased!! First, the restaurant was clean and inviting, while classically decorated for Christmas. Our server was Trey and he was so pleasant, attentive and knowledgeable and really enhanced our experience! We ordered the basket of French pastries to start and they were light, flakey and amazing!! French press coffee went perfectly with them. The menu sounded so amazing, that we ordered 3 entrees for 2 people. Everything was seasoned to perfection and absolutely divine! 10/10 would eat there again!

The French Goat is absolutely amazing. The waiter was beyond wonderful. He was spot on on all recommendations. The food was phenomenal from appetizers to dessert from champagne to after dinner hot tea. Highly recommend this dining experience.

Always a wonderful atmosphere, wonderful friendly service, and delicious food! Reservations are preferred. The French onion soul, escargot, and cheese plate are all wonderful appetizers.
The old fashioned is great!
I requested my filet pink with no blood, i receiveda well done steak. It was still delicious despite it being overcooked. I added a picture of the medium rare filet my partner ordered.

Huge fan of French restaurants and this one does not disappoint. The atmosphere is gorgeous, relaxing. The staff are just lovely. All the items we ordered were fresh, and delicious- made second reservation mid meal.

We had a phenomenal experience at the French Goat this past Sunday evening for dinner while staying at the Greenbrier. For half the price, the service and quality of food blew the Greenbrier's main dining room out of the water - the French Goat was leagues ahead, and was what the Greenbrier should have been.

We were the first to arrive, so we were greeted at the door, and our coats were taken and hung for us by the manager. Our waitress was immediately with us, and was super kind and very knowledgeable of the drinks and dishes.

We shared the escargot, both ordered the French onion soup, and had different entrees for dinner. I had the house made rotini, which was excellent and al dente. My parter had the duck confit, which was absolutely delicious. We shared the creme brulee, which was perfectly done. We both had the Twist cocktail, which we both loved.

We could not have been happier with our experience, and if we do choose to return to the Greenbrier one day, we will absolutely be returning to The French Goat. Maybe one day the Greenbrier's main dining room will be on par with The French Goat.

This was an experience that will stand out my my memory for quite some time.

To summarize: the dishes were well composed with ingredients of exceptional quality and prepared with flawless technique.

The fois gras was prepared lightly seared and in a way that I'd never experienced before. It was both incredibly rich and decadent while also feeling balanced and not overly heavy.

The mushroom bisque (with local mushrooms) was the best that I've ever had.
I could probably eat it everyday for the rest of my life and die a very happy death.

The duck confi was also a "best ever" and perfectly golden crisp on the outside while all the meat was still meltingly tender and juicy.

Even the cocktails managed to be both innovative, yet still connected to their classic roots....and both delicious and perfectly executed.

The staff was knowledge and personable with made the experience approachable and comfortable without being over-bearing or intimidating.

Turely perfect meals are an uncommon gift and I am grateful for this one.

My wife and I went here today to celebrate her birthday. I expected the meal to be good but it exceeded our expectations in every way: I just got back from a trip to Europe and this place gives anywhere I ate on that continent a run for its money. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and amazing food. We will definitely be back.

This was my first time ever trying French cuisine. Was a little intimidated by the prices, however I must say that I was not at all disappointed. In fact my expectations were beyond exceeded. My only complaint is that I didn’t know what to order because everything looked so good! The whipped goat cheese appetizer is very good. The coffee was also pretty good. However, the real show stopper was the duck Benedict. I had never had duck before so I was skeptical of trying it especially since it is on the pricier side. But my god is it worth every penny. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The duck wasn’t at all fatty. The English muffin was as light and fluffy as a newly formed cloud. And not to mention that heavenly, golden hollandaise sauce. In my opinion the hollandaise was just a tad bit too buttery, but that’s just me knit picking. My mother ordered the quiche. I’m not the biggest fan of quiches but one bite of it completely changed my mind. I will 100% be trying to go there every Sunday for brunch!

One of my top favorite meals I've ever had. Every time I've been here it has been incredible. The service is amazing from people taking your coats at the door to making your dining experience entertaining. Their steaks, fish, pasta, everything is soo delicious I always look forward to another meal here!

It was one of the best dinners we had in the USA. French kitchen here is delicious. I will recommend this place for sure.
First is a duck Foie gras. Second is cheese plate. And last two is duck confit and steak frites.

Brunch was excellent. Service is superb. Love the ambiance - it's elegant, yet laid back and genuine all at once. Fig and goat spread was a great way to start the meal. The hardest part was choosing an entree. Finally, the French press coffee was on point.

Happened upon this little porch while walking through the neighborhood looking at the surrounding houses.

Walked up past the goat wearing a hat, to the door, and in we went on a whim. Little did we know we found a wonderful brunch spot!

" do you have a reservation?", asked the gentleman from behind his mask. "No, sure don't. Just walking by and thought we'd stop in."

"No problem, we have a table ready outside on the porch if you'd like."

What had we found? The only place in town that makes mouthwatering dishes, second only to my wife's cooking :)

If you are looking for that "wow, i can't believe how good this is" restaurant, then stumble into this little home away from home, and prepare to smile.

Thank you and your generous staff for treating my daughter and I to a memorable brunch!!

My husband and I visited this place for our 1 year marriage anniversary and we traveled 3+ hrs to get there. If this place is what fine dining is defined as, I am sold. The interior of the restaurant was tastefully decorated, and had an ambiance of home. We did not partake in any alcoholic beverages but the wine list was extensive. We did however try the faux jito which was better than any ETOH I've ever had. The food was exquisite, and unique. Every bite was bursting with flavor and moist. Even the fries (frites) had a unique flavor. We were sad to see every portion end. I savored every dish we had down to the bread. I had the steak and frites. The sauce over the steak was heavenly, I've never tasted anything like it. Our server was attentive and efficient was definitely more educated than my husband and I on manners and tableware. He brought our desserts out with candles for celebration which was a nice personal touch to the meal. Order the Mousse au chocolat for dessert, it was divine. The prices are somewhat expensive but worth every penny. I have took all four of my household to a steakhouse and paid more money for way less quality in the past. I am already dreaming of when we can go back.

I had a terrific meal at the French Goat today. It is an absolute MUST if you are in Lewisburg. As someone with TONS of dietary restrictions, they were careful to accommodate and made it very comfortable to adjust my order to suit my dietary needs; but still get a wonderful, French-style meal with all of the delicious flavor and excellence that everyone raves about. I will be back next time I am in Lewisburg. THANK YOU!!!

At first I felt underdressed because my husband and I were coming off the highway. The restaurant is very elegant, but once we entered, the hostess made us feel very welcomed. I had the Duck Confit and it was delicious. I will definitely be back.
