You guys never let me down!!! Thanks for getting me there... and yes, there is never anyone who runs the place on site. But, the loved ones I visit don't seem to mind. It's open from dawn to dusk .

Such a hidden historical place to visit. I don't have anyone I know buried here but it was nice just to walk about and imagine.

I've learned the caretakers are there when you see the garage door open. Usually by 8am to 9am. Caretaker was very helpful locating grave sites in a book. Wish a map of grave sites was online to easily find the plots. Due to the cemetery being so old, areas were not marked out well.

I actually have a comment to most the newer reviews I'm reading and it honestly breaks my heart if it's true I will find out once I get back home I have 3 different generation families buried at chest nut Hill bruno Murphy and York all related to me I have been going there since the late 1990s first time I ever went I was mybe 7 years old it always was beautiful cemetery I have always said one day this where I will come for my final rest to be back home I live in Florida amd grow up down here but always stayed very connected to jersey but after I grow up it's been some time since I been back the last time I was in jersey was 2019 for my grandmother Funeral on the york side she was married to Murphy they would also be so sad to hear this cause this to my families we always have considered it ours kinda cause we have some of the most members there I really hope this isn't true what I am hearing but I too had bad experience about ten months ago when called only calls go throw on Sundays and I did get the lady on the phone I called her because I wanted to find the plot number of where my mother was buried When I verbally gave her my telephone number she had every number right except the very last one and But now that I think about it she never read it back to me and honestly I think every single business should do that so that way both people have a good understanding but if this is true I promise I will see what I can do to help in anyway Now I know that this cemetery is not my family cemetery it's for everyone to share but really I do have alot of family there so mybe there somthing we can do for the cemetery

This is a historical cemetery. Tours are conducted on a yearly basis by the local historical society. The hill, on which the Bloodgood family marker stands, is one of the highest points in Middlesex county and parts of NYC can be seen from here. This is also the final resting place of Congressman Appleby.

A beautiful, historic cemetery, which every Halloween, offers reenactments of the lives of historical figures that are buried their.

I have to back some of the other comments here. Everything has been taken from my mother's burial plot. We have had articifial flowers, multiple solar lights, solar angel and cross; all have been taken. All that remains is one solar light. A real low for people to be doing this and for the cemetary to not keep a better eye on the happenings on these sacred grounds.

I was just over at the cemetery a few days ago visiting my mom. All of the artificial flowers and small decorated rocks that I put on her grave site were completely gone....removed. I am VERY annoyed. Hers was the only one that had these removed. Other grave sites including one that borders hers still had their artificial flowers and other items still there untouched...while those on my moms site were removed. I called the cemetery and left a voice mail and no one has called me back. I find to this removal of sentimental items on my moms grave site to be disrespectful, uncaring, and certainly not sympathetic. There is no excuse whatsoever that can justify this.

When Len was in charge of the cemetery there was a rule that no one is allowed in the cemetery when a funeral is going on. My son passed away June 24/25, but his death certificate states June 27, 2022. I have had to bury both my children in the last 5 years 10 months from one another. During our funeral the new operator of the cemetery allowed people in during our funeral, he also rushed out the mourners stating we were blocking the circle. When Len ran this cemetery, and a funeral was going on the cemetery was closed for a full hour for the mourners.

This cemetery I have been to a great deal in the past five almost six years. Since Len died, the cemetery is not being cared for in the same way it was before. I am very upset that the Cemetery is being neglected and it is very sad when my son Daniel ashes were buried that the dirt was mainly rocks. He was a Marine this horrified me to see this, four days after his burial. Imagine checking on your sons grave to find rocks all over the area of his ashes. What is wrong with the new management?

I would love to speak to the people in charge of making decisions about this cemetery because one of the reasons my sons are buried here is based on the fact families have 12 inches from the stone to decorate or place flowers.

The new management is not allowing people the respect they received from Len. Len cared for this cemetery and the grass was green, now it is all dying. Not from the heat but from neglect.

People have been complaining about the new management of this cemetery since Len Passed away. If management is going to let a family friendly, caring cemetery be neglected due to new management it is a real shame.

I have my Grandmother, Uncle and 2 Sons buried in the Cemetery and I am very upset with how neglected it is starting to look. If families are willing to plant grass to keep it from looking like a dirt cemetery leave them alone. Stop pulling people's flowers out and all the other antics that is going on.

Like I said I have been at the cemetery on a regular basis since 2016 when Len was in charge people were doing their best to make the graves sites look nice and show love to their lost ones.

My husband and I went on Memorial Day 5/30/2022 to visit my Dad and place a American 🇺🇸 Flag onhis grave site. Well much to my surprise We couldn’t find his Grave Marker, it was covered in dirt and over grown with grass! We poked in the ground and found it. We cleaned and cleared all the dirt and grass off! I was in tears to think that there is No Respect for The Veterans!! They just mowed over it and ignored it like it didn’t matter!!! Well it matters to me and my family and most importantly to My Dad the Marine who fought for His Country in the Korean War!!! I would appreciate it if this Grave Marker is attended to and Respecte at All Times!!!🥲🇺🇸

Here now for the 3rd time in a month looking for my fiancée's brother I've searched almost the entire cemetery and still haven't found him. We've called multiple times to ask where he's at and they only picked up after 4 attempts and they gave us his location but when we show up we quickly realized that the sections of the cemetery is rarely marked and when they are they don't seem to follow a pattern jumping from "R" to "C" to "H" and since no one seems to be working on the weekends we're sucking searching the entire place in 95 degree weather
