We have 17 pet birds in our house right now.
I have worked with avian vets across the county, and these guys are amazing!

I like to ask questions and put my time and energy to finding out what is best for my birds. So a good vet is imperative.

We have had rescue birds that were ill when they arrived. They are now flourishing. We were able to get in right away!

They have an emergency line for current clients.
If something is wrong with a bird minuets count this is crucial in illness and injuries.
It can be the difference between life and death with one night and not having the right care.

They are about 1.5 hours from me and we will wait in our car since they are respectful of covid. They call while you wait in your car and talk with you like they would if you were in the office. I get to ask questions and talk with them and discuss concerns about my birds while they are in the office. After my bird comes out, always happy healthy. They see our whole flock!

This is a leading expert in birds. If it's not a nail trim or something simple, I am here. There is not a better avian vet for hours and hours of a drive.

We had an accident with our green cheek and they were so quick to get him fixed up! I'm so thankful for them! They were super understanding and very informative. I appreciate them so much. 100% recommend! Even put a heart on his tiny cast! They understand what its like to love our little birdy friends. 🥹

I brought my ferret, Fran, to get an implant. They also trimmed her nails and cleaned her ears out. This is an amazing vet practice for exotic animals.

Hello,. I had a great experience with Dr dollhousen and his staff yesterday. The doctor had a nice soothing voice that made me feel very comfortable. He not only performed exam s on on my two birds but also trained me on what he was doing. Very informative.
I drove 136 Mi from Indianapolis to see Dr dollhousen and it was worth the drive

I have taken my birds to Dr. Bob for over 30 years. He is the most intelligent, knowledgeable avian veterinarian there is. And the kindest, most gentle man with both his patients and his clients. During the 17 years I've been rescuing birds, he has saved many lives that would otherwise have been lost. There is no one else I would take my birds to. He is the best.

I drove well over 9 hours to have Dr. Dahlhausen look at my bird, and I would do it again without hesitation. The Dr. was very kind and super knowledgeable. I left the office with not only a plan for moving forward, but also the peace of mind that my bird is now under the care of the best avian vet we have met. I was supplied with everything I need to keep my bird healthy and the reassurance that he is only a phone call/text away to help whenever needed.

They came very highly recommended. The staff are very thorough, knowledgeable, compassiinate, and wonderful to work with overall. Their lab services are on site which is terrific. We highly recommend them to care for your feathered companions

I have Avian vets 5 mins from home but will drive over an hour to bring my bird here. Wonderful service, affordable, they really truly care about your bird.

Dr. Dalhausen and his staff are helpful, kind, and remarkably smart. I’ve brought in birds, rats, and a hamster. All were treated with genuine care. They always take the time to make sure I understand and answer any questions I have. This is hands down the best exotic vet clinic.

I have an older pet rabbit, he somehow managed to herniate his bladder through his abdominal wall. Another vet recommended Dr. Dalhausen's practice for exotics needing surgery. His doctor, Dr. Cummings, was AMAZING! His incision site is fully healed, he didn't even have a scar after it healed, and despite being older, with the right attention from Dr. Cummings and the rest of the staff, he did very well under anesthesia. I truly could not be more impressed or happier with the outcome. 10/10 recommend for any exotics! This was a rare case and Dr. Cummings handled it beautifully!

Dr. Dahlhausen and his staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the office is very clean. My birds got a thorough exam, diagnosis, and treatment in the most stress free way possible and at extremely reasonable pricing. I drive over an hour to come here and would drive longer if need be. I live 5 minutes away from a different certified avian vet and you could not pay me enough money to go there instead. Dr. "Bob" is well worth the trip!

This wonderful doctor saved my Cockatiel's life when other doctors were already done for the day. He gave up his own time to care for him, diagnose him, and put us on a treatment plan that is working so well! He is brilliant and so knowledgeable about so much. He is a truly wonderful man at extremely reasonable pricing!

The moment I walked through the door I was welcomed, and boy did I need it. I have had my avian for approx. 10 years and these last few weeks saw changes in my birds behavior that scared me immensely. Dr. Dahlhausen was amazing to deal with, so gentle with my baby bird and so easy to talk to and follow what his thoughts were. I have never experienced an avian vet as confident and knowledgeable as this man and would/will recommend any and all parrot parents to see him for all their vet needs. I love this clinic. Everyone is so friendly and you can see the love and passion they have for their patients. You can't beat the price either lol

He is an amazing exsotic vet! My gecko got sick, took her to another vet first and could not find the issue. I honestly though I was going to have to put her to sleep. He found issues my other vet didn't and after about a month of meds. She is completely fine now! He is very knowledgeable! I have taken my snakes there as well. There staff is also very friendly.

We have been using Dr. Dahlhausen for years for our birds. We have tried others but didn't get the quality of care and attention to detail he gives. He is extremely knowledgable and cares for his patients. It's over an hour commute for us to see him but we wouldn't go anywhere else. He's the best!
