Driving through the backwoods late at night, and we found a bar on the side of the road! We walk in, the cowbell goes off and everyone looks at us. Then we sit down, hang out, get some drinks and they turn on the background music 😆 This place was very cozy, and they had exactly what we wanted for beer. The staff and owner were great, and they had Terminator playing on the TV. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in this neck of the woods.

Friendly out of the norm bar in the boonies. Better than average bar pizza, and always COLD BEER! Really great owners who are as friendly, and always willing to help. I hope the Greenwood fire steers clear enough from the Knotted Pine, and everyone is safe! Whenever I travel out of Ely and down HWY1, I stop. Hang in there Scott, Dana, and staff.....you are in my thoughts.

Owner here was very nice and accommodating and friendly staff! Food was pretty good. I was on the Pagami Creek fire as a federal contractor so never got to have a drink, however cabins were comfortable and like I said very accommodating! I WILL stop here when we go on our camping trip next summer!

A travel back in time. Simple clean and historic. Very friendly staff and customers. The wood stove is warm and inviting with just a slight aroma of burning pine. Frozen pizza, chips and snacks is all you can get to fill that hunger here but the simple menu is enough and matches the simple laid back atmosphere. Take a look around at the history and stories told in black and white on the walls. If you are thirty have a cold beer but don't expect to find a snooty craft beer here. Simple (there's that word again) domestics are all they have and all you need. If you have MORE than you needed, inquire about staying in one of their comfy little cabins. Remember, there are plenty of curving and windy roads on the way to this little gem. Better to head straight to bed than straight into a majestic pine on the way home.

Very friendly owners, working heat, running hot water, bar/hangout building next to all the cabins with good wifi. Great place to stay. Just a tip; bring paper towels if you plan on using the kitchenette. I stayed in Cabin 6.

There's gas and pizza there too, so great spot to hit the trails. Just be careful on the trails

Very friendly hosts. Cabin was nice but rustic. Expect to bring some of the comforts from home if you expect to spend a lot of time indoors. Great snowmobiling all around the area. Bar next door and gas pump for 91 non-oxy off-road vehicles was convenient. Inexpensive. I'd go there again.

Scott and Dana Hull are good, real people. Their resort is affordable, comfortable, and in a spot where you are at the border of the boundary waters and 30 miles from the North Shore. Our whole family stayed there for four days and nights, and had a great time. I recommend Cabin #7, as it will fit most families and allow you quick access to the road to move to your places of recreation. A great stay!

I love this place!!! Been going there for years Everytime I'm Up North. The owner Scott is very nice and the atmosphere is Northwoods for sure!!!! If you're on your way to Ely definitely stop in for a beer!!

The rock is at the corner of Stony River Road and Whyte Road.

Really great staff and pizza was way better than your average bar pizza. Yum! Also, they had a stuffed wolverine! Fine selection of beers too, they had castle danger among others

have stayed here 3 times now for snowmobiling trips with the guys and going back again in Feb. We wouldn't change a thing. affordable, great people, easy trail access, and everything you need. Cabins are by no means 5-star, but we're guys...wouldn't have it any other way!

Unbeatable staff can handle a rush. Greatest cheese bread and great pizza. If you are on a sled they have good gas. Cool place.

Just stayed at a cabin this past weekend. A very nice / affordable place to stay, and the hosts were great with requests and questions. Will probably rent from them again if I go in the future, would highly recommend!

Friendly out in the sticks bar and food establishment. The pickled eggs are a must try 🤥🤥. Do not eat them unless somebody pays you. 🤮 🤢
