We were pleasantly surprised when we walked inside this museum. It was like a trip back in time. So many amazing things to see from the past and everything was presented so nicely. It was worth the hour trip we took to get there. There are outbuildings as well, including a general store, a one room schoolhouse and a church. Lots of old farming equipment also. Highly recommend!

Wonderful place. Looks small from the outside but will take u 2 hours to see everything. Tools, clothes, world war involvement, the original school (which also had the teachers living quarters), an early church, horse/steam driven machinery and blacksmith shop.
Great staff don’t miss this one. P.S. it’s free

What a treat! A charming self guided walk back into time. Located on hiway 98 in Foley/ElbertA area of Alabama. Plenty of parking and wheelchair accessible. Friendly staff and donations are accepted and entry is free. Occasionally on the weekends they have blacksmith demonstrations so I recommend calling prior if interested in this activity. Hours are generally liberal like 10-5. Well displayed and quite large. They also have some outdoor structures and sometimes live music. A wedding chapel is also available by reservation. A small gift shop with some hand made items included. If this helps click a helpful and enjoy the journey!

For a small town museum, you could not ask for more. There is more than just the main museum depending on the day you go you may encounter the local blacksmith for example. There is an old chapel (available got weddings) as well. Plenty of antiques in there, well organized and displayed. There is a lot of history packed into one small space. There is also a video you can sit and watch. The staff there is friendly and informative. Please bring some cash to leave a donation. There is also a gift shop with books, pictures, etc. Closes at 3pm. Say hi to Galaxy while you are there (the local cat 😺).

We visited here as part of the Harvest Host program. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was full of nostalgia for me, seeing some of the items my mother and my grandmother used back in the day. Lots of easy to read signage and stories interspersed throughout the many rooms full of exhibits. This is an American treasure! Highly recommend.

It is very cool and unique as far as the items and setup to explain and show what life was like in Baldwin county over the past years and also provides binders full of notable articles and things that have happened in most major towns/cities in Baldwin county. Whether it is just to sight see or learn about the counties heritage I would highly recommend the museum to everyone.

The museum's staff person is incredibly nice and helpful. They have a lot of volunteers who put time into the exhibits. The museum itself gives visitors an amazing picture of what life was like in the early 1800's.

Outstanding place to discover the history of Baldwin County! They now have a blacksmith on site. A must see stop during Christmas for all the different country Christmas trees!

Very large museum. It looks smaller than it is or they just have an t h area and farming and early trades. There are little riddles here and there that have clues in the immediate area, which are fun. Staff is real friendly and tell stories.

Very interesting exhibits inside, plus a country store, schoolhouse, church, and more out back. They have old tractors, a blackmith, still, and even an outhouse out back as well! 😊
