I really liked the campground!! However, those small airplanes flying overhead all weekend from the private airport were a tad annoying. I will definitely be back again, though.

They keep the park clean and it’s a great view of the sunset! Also there is two fenced in dog areas that are great for the dogs!

Excellent state park with all amenities available. Large picnic area with many seating tables and barbecue arrangements. Very large parking area, good and large dog park. Restroom facilities. Enough playground for children. Very nice hilly walking trail as well seperate trail for mountain biking. Hourse riding trail is also available. 11 miles walk and cycling track is very nice and tests your endurance. Enjoyed walking in jungle as well as on plains and hilly area.
Near recreation area large lake and beautiful small beach. Excellent arrangements. Enjoyed the park very much. Only issue is parek opens at 8 am but not metioned on information on net. Early morning walkers face it difficult for parking the vehicle.

Actually a pretty quiet park during the week. Nice beach but lots of swans and therefore lots of poop so beware. Trails are nice and quiet with a lot of wildlife but loaded w/ mosquitoes so plan accordingly.

This is a lovely Michigan State Park with a huge lake that is great for swimming and fishing in the summer months.

There are 2 campground loops with electric. A few A-frame cabins have been added recently and 5 traditional cabins located on the best spot in the campgrounds, overlooking a scenic view that really shines in the fall.

We love walking the campgrounds with our two dogs. There's also an aggressive trail that takes you from the campgrounds to the public beach that also has a small off-leash dog park.

Be warned about 3 things, however;
1. I've seen ticks off-trail, so stay on it,
2. There is hunting allowed, so stay in the designated trail areas, and
3. Oakland county airport is near the lake so it can get noisy.

The campground has a hiking trail 1.8 miles that leads to the beach. The beach was clean with a large sandy area. It is an older campground with huge shade trees. The lots are a decent size. I stayed at site 15 and that loop had bushes on the sides which provided privacy and gives you a deep woods feeling. The bathrooms are older but were kept clean my only complaint is that it only has one short hiking trail, but that's to be expected with a smaller park. We had a wonderful time here.

1.8 mile amazing hike so close to the city. Followed that with BBQ with a beach view, relaxing swim, kayaking, and lazying on the sand with a book.

Really loved the open space. Enough picnic tables for any group or small family. The beach is very clean & very inviting. There's even a boardwalk you can stroll down. There is an area roped off for swimming. The lake has a lot of activity, so be aware of ongoing boat and jetski traffic. There is a fee to enter the park. You can also enter for free if you have a park pass (sticker) on your vehicle. I just think it's a very beautiful place for solace or to bring your kids.

Great bike and hiking trails. Also trails for horses. If you're active this is a nice location. Public restrooms and showers are clean. There's spots for up to 45 ft travel trailers, we booked our spot from thestate park website. There's a variety of open field and private spots so it might be worth driving around the camp site if you can to find what you're looking for.

Wonderful campground. Best place in the area to see fall foliage. The campground has electricity but not water for campsites. Like other campgrounds you can buy your woodlugs and ice here. There are some cabins also.
Enjoyed visiting this place and hiking around here
I would love to come back here again.

Awesome place to kayak and see wildlife. Be careful paddling or drifting towards the center of the lake because you will be at the mercy of the wind in open water. Otherwise it is AEWSOME!!!!!!!!

Really wonderful park. Endless beach & picnic facilities to have a great beach day, or picnic. There's a wonderful boardwalk that runs alongside the beach. Great for walking or just sitting to watch the waves. The beach Hass a swim area w/ floaters to keep you inside and away from lake traffic, like boats, canoes & jetskis. There are picnic tables enough for just you, or a group to have a great day. There's also a dog park to bring your dog to play. There is a fee to enter this area, the cost is different.

Love hiking here during the off-season. Not many people around but wonderfully quiet and serene. Pontiac lake boasts a lovely dog park for both small and large dogs. My lab loves to visit the dog park all year long.

The beach is pretty well sized, and clean. There is a nice hiking trail nearby as well. Perfect place for me to spend an active summer morning outdoors, starting with a run on the trail and cooling off in the water alongside the beach. I went in spring time though, so I was just hiking for the most part. Attached is a panoramic view of the lake.
