Funderburk's Gas & Diner

This was a great place to stop and eat lunch! We had the tenderloin sandwich with fries and the pizza burger with homemade onion rings.
The food was amazing and the staff friendly and attentive.
Do not let the the convenience/gas stop turn you away or you’ll miss out on this gem of a place.

This is a small cafe inside a convenience store with the gas pumps out front. The food was excellent and the service was good. The atmosphere was friendly, and I got the impression that a lot of locals come here for coffee and gossip. Their breakfast menu is robust and this place is just far enough from St. Louis for me to be hungry. I'll be back.

A Gem! Fresh food made with care. A 4 minute diversion off I-70 that was the highlight of our 2300 mile drive from Utah to NYC. The perfect burger with homemade bun, hand battered onion rings - for me, fresh cut fries - for my daughter and the hospitality one would expect in a place like Pocahontas, Illinois. All of this in a gas station/convenience store/old-school-diner.

Very down to earth place to dine in, or carry out, food is cooked great and taste wonderful. Fried chicken was hot and cooked just right.. hats off to the cook! Waitress was nice and has a good personality. Highly recommend this place for your dining .

The food was great so was the service. Alot of it was home made and we got alot of food for a great price. ♥😋

My Husband Will says nobody can top their country fried steak breakfast meal.
The breakfast is top notch and a great dinner menu as well, I love the fish special on Fridays. 10/10 experience everytime we go here for dine-in or take-out -Kate

Great food, eclectic menu

Stopped in here on our way to Ohio not sure what to think. Ordered the homemade fried chicken and it was honestly the best I have ever had!! My daughter got a club sandwich with onion rings. Those onion rings were delicious!! The sandwich was good too. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stop in here again!

Great atmosphere and service in the middle of a road trip. Greenville volunteer FD person recommended we try a Horseshoe (pork tenderloin served open face with fried and cheese on top!) and the Skee (Ski?! A citrus style soda) drink, both area flavors. Biscuits are flaky.

People are very nice here. Especially the woman working the register. Great onion rings!

Great small town diner! Very friendly people, excellent food and great specials.
They also make terrific deli sandwiches to go. Can't pass up this place anytime I'm traveling through.

Great little surprise. Certainly not fancy but friendly service and simple but very good food. I had the breaded tenderloin and grilled zucchini and my wife and I split onion rings. All of it was sooo.. good

Great little local place. I don't know what makes one sandwich better between restaurants, but the Reuben here was absolutely fantastic. Enjoyed every bite

They do not make diners like this anymore. My husband and I were traveling through on a cross-country move and stopped here on a whim. Amazing home-cooked EVERYTHING! We ordered Reuben’s and they were SO GOOD! Homemade potato salad was also excellent. Super bummed we didn’t get any cinnamon rolls for the road. We will definitely stop here again when driving back to visit family.

Ordered the white fish. Hand battered with cornmeal crust. Absolutely delicious. Coleslaw was excellent not your usual fare. Very tasty. Ice tea was excellent and I got one to go!

Quality home cooked meals. Great place to stop along the highway when traveling. We always make a stop when traveling between St. Louis and Chicago.

You never know what your gonna get when you eat in a gas station. This place was really good it is an actual diner that just happens to be housed in a locally owned filling station. Make sure you tip in cash OR remember to ask the cashier to add the tip when she rings you up.
