1884 Fly Shop

Recently stopped in and was really impressed with the gear they offered. Josh was friendly and patient answering my new to the area questions. I've been fishing small streams in the UP for 50+ years-can't wait to learn the area with these guys. And, they have a good selection of good cigars.

Earlier I had a post and referenced a competitor to 1884 Fly Shop. The review reflected an unpleasant experience I had at the Baldwin Fly Shop, a competitor and definitely NOT 1884 Fly Shop. My mistake.
Dan the owner, reached out to me fortunately and helped me find the error of my way. He's a great guy, go in and see him or any of his highly trained staff!
Best fly selection east of the Mississippi, so it is said.

Great fly shop. Dan really knows his stuff and is very helpful. It really shows seeing his enthusiasm for the sport. One of the nicest fly shops I've been in and has all the latest gear. You won't be disappointed!

Amazing selection of flies and gear. However what sets 1884 apart is Dan and his crew. The guys at 1884 are always happy to help answer questions, and set you up for success. They deeply about the PM and surrounding rivers and trips and are all about doing it the right way. Can’t recommend this shop enough!

Nice place sharp well put together. The owner has a vast amount of knowledge on the subject. This store specializes only in fly fishing! But they do have a nice little cigar humidor selection for you to relax without on the river.

Fly shop is stacked with huge selection of flies, latest apparel, and a great selection of rods and reels. My favorite fly shop to visit in Baldwin to get an idea of what’s being ate. However, best part of those shop is the people, Josh who is a local amd passionate angler always eager to share info and share in overall excitement on the PM amd steer you in right direction. Recent experience allowed me to text back and forth with shop while on the phone after running out of fly that was being ate. Able to place and order and pay for it while on the river. Best customer experience I’ve had in quite a bit. Cheers 1884

Great shop with a good selection of gear and flies, the best in the area. The guys there are super knowledgeable and friendly as well! Only thing lacking here is that there aren't really any tying materials.

The guys at this shop are hell bent fly fishermen and they are very knowledgeable about the surrounding rivers of Baldwin. This shop has everything you need to get started in fly fishing.I visited this shop one time and can't wait to go back and hang out and tell fishing stories.

1884 is a great shop with something for everyone. This shop has an excellent variety of gear for trout, salmon and steelhead. I was impressed with their selection of flies and knowledge about swinging flies for steelhead. They also had some Tylenol for sale near the counter that really improved my morning. We got some great information and hope to be back soon.

Haven't been up there in a long time wanted to see if the restaurant was still open I see it's gone have to find another one

I had a great experience here. Kyle was very helpful in setting up my fly rod. The trouble he went thru was very helpful to me. He gave me alot of helpful tips.
