Pere Marquette River Lodge

I've been on three guided trips with PM Lodge. Each time with a different guide, each time I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The guides are knowledgable, personable and have a lot of patience. Highly recommend

We had such a lovely cabin stay at Pere Marquette River Lodge. We were greeted on arrival by a very friendly and helpful staff. Then went to our adorable cabin with a full kitchen. It was cozy and warm and just so cute! I was so impressed.

Our guide, Jory, for our fishing trip was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, incredibly personable. He knew all the places to stop for my fiancee to catch Salmon. Which was a bucket list item for him! The lunch he prepared was delicious! We will definitely be back and next time I think we will do a week instead of a weekend.

Casey was our guide for the day. Our experience was top tier. Casey was a pleasure to be guided by and was super knowledgeable & helpful. My father and I had an absolute blast. The staff at the lodge/fly shop was fantastic through and through. I didn’t book a room but definitely will be the next time around. Thank you to all the staff and casey for the wonderful experience. You have made life customers of my dad and I.

Great steelhead fishing trip with Frank Willetts (owner/operator) of the Pere Marquette River Lodge. Trying cold conditions, but Frank kept us entertained, warm, well fed and on some fish. Highly recommend. Added plus is the well stocked fly shop.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the PM River Lodge for a fly fishing trip, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff who made me feel right at home.

The lodge itself is nestled in the most picturesque location, with the most crystal-clear rivers. The scenery alone was worth the trip! The accommodations were comfortable and impeccably clean, providing a cozy retreat after a long day on the water.

Speaking of the water, the fly fishing experience at PM River Lodge was truly exceptional. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. They knew all the best spots and shared invaluable tips and techniques, making it an unforgettable learning experience for both beginners and seasoned anglers.

I had the opportunity to catch some trophy-sized trout, and the thrill of reeling in those beautiful fish will stay with me forever. The guides ensured that every moment on the water was enjoyable and tailored the experience to my skill level and preferences.

Overall, my stay at PM River Lodge was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of breathtaking scenery, exceptional fishing opportunities, knowledgeable guides, and warm hospitality made it a truly unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this lodge to anyone seeking an outstanding fly fishing adventure.

Needed a place to stay near Baldwin. We rented the house right by the river. It was really neat. The large window in the family room was just feet from the river. The house was well appointed for a fishing destination. Complete kitchen and appliances. Large dining table and a foseball table. The staff were great! They all were very courteous and responsive even when we couldn't locate the thermostat because we set a cooler in front of it.

We plan to visit again with a larger group when we'll have time to spend on the river.

Fished for a day. Wesley was our guide. Had a blast. Caught a few, lots of fish. Very knowledgeable about surrounding area, and environment.

Fantastic experience. As a first timer Steelhead fishing, the guide service was fantastic. I learned so much. I learned how to Chuck and Duck and how to position the fly corrrctly. How to set the drift so the pattern goes right where it needs to be. I couldn't ask for more. Great trip and accommodations.

Can't rate the rooms because we just stopped in for info and gear. The retail store was awesome for anything you may need for your fishing trip and the 2 ladies working the counter were very friendly and eager to help! Booking cabins here for next year.

A group of ten people stay in the cabins ever June for the last 7-8 years and it's always improving. The staff is amazing! This year they went above and beyond! Let me just say that my wedding ring was on the ledge in the bathroom while I showered and fell into a slot between the log cabin wall and the drywall! One of the owners and Mike the maintenance man were right on it. After Mike took all the trim and ledge off and realized he couldn't access it from there, he even went as far as cutting a hole in the drywall! Mike was amazing. He was so considerate and didn't give up! Oh...I got my ring!!!!

Thank you Pere Marquette River Lodge for a great trip. We appreciate it very much. Our guide Miles did a terrific job. 3 nice steelheads and a 22” brownie in the boat. Many more hooked but kept on going. Thanks!

This was my first time in the area and the lodge! I was completely impressed! Had issues with the toilet and front room heater. I expressed my concerns with the staff and they immediately sent help. Also gave me updated status when the workers were on their way to fixed the problems. The staff were kind and very accommodating! They go the extra mile in customer service! The cabins are clean and the beds are comfortable! I felt like I was at home! I do look forward to my next visit !

Didn't stay at the lodge but took a trip with Miles yesterday. He did a amazing job putting me and my buddy on tons of fish! Very knowledgeable of the rivers he fishes. We lost count of how many fish we caught!! Highly recommend him for a fishing trip. We will be repeat clients. Couldn't be happier with him as our guide.

Frank Willetts, and his team of guides and store/lodge personnel, provided us a fantastic experience.
The store was well stocked and the staff was knowledgeable. The lodge was organized and provided what we were looking for. There was some confusion regarding the kitchen clean up, but certainly not a deal breaker.
As for the guides, Frank, Casey, and Kyle were fantastic. All knew the river well, offered quality suggestions, and were professional and polite. Also good cooks. They understand customer service.
Great experience, worth the trip from southern California. Thanks guys.

Great lodge friendly staff overall excellent. Guides here are top notch, will give you opportunities to put fish in net rest is up to you. Great selection of orvis gear and plenty of flies.

This is definitely a trip to remember for my son and I. The accommodations were clean and very nice, anything you might need is available between the lodge and the fly shop right next door! I can't say enough about our fishing guide (Casey), he went above and beyond to make our trip a great experience, he got us into the fish, he definitely knows this river like the back of his hand and i would highly recommend him, I have also fished with the owner (Frank), he will make sure you have a great experience and get you on the fish, they are all class acts and love to have fun!! Don't hesitate to book with these guys, you will have an experience of a lifetime and won't regret booking with them!!

Staff did an excellent job, rooming was clean and remodeled, great fly shop with a lot of selection and expert advice on gear. Frank is a top notch guide/teacher/and business owner and Faith handled the background logistics of my trip seamlessly. I wouldn't fish or stay anywhere else in Michigan.

Fantastic trip with Frank. He was great with my son who was about to turn 7 the next day. Frank got him to land a king salmon. Very patient instruction, very helpful. Delicious lunch. We had a day we’ll always treasure!

Thank you to Frank and the crew. The PM lodge is the BEST in Baldwin. The reinvestment in the lodge and cabins is apparent and the Fly Shop looks great!! See you all next year!!!
