The staff and owners are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable (heated and air conditioned). This is on Market Street, which is much quieter than Main but within a 2 minute walk of the night spots. Great breakfast, afternoon coffee/tea and fresh baked cookies, overall just a wonderful place. Little details like tissue flowers on the kleenex box, pillows arranged - something new each time the room was tended. We were there near Halloween and the place was decorated and fun! We had the "Turret" room and would just sit on the couch in the windows and enjoy the sunsets. Very relaxing, and again, the hosts and staff are amazing.

Staff was kind along with the other guests we met, the breakfast can get a bit hectic when everyone's hungry. It's an old house so if staying on first floor, you can definitely hear upstairs, but am used to loud noises at night living in a city. Room was clean and bed was comfortable, would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay. This was our first time staying the night on the island, despite visiting many times over the years. Everyone was friendly & there were many breakfast options. I loved the porch & garden the most. I didn't want to leave after having coffee on that porch! I'm hoping to return next summer.

My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon back in May of 2022. It was one of the highlights of our whole trip! We had a beautiful room with a large whirlpool tub. Everything was clean and well cared for! The food was always delicious and we enjoyed mingling with the other guests! It was situated just a couple of blocks from the main road so it was nice and quiet but well within walking distance to anything we wanted to see! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Overall very happy. Hosts are superb and the building is well maintained. The location is one of the best, a one or two block walk to almost any location in the main commercial district. Blanca provides an excellent breakfast for guests. We will book again. There are quite a few stairs. If you need no stairs check their other property up the street called Hart’s.

By far the best bed and breakfast available on the island. Super clean rooms with fresh soaps. Property was constantly being cleaned by staff throughout the day. Coffee and cookies till 5. I could probably spend a whole day on the front porch people watching. Tucked up on a hill behind flowers. Breakfast was fresh buffet style. The hosts allow you to leave your bags there for the day so you can continue to enjoy the island. Maybe a 5 min walk from starline dock. 10 min walk to grand hotel. The taxi will also pick you up at the door so if you want a fancy dinner at the woods restaurant they will accommodate. We will be back in September.

This is the first B&B we've ever stayed in, and we feel it set an unattainable standard for future stays elsewhere during our travels. Everything about this place is charming, from the rooms, to the location, to the incredible managers Dave and Blanca. The room was spotless and made up both days of our visit without request. The front porch was a popular hang out for guests, and even though it was raining for most of our stay, the roll down clear vinyl panels kept the space cozy and dry. The grounds have some of the most beautiful gardens and landscaping I've ever seen (along with a few surprises poking out of the shrubbery!). Located one block off the main street and convenient to shops, restaurants and the ferry docks, you cannot ask for a better location. The slow clip-clop of horses pulling carriages and wagons passing by the Metivier provided a pleasant background ambience all day and well into the evening. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to this beautiful island, we will certainly try to get a room at the Metivier for our stay.

My wife and I stayed here for a long weeked on the island and really enjoyed out stay. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. The service in general is great. Breakfast was delicious every morning. The location is off of the main drag and quiet but still very convenient. It might become our go-to place on the island for future visits.

Superb innkeepers and staff, super comfy beds and fresh white bedding, great location with easy access to everything.

Lovely touches like all day coffee, fresh cookies at 3, and artfully folded towels and roses to welcome you home.

Gardens are gorgeous surrounding this vintage victorian Inn. When you need a break, the front porch and parlor provide a comfy place to just read or talk. It’s just a short walk from the Metivier Inn to the famed old Grand hotel on the island.

This was our first time staying on Mackinac Island. This bed and breakfast was clean, quaint, and an enjoyable experience. We loved the spacious front porch to sit on and closeness of all the stores.

