The only reason the atmosphere is missing a star is because Ben had to leave and he's the only one who knows how to light the fireplace. What's up, Ben?

Kidding aside ... we had an excellent dinner with a great atmosphere and service at The Humble Tomato.

The building (circa 1782) was quaint and cozy for a cold rainy Friday night ... if only Ben ... (sigh) salads and pasta were excellent.

Visiting Lewisburg for the weekend and our first meal out did not disappoint.

The humble tomato was an amazing dine in experience, so many opinions on the menu and they're all enticing I didn't even know what to pick. My wife got the tomato soup and I got the meatball sandwich and I was so full but I couldn't stop eating. I loved it!

I absolutely loved this restaurant. My 1st evening was chicken fettuccine and chocolate cake. It was DELICIOUS!!

The next evening, before heading home, I stopped in for a pizza. Again, i left extremely happy and full. Definitely recommend.

Stopped after a conference at The Greenbrier. Sat outside and enjoyed a pizza called The Diana (house tomato sauce, house cheese blend, pepperoni, Angelo's sausage, portabello mushrooms, red onion and kalamata olives) and a small Caesar salad. Service was EXCELLENT and food was delicious. Highly recommend and will return!

We decided to try a new place in Lewisburg. When we travel we ALWAYS look for local places to support when dining if possible and time allows.

The atmosphere of the place was quaint and very inviting. Our waitress was very attentive to our requests. The menu options had great variety. We chose meatballs as an app, 10” pizza (8 small slices, which was plenty) and a Caesar salad. All of the food was delicious! The prices were very reasonable. We will be returning when in the area!

Ok so the newtons law pizza is OUTSTANDING and the crust is literal perfection for anyone that enjoys a thicker, fluffy and crunchy soft flakiness like that of pan pizza. I got the gluten free spaghetti and it was pretty good. The house made marinara is tasty. The humble salad with the tomato vinaigrette was fresh and delectable. We were traveling from KY back to VA and stopped here on the way home for dinner. Since we will be making this trip again in the future, we will definitely stop here just for the pizza and salad! Our waiter, Taylor was very kind and humble. We tried the garlic knots - while they weren’t what I’d typically expect from other pizza places at home (greasy, buttery and super garlicky) I enjoyed dipping them in their marinara and I absolutely loved that they were healthier and easier to eat than those of home pizza joints. Thank you for putting all this amazing love into the landscape of this space, it’s an entire delight to enjoy this food outside! Beautiful!

Delicious food, great atmosphere. Our waiter Jordan was most attentive. We sat on the porch overlooking the colored umbrellas and into the vibrant downtown area. It was a perfect evening. Next time I have to save room for the cannolis. They looked fabulous.

Only had 24 hours in Lewisburg, and I’m happy I chose to stop here for lunch! I got to choose the option of sitting outside in these cute red chairs, and it was a beautiful view & experience! I ordered the Chicken Caesar wrap, with the tomato soup and a coke! Everything was so yummy :) The hostess and waitress who helped me (6/23/23) were so kind!! 🥰 thank you ❤

Dinner here was very good. I tried their pesto pasta with sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms (my first time trying pesto). It was pretty good. Wasn’t overly strong but it could’ve used more cheese. The humble salad is really good, and the tomato vinaigrette is honestly my new favorite salad dressing! My other party member had the steak and cheese and it was also very good. The overall atmosphere is very relaxed and homey. My only complaint is that my waitress didn’t check up on us during our meal, so I was unable to request more cheese for my pasta😅. Overall great time though. Definitely eager to try their brunch!

Get the bloody Mary. It's quite delicious and the salt on the rim is perfection.
The house salad with tomato vinaigrette is top notch good. Loved it.
The pepperoni roll is good but my suggestion is to ask for the tomato vinaigrette to dip it in because that taste, in my opinion, was much better than with the marinara.
The pasta, surprisingly, was a bit bland in my opinion. I got the shrimp diavalo. I asked for an extra cup of sauce and added some salt and that was the trick. Much better.
Service was great. Atmosphere was lovely. I definitely would recommend this one.

On a business trip to Lewisburg, we discovered this local gem. We were seated at a table in the bar area, and the bartender was our waiter. Service was excellent and attentive. There were several others eating or having a drink at the bar. We shared the Bacon and Brussels as well as the Blue Sulpher pizza and found them both to be outstanding! They had a nice list of WV craft beers, but we did not sample one this particular evening. Thus is definitely a restaurant we will return to and try more of thier fresh and delicious options as we are frequently in the area.

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Virginia Beach. It is a little pricey ($70 with tip for our family of 4). Food was delicious, service was great and atmosphere was homey.

Stopped by the Humble Tomato while on a motorcycle ride to enjoy a fantastic WV Autumn day. This place was a nice change from the usual fast food joints. Menu has a variety of pizza options as well as other Italian dishes. Outside seating was available but we opted to sit inside and enjoy the county atmosphere. Prices are typical for a craft style restaurant. This one is worth another visit in the future.

This place was recommended to me by a friend of mine. Considering I am not really a fan of pizza on a usual basis, I do love a good artisan pizza and thought I would give it a try. Let me just say ... I am so very glad I did because I was not disappointed.

To begin, the atmosphere is very comfortable and has a subtle uniqueness to it. It's relaxing, and even though I came here by myself, I didn't feel odd or out of place.

Next, service was delightful, as well! Very friendly and helpful when it comes to ordering! It was easy for me to pick what I wanted, but my server still checked in to see how I was doing throughout my time there.

Finally ... the food. I ordered the Newton's Law pizza, changing out the basalmic glaze for hot honey instead. Oh. My gosh. I thought that my favorite pizza place was Pies and Pints, due to the uniqueness and good flavor of THEIR pizzas. Boy, was I wrong. The Humble Tomato provides stellar crust thickness and texture, a good ratio of toppings to cheese, and just overall, a well-roundedness of flavor in their ingredients. I was blown away. I can safely say that this was the best pizza I've had in my life yet! (And it was still so good both reheating it AND eating it cold at home, if you were wondering! LOL.)

I definitely hope to come back here soon! ♡ You all made me a believer in good 'za!

mom and I loved our lunch here!
- this is the first restaurant I’ve eaten in post COVID. it was clear the restaurant was taking health very seriously, and I felt very safe and taken care of, even eating indoors.
- cesear dressing was the best I’ve ever had - the local garlic used gives it a real lovely punch. strong recommend!
- meatball sub was v good
- great service and beautiful space!

After stumbling upon this amazing dining experience I can say that I will be back! The food was incredible. The salmon was cooked to perfection and I can say that it is easily the best piece of salmon I have ever eaten. I also sampled my wife's entree, the lasagna, and must say that it too was to die for. The building and ambience is warm and inviting. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and extremely attentive. If you are ever in Lewisburg I highly recommend that you visit the Humble Tomato.

The Humble Tomato need not be humble because it is smacking good! That tomato soup is so fresh and light. I was ready to drink it. The grilled peach caprese is perfectly balanced and refreshing with the sweetness of the peach, the savor of the mozzarella, and the tartness of the tomato. Then to swirl it in the balsamic glaze..ah! I ordered the pesto linguine the first night. It was good. I would add some garlic, parmesan, and a bit of black pepper more. The lasagna my mother had was melt in your mouth. Bolognese was well flavored and not salty. Their marinara sauce is perfect for any dish it's in or on. I wanted to try everything but only had 2 nights! The salmon was cooked well and still moist. Risotto had that nice slight chew to it and cheesy texture. I could go on forever. I am coming back for that pizza next!
