Dykstra's Auto - Allendale

Our daughter is a student and she took her car there because the brakes were making noise. They quickly found the problem, communicated what may need to be done and their pricing. She was up and running in less than 2 days because they knew she was moving home for the summer. Fair price and honest people.

I stopped in with a nail in my tire, the team was extremely helpful and got to work on it as soon as possible. They were kind enough to even wave the charges as they said it was an easy fix. It’s nice to have these folks serving the local community! 👍👍

Jeremy was awesome and accommodated his busy schedule to fit in a flat tire that I had. Especially with it being the busy season. Awesome service, great communication, and a job well done A+++++++

Everyone has their own experiences at each place of business, and in my personal experience the guys at Dykstras have always been super kind, fast, and efficient. Last time I was in there they saved me over $50 from my first quote which was really cool of them to do. They’ve always taken care of me the first time around, but if I were to ever have an issue with their service i’m sure they’d fix any problem as soon as it arose.

I am a GVSU student and (sadly) have had to get 2 new tires within the past 2 years and Dykstra’s Auto has such an amazing staff who have helped me with these issues and I would highly recommend them to any fellow students in the nearby area!

Dykstras auto has for 2 years offered that of encompassing, understanding, and empathetic services for me as a native Detroit attending GVSU. Their staff is patient, meticulous within their evaluations, and comprehensive when delivering services geared to help GVSU students. I have fixed my alternator & battery, gasket, and bearings with them to which they have worked to diligently find the source of my problems. As well as offer competitive pricing and student discounts, each of my car concerns on my 06' Lexus. Highly recommend their services, especially if you are a Laker.

-Circling back about 2/3 weeks later, was lead on false pretexts into authorizing a fix totaling nearly $1.100. Under the agreement of a payment plan, get the car back and notice immediately cannot go over 60mph. They had my car for about 2/3 weeks and didn’t notice it despite replacing the bearings (the other had went out). Get a call from the manager who basically blames me the customer for a managerial misstep. Asks me if “i let a prescription leave the pharmacy that someone hasn’t paid for”. Lecturer me no other auto shop in the area does this, so now nearly a month later they still have my car for a fix I entered into under false pretexts. Proceed with caution

This was our first time going to Dykstra. We were recommended by a friend, and we will definitely be recommending to others! We called originally to have our rear differential replaced, which the wonderful staff was more than happy to accommodate. Upon further inspection we were made aware that we didn’t need the diff replaced at all! The honesty, along with the staff going above and beyond at every opportunity (not to mention being so kind and gracious when I called them 10 times) made our experience with a stressful situation, truly stress free. So happy with the service. Took my car to multiple garages and was told nothing was wrong when the car was burning through batteries. Took it to Dykstras and they solved the issue and explained what and happened and how they fixed it. After a year of trouble my car is running again perfectly! Thanks!!

Dykstra's in Allendale helped my GVSU student get back on the road with confidence. She was very worried about how her engine was running. The technicians spent quite a bit of time diagnosing the issue, checking all possible causes; they even had a second mechanic drive the vehicle for verification. After all that effort, the diagnosis fee was surprisingly affordable. They did not recommend any unnecessary repairs or upsell anything. They are very responsible and fair. I would refer anyone in the area to trust their kids vehicles to Dykstra's Auto.

Jeff and the staff get the work done as promised with skill, honesty and without upsell. They guarantee their work and follow up as needed. Hansen Dyke and now Dykstra have serviced my vehicles for over 10 years.

I was very happy that they were able to squeeze me in on a Friday! They diagnosed the problem and fixed it immediately and reasonably! This was for my daughter's vehicle .

While my daughter is 6 hours away at college she had car issues just prior to winter break and her drive home. Not knowing any repair places and taking a leap I called Dykstras since saw the shop off campus which appeared well maintained. Although I didn't mention the winter break issue. Dykstra's and Jeff my contacted treated my daughter, the car, and me with the greatest service I could have asked for. I have never set foot on the property, only spoke to Jeff and over the next four years I'll be having all repairs for my daughter with at GVSU being done by Dykstra Auto Repair.

This shop definitely cares about there customers! I had two flat tires and had to have it towed to their shop, they said the would try to fit it in that same day. Even though they weren't able to, they stayed late to get my tires fixed so that I could get my son in law to an extremely important interview the next morning! These guys definitely go above and beyond to take care of there customers! I will be doing all my business with them from now on!! Customer service is still important in this shop!!

I went in for an oil change after being fleeced of 80 dollars from the dealership. Not only was Dykstra’s more cost effective, but they finished the job quicker than the dealership did. Not to mention my car runs like a champ now. I’m not sure what the gentleman’s name was at the front desk, but he was a fantastic help and great to talk to. Will definitely be going back in the future.

I am always very happy with my service at Dykstra’s Auto! Whether it is an oil change or another issue with my car, they do a great job!
