Cobalt the Restaurant

We tried a number of restaurants in the area on our trip to Perdido Key & Cobalt was hands down our favorite on all fronts! Get there a little earlier than you think you need to because people pour in around 6p on the weekends (we went on a non-holiday weekend Friday night). I called at 5:45p & there was no wait. By the time we parked & checked the front the wait had jumped to an hour. Which thankfully we only waited for about 25 min. There were 10 of us. Also if you don’t make it into their smaller parking lot, there is paid parking under the bridge so be ready for that. We got to try a variety of dishes as well as the kids meal. All of it was delicious! Loved the shrimp & grits, chicken, pecan crushed fish. The kids burger comes on the most delicious bread ever. Great place to watch sunset too. They have live music & a bar area while you wait as well as a nice selection of pastries in the front at amazing prices. We tried the key lime tart, some cookies & the chocolate mouse tarts. 10/10 recommend

I really enjoyed my visit to the Cobalt. My cousin and I arrived there in the evening a few hours before sunset, and we chose to sit outside with a view of the water. The food and service were really good.

Around sunset a guitarist/singer began to play songs at the outside bar, so we wandered over there to have a couple of margaritas and to enjoy the music.

About an hour or so after dark we began to get cold, and noticed fire pits had been lit up in the outside dining area. So we grabbed our drinks and headed towards them to enjoy the warmth.

All in all we had a super enjoyable evening, and we highly recommend the Cobalt to others.

We stopped by for dinner on our anniversary and got maybe THE best seafood meal ever.
The BBQ shrimp appetizer is the best. Fresh blackened shepshead was perfectly dressed out - no dark meat. Best cheese grits I've ever had. Highly recommend the fried apple pie!
Our server (Todd) has a very good-natured and hard working young man. We will be back!

Food was amazing, grilled cheese is a must-try! Gorgeous views, relaxed atmosphere. Feels upscale, but very reasonably priced. Perfect brunch/lunch stop after your dolphin tour. 10/10 would recommend.

Not to be missed dining. Beautiful setting inside and out. Masterful chefs extract the complimentary nuances of vastly different ingredients, creating sensory exuberance. The entire staff is friendly, kind, helpful, and patient. Very fortunate we live in the area, so we can return soon. Our new go to place.

2 friends and I were in Orange Beach for a girls birthday trip. Our last night eating at Cobalt, we had more than a delicious meal. Zachariah gave us top notch service as if we were honored guest and that was before we told him it was our birthdays. So, unexpectedly and thoughtfully of him, we received 2 bday desserts that were not even on the menu!!! This wasn’t your typical Saturday night meal out in Orange Beach, it was a full dining experience we will not forget! Thank you!

We were greeted with smiles by the employees at the front of the house.
Cody was our waiter and when we made our reservations for New Year’s Eve they only had a table left for seating of eight and they let us sit there the two of us to celebrate our anniversary . We had a pretty window view of the sunset.
We were extremely pleased with how Cody served us. He did not treat us any different as if there was six other people dining there with us.
They had a New Year’s menu only.
We really enjoyed the cobalt caviar and the sea scallops with the secret rice. I believe I know what it the secret rice is.
I had that rice in Spain.
To finish the evening we enjoyed the mixed berry ambrosia with chocolate pieces .
Cody again was our waiter, but others came to deliver our dishes to us and we’re all very professional .
We will definitely be back when we come back this year to visit and will love to try their pizza as well .

We went early (5ish) during spring break and wait was not as bad as I expected. Weather was nice so we sat outside with a view a relatively small marina. While we could not see the band they were excellent. Although, I’m not sure if that is a regular or house band. The Better half said her Paloma was excellent although the patron based drink was $18. For dinner I had the surf and turf Ribeye and blackened Amberjack (suggestion for management: put a little garnishment on the side surf plate or better yet half or quarters of a lemon. My dish was excellent. My daughter and better half both had shrimp and grits and raved about the generous skewered shrimp. It’s not cheap but definitely one of our favs in the area so far.

Cobalt the Restaurant - 1000% recommend if you want one of the best meals of your life! 😍

Fresh Catch entree was blackened Cobia, topped with Cajun cream sauce, served with parmesan risotto and smoked Cheddar Bacon Mashed Potatoes

Oyster entree was Garlic Parmesan Chargrilled Oysters, topped with garlic butter and savory Parmesan cheese with grilled French bread.

Crab Claws were delicious, lightly fried and served with cocktail sauce.

BBQ Gulf Shrimp was to die for, Sautéed in a Creole butter sauce and served with grilled French bread.

Nice evening out and a great atmosphere. The food was good, and a signature cocktail. Our server Abram was very helpful and had great recommendations. We were there to see the sunset, and it was beautiful.

We have been here many times and love the variety of choices on the menu. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is so beautiful and relaxing. Mostly the food never disappoints.

I can’t wait to come back! Everything was delicious - I had the crab soup and crab cakes. It was the perfect vacation meal!

We sat outside to hear the music. Service was steller. Food was great. Music was fantastic. The water view was perfection.

Food is absolutely delicious. Nice outdoor dining with live music and water view. Good kids menu with butter noodles, spaghetti, fries, and more. Fish sandwich was delicious. Steak delicious. Hamburger was delicious, too. We had a 30 minute wait on a Saturday night and a little longer on a Wednesday after the dolphin cruise got out.

Bri was awesome, best waitress we had in Alabama! We can't wait to go back and visit and wow is this place beautiful! We waited 15 mins and they told us a half hour. Bri said tourist season can be up to a 4 hour wait! I can see why. Right on the water, live band, great seating (even just for waiting around at the bar). Sunsets would be beautiful here as well. The atmosphere was so incredible and very romantic feeling! Can't wait to bring my boyfriend here.

Dining here, at the referral of several locals; so glad we asked! Off the beaten main road path, don’t miss this one! The atmosphere is trendy and casual, the view spectacular, the staff out-of-their-way friendly, varied menu with excellent choices of food that is served to perfection! We had a wonderful experience at Cobalt! Excited to go back! :). The food was delicious, the view was stunning, and the atmosphere was perfect!

This is supposed to be the best restaurant in the area. The atmosphere, service, drinks and food were all excellent. They have an awesome outdoor bar with seating overlooking the water and a stage with live music the night we were there. We watched a terrific sunset from their outdoor bar area while waiting for a table. We waited for about an hour for a table, they really should consider reservations to make it more convenient for their customers.

This place is such a gem. I was alone and Sat at the bar. They were so busy, but we kind and attentive. The drinks were delicious, made with fresh ingredients, not just a bunch of simple syrup.

I had the avocado and tuna stack which was fresh, tasty and delicious.

I also had the crab and scallop cakes which were lightly breaded and really fresh served on top of a yummy bed of coleslaw.

Finally, I had a cup of the creamy crab bisque which was so tasty. I was hoping that it might be a bit more of a chowder with whole corn and crab pieces, but it was all blended. It was still delicious.

There was also a really lovely band playing on the Thursday night that I was there!

Would recommend this place to anyone.

This is by far my favorite spot in orange beach. The food is fantastic and the views are gorgeous. Can’t beat an everyday happy hour either! When sitting on patio in evening you can see lots of dolphins, atmosphere is 10/10! Can’t wait to come back.
