Had picnic lunch at one of the 3 campsites, nice view of lake, restroom and water source, hiking trail around lake

I love that entire area, the only bad thing is there are far more people going there than in the past, mist of them are fine, but the percentage of folks with poor campsite etiquette has gone way up...

5 stars for the trail around the lake. So named because the lake sits just on one side of the Laurentian Divide

Very nice 👍 and peaceful when you get a spot. Hit and miss. Week days are your best times.

One of the best campsites I've been to up north. Try to snag campsite #1 right by the water.

The campsites are beautiful. Site 1 is the best, if you can get it. We were there in July and the mosquitos are unbearable at night and in the morning. On or near the water they are better. The trail was very overgrown and a mosquito mosh pit due to it being summer. The water was clean clear and cold, just how we love it. Fall, I'm sure would be better but it was already chilly at night in July so pack warm:) Dumbbell lake is where the fishing pier was and of you don't mind another 12 miles down the road is hogback lake which is also great for fishing/trout/camping if divide lake is full.

No water or garbage, but empty on a Wednesday night. The trail around the lake is enjoyable. Very mossy/raniforesty.

Decent tent pads, outhouse and garbage. The only downside is that everything is so close together. I wish there was more space between facilities so it would be more private. Good for families though.

Clean and remote with four spots. The bugs were terrible, but you have to expect that.
