Blue Springs Cafe

Came for pie and coffee and had to order a meal after seeing other plates! First off, the pie was very good. The food is family style with helpings of biscuits, beets, and slaw while you're waiting for your shareable sides of green beans, real mashed potatoes and white gravy. The chicken and dumplings were excellent. So much comfort food! Very pleased by fast service. The only downside is that it is cash only.

If your looking for friendly service, amazing home cooked food, and great family setting look no further. This place makes you feel like your sitting at grandma's with friends. Wonderful experience hands down.

What a treat to have found blue Springs Café. There are no signs on 70 indicating that food is available. I don't know why I decided to pull off. Also, the restaurant is down in a pocket of the intersection to the south as you exit the highway.

I feel like I stepped into a time machine from 30 years ago. Inside the restaurant is very cute, country Café. As you enter the door, you were immediately greeted first buy these ginormous gorgeous pies. We didn't have room for any, but it looks absolutely fabulous.

Diner is pristine, clean and the service is excellent. Food was perfectly prepared. The green beans even had some nice chunks of salt pork. Wonderful mashed potatoes, and gravy.

We had a great lunch! Food was good and filling, service was great and they were fairly busy. The pies looked fabulous, even though I didn't have room for a piece, and they are made fresh every morning. Yum! Will definitely go back.

The food is really good, and tasted homemade. The biscuits were soft and kind of more like a roll, but delicious, and even more tasty with the apple butter. Cole slaw was good, green beans were good, mashed potatoes and gravy were good. I had chicken fried chicken, which was on the specials menu, and it was cooked great and tasted great. You get your choice of entree, and you can get appetizers, and they bring a bunch of sides. I would definitely come here again, and would recommend. They also have a bunch of pies. This place is cash only, but they do have an ATM. I think they might accept checks, but would recommend to call to make sure.

This restaurant is definitely worth the trip as we live an hour away. This was our second time coming here and made the journey just for Blue Springs. The food is absolutely delicious home cooking. The pies are outstanding!! The service is provided with welcoming smile and attentive care to our dining needs. Restaurant is very clean and well maintained.

The best fried chicken and fried cod dinners we've ever had! The chicken was fresh and cooked to perfection. The fried cod was crisp on the outside, and flakey on the inside. Mashed potatoes and gravy were homemade and well seasoned. The cherry pie was outstanding! Real cherries, not canned. Even the iced water tasted incredibly good!!! (I asked for more in a to-go cup).
If you ever missed the good old days when a restaurant served fresh food prepared and served by people who actually take pride in what they do, this is the place to go! Am only sorry that we live so far away and can't return more often.

I can't say enough about this place . The food is spot on the pies are delicious and the staff is fabulous. My new number one restaurant when traveling to my home town . Absolutely 💯 love it.

I just had Lunch at this place and everything was good. I wasn't feeling well so I was craving a soup. I order a chicken noodle soup and it was surprisingly flavorful with enough chicken. Then I had a slice of apple pie that was delicious 😋 the staff was friendly and the atmosphere is very relax.

This place deserves 6 stars!! It's a family style restaurant. They provide the sides...coleslaw, beets and the best biscuits around!!! Choose your entree, and they'll bring green beans and mashed potatoes and white gravy. And for dessert, they have pie...10 or 11 different kinds. This is a place worth going out of your way to visit!!!

We went last weekend for the first time. Everything from the customer service, the meal, and the pie was amazing!! Can’t tell you enough how friendly our waiter is.
The portions are hearty and the prices are very reasonable .. can’t wait to go back.

In the winter morning, when the roads are foggy and you can’t see Mike’s in front of you, you see the signs for the blue springs cafe. It’s a wonderful place, warm, with plenty of booths and tables right off the Illinois highway. They serve their meals family style, so make sure you dig in with friends! Their foot high pies are true to their name, though a solid half foot comes from the meringue. The staff were super attentive and helpful, and the food itself warms your soul. It’s a great stop on a road trip, so long as your journey takes you there.

Casual dining, extensive menu. Friendly, homey atmosphere. Lasagna and fried chicken were excellent (served with sides family style) The biscuits with apple butter were to die for. They're known for their pies - six cream pies and ten fruit pies. We can recommend the lemon cream, apple and blackberry. Our server was very helpful and really made the experience exceptional.

First time I've eaten there. Food and service was excellent. Had the cheese burger with bacon, mushrooms, and onions...best I have had recently. They take cash and checks only, there is an ATM there. Will definitely Italy eat there again.

This little gem is absolutely amazing from the food to the pies to the service. You would have to visit to understand just how this place works.

I got chicken and dumplings from the specials. Good portions to fill you up, but not too much you can't finish. Everything was fresh, and homemade tasty. Comfort food, but first class. I had chocolate chip pecan pie for the dessert. The server heated it for me since it was a chilly that day. Best gooey pie I ever had. Yep, a great place I have had a few plates in and always leave happy and full.

This place was so charming and beautiful! The staff were very prompt and the food was spectacular! I highly recommend the friend chicken!

We had heard about the pie. Then read it had good home cooked meals. We had clam strips and crab cakes with sides. We had coconut pie and blueberries pie. All of it was very good and very good service. Prices were good also.

Pies are homemade with whipped meringue, Heavenly and delicious!

Fried Chicken was tasty through and through, flavorful, moist, fresh and delicious.

Country Fried Stake was golden and crispy to perfection, don't forget the white gravy.

Meal complete with unlimited outstanding sides, home made mashed potatoes, fresh picked green beans, light and tasty cole slaw, and so much more!

Have heard a great place to eat, checked it out, food was absolutely great. Big crowd at lunch time, waited under 5 minutes for a table to be ready for us to be seated. Will eat there again when traveling in the area.