Metivier Inn is well positioned about half way down the main drag, but one block back. My wife and I like this because there was still the clip-clop of horses going by, and plenty of bicycle traffic, but at a slower pace than Main Street. The Inn is impeccably clean and the room decor is individually chosen for each room. Everything I saw is stylish and well done. I also appreciated the high quality heating/air conditioning my room had. It was far superior to most hotel rooms you'll ever stay in. The star of the show for us was the beautiful porch. It's large and covered with comfortable furniture and high top tables -- perfect for enjoying morning coffee. It's also the social hub of the property. I had nice conversation with other guests, the Inn's owners, and Blanca and Dave, the husband and wife management team. All were lovely people. One more thing: I'd be remiss to not mention the fabulous flower gardens which are meticulously cared for by Diane, who along with Ken, are the owners I met. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely wonderful! Blanca and Dave (the managers) were extremely accommodating and helpful. We've been to the Island many times, but this was our first actual stay on the island and it couldn't have been better. The Inn was beautiful, clean and quiet which is exactly what we wanted for a relaxing stay. The wife is already talking about planning our next stay!

We just checked out, and it was wonderful! The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable with a duvet and soft sheets. This big house was very accommodating with lots of seating inside and outside. The gardens were gorgeous. The staff was amazing and social. The breakfast was fantastic. They served cookies and fudge at 3. It was the perfect spot on the island. One block from downtown, yet quiet and not as many people.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at this charming B&B and we were over the moon pleased with our experience! David, Blanca and their team were warm and welcoming hosts! Our room was meticulously clean and comfortable and the grounds were stunningly beautiful! We were provided a homemade breakfast each morning and sweet treats in the afternoons. This lovely inn offers a quiet getaway while located just steps from Main Street! We enjoyed watching the island wake up each morning from the expansive outdoor veranda. Rare to find accommodations which are perfectly represented by their web presence. Definitely will return!

Blanca and her husband were very accommodating. Their a wonderful couple. Good people. The Inn is top notch. Very clean and comfortable. The decor and ambiance is very satisfying. Along with a satisfactory Continental breakfast. We stayed there this week for two days and were very satisfied. Unless things change, we will be customers for life.

We had booked five rooms for our family vacation. Each room was different. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts really were some of the best we ever had and we have had many hotel breakfasts to compare too. The beds were comfortable. I was told by one of the kids that the pull out couch mattress even was comfortable. It is a historic hotel so you have all the charm and interest that comes with that. The gardens were past their peak, but it is obvious that a great deal of care and work go in to the artistry of them during the season. Would recommend to a friend.

I wish I was greeted at every Inn I stay at the same way my wife and I were greeted at the Métiviere. It was a very kind, warm welcome. After being shown to our room my wife and I were more than happy with the size and cleanliness of it.
Breakfast was good, with plenty of seating. Though the best seat was on the front porch where my wife and I enjoyed coffee and a cookie each day. The grounds are beautiful and everyone there was very friendly. We will be back, and we highly recommend this inn to anyone staying on the Island.

Simply delightful! - We felt very welcomed and the place was spotless. Very, very clean and well maintained. Breakfast is especially good. Room 10 has a great view of the gardens and is silent. No iron in the room. Coffee is available all day for free. Enjoy the sunrise and sunset on the front porch or Hill top garden. They have coffee available all day from 5:30AM until 7:00PM. If you want decaf, they can make that too. Just ask as the staff is ready to help out with anything and are exceedingly helpful and friendly. The halls and rooms are very quiet.

A beautiful bed and breakfast ideally located near the center of town with a large porch to sit and watch the horse and carriage tours as they passed by on the street. The owners wife maintains the gardens herself and was planting lovely flowers when we arrived.

The host and hostess, Blanca and David, were friendly and accommodating. They allowed us to store our bags at the inn before and after check-in and they allowed us to check in as soon as our room was clean.

The room itself, number 10, was medium to small in size and overlooked the back garden. It was clean and the bed was comfortable with a soft white duvet and sheets. The shampoo and soap were also very nice.

The cleaners were very friendly, especially Zack.

Breakfast was magical. We sat in the common room near a window overlooking the street while we ate. I recommend the homemade porridge and the cheesy potatoes. As it was a cool morning, the owner himself stoked the fire in the common area.

Value for money with the special we received: Excellent and unbeatable!!!!!
