Lakeway Restaurant

I've read some less than stellar reviews on Lakeway lately, but we had a wonderful experience. Had a family get- together, and staff was very accommodating, food was good. What else can I say?

The service was fast and friendly, food was well cooked (only complaint is that the topping on the waffle was put on prematurely it seemed since my waffle was soggy when it got to me), but it was definitely a good experience and we'll be returning!

Shared breakfast with Tori had her two 9-year-old twins Isaac and Bella.. excellent food and service . great coffee ..top of the line Italian restaurant and a staple of the community in Ashtabula Harbor !!!

Was a really nice place! I got their $12.99 sirloin special and it was really good! My friend got the chicken parm and said it was very good as well

Lakeway has always been a home town favorite for my family and I. Whether it is breakfast, lunch, or dinner, we all have our favorite “go to” dishes! You can clearly tell they care about their food quality because the majority of food is fresh and home made. Highly suggest the french toast for bfast on any choice of their homemade breads. Hands down the best italian wedding soup I have ever had. Zesty Bow Ties and Chicken Marsala are must haves as well! Growing up in Ashtabula, it’s always felt great supporting local family owned businesses. I hope you can do the same!

Our first visit was very good. We had great food for reasonable price. Our server was great and made our lunch very pleasant. All this and after reading their menu found they also work with healthcare to ensure their food meets healthy guidelines. We will be back

I went to Lakeway on 2/12/2022. The service was great and the food was even better. I had the homemade chicken Alfredo and cheese cake (homemade as well). I recommended to anyone . It’s nice to see a mom and pops restaurant opened for dinner time.

Good Menu With Great Gluten-free Options. The Staff were very friendly and informative. Pork Chops were excellent. Best Part was the prices. Very Reasonable. If you are in the area, don't hesitate to try this restaurant. It Is A Hidden Gem!!

Great local restaurant that serves a variety of homemade and home cooked meals.

Only been here a few times, it's always been pleasant and for a pleasant dine in experience and awesome service it's a recommended from me.

This is a little Mom&Pop diner. It seats probably 75 - 100 people. The food was fabulous. The service was amazing. The portions were big. The price excellent. Our party of 4 was staying near GOTL and wanted to eat somewhere other than the tourist center. Lakeway is roughly 15-20 minutes away. Which isn't a bad drive to eat somewhere without tourist prices. We ate at this restaurant twice. Once for late lunch/ early supper and again on our last day in the area for brunch. Both meals were delicious.
Definitely worth the visit.

I am not a local by any means, but my Great Aunt who raised her family in Ashtabula recommended this place when I met her for dinner back in February 2018; shortly after she had moved back from California. This place was an Ashtabula landmark before she left, and she was glad to see it still here! It was her first choice when making dinner plans. The restaurant has a very local feel, in that it has character and charm much like Ashtabula. The Liver and Onions were the "go-to" for my aunt. Something that was hard to find in California, but very easy to find in most sit-down restaurants in NEO. "Lakeway's Liver and Onions are always good" she said after she placed her order. I had the Chicken Alfredo, twice you might say. The portion was more than generous that I had it for dinner and then lunch the next day. The sauce was flavorful and creamy, and the chicken had delicious flavor. The servers were friendly, and the service was perfectly-paced for conversation over dinner. The other thing I truly appreciated about this restaurant was they encourage not using a straw. This is important with Ashtabula being a water-front community on Lake Erie, and realizing the impact the straw can have on the Great Lakes' ecosystem. I have since went back at the end of May 2018 for the funeral services for my great aunt, and had dinner again. Same quality service, same delicious food. I had the Cream Chicken over Biscuits this last time. Comfort food at it's finest at at time when I needed comfort. I look forward to going back and visiting not just Lakeway, but also Ashtabula.

Good food, friendly staff, hometown atmosphere....Lakeway Restaurant has it all. Stop in for a meal, quick bite, or just coffee. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

The three times we visited this fine family-owned restaurant we were greeted warmly by the hostess and wait staff. Patrons eating there were also friendly and engaging. When checking out most recently my wife and I were pleasantly surprised that a patron had anonymously paid our tab. This is definitely a go to place in Ashtabula!

My food order came in a timely manner and was cooked to perfection. Healthy portions and I was quite full when I left with a take home container. Couldn't eat all in one sitting.

Excellent food, I recommend the veal parmesan. One thing I like is they give you your choice of type of spaghetti when you get a dish that has spaghetti. For example, do you want angel hair you can get it or fettuccine you can get it. You won't be disappointed.
