CAFÉ LaTERRE

Great coffee and breakfast bites—became our favorite morning joint in Solana Beach during a recent visit. It is a hole in the wall right next to a CVS on the 101. We ended up going there several times; the baristas were friendly and took a lot of care making our favorite cups of coffee. The breakfast bites were fresh and delicious—we had the egg-bacon and caprese sandwiches as well as the ham croissant.

A hidden gem in an unlikely location. One of the best coffee in the area full of nice cafe. The owner roasted the beans himself. If your like medium to light roast I.e. Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Wete) you’ll likely their house blend. It’s got a light acidic note which I favor.

I also like that the cafe is usually just one or two person so you get a very friendly and personalized service. Rather boutique feel to it. In all highly recommended.

Very mellow, smooth espresso and some house made syrups. Great service and plenty of alternative milks including oat.

Love Café LaTerre’s matcha! It seems like every other coffee shop in San Diego adds sugar to their matcha and can’t make it without, so it ends up too sweet, but Café LaTerre’s can be made unsweetened or with sweetener if preferred. This coffee shop also uses high quality matcha which is a bonus, and always looks vibrant green once made which is how I like it. :) 10/10 recommend 🤍

This cafe has the best coffee I’ve ever had!! Fresh and locally roasted here in SD. Alden the operator, is so knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. I love that they have a walk up window to order as well. So no need to have a service scheduled to get a coffee. 10/10 would recommend!

Outstanding! The setup threw me for a loop initially as their isn’t a sign above the shop and are located next to a CVS in a building that is also connected by a long hallway of a salon, but once I quickly got over the quirkiness of the setup I realized immediately what a gem this place is. Alden the owner is exceptionally friendly and the vanilla iced americano he made could not have been better. Perfect blend of great service and delicious coffee!

This is a wonderful little coffee shop! Every cup of coffee is handcrafted and tastes great! There is nothing about this place that is mass produced or impersonal. The store is clean and beautiful, the service is top notch, and the prices are very reasonable. Alden was friendly and welcoming. When we are in town, this will be our go to place for coffee! Thank you!

I'm VERY particular about the coffeehouses I frequent, and I LOVE Café LaTerre! Alden made my first time here awesome. He crafted one of the best lattes I've ever had ... even roasts the coffee beans himself. He's super friendly, knows his stuff and wants you to enjoy your time here. He's proud of this place as he should be. This will be my coffeehouse of choice every time I'm in town! Yes, it has wifi - a must for a remote writer like me. (To find it, look for the Salon World Suites signage and go through the doors to the right of it, next to CVS.)

Update 4 star to 5: Ive lived next door for 5 months now and love this coffee window. Prices are cheaper then lofty and pastries are better, staff is always nice. Stoked to have this coffee option so close.

New favorite in Solana Beach area! Super friendly staff, 5 ⭐ espresso drinks, and great pastries (including the king of coffee sides; kouign-amann). Hope to be back often!

This is an absolute gem, tucked away next to CVS. The matcha latte is the best I've ever had. The pastries are top notch, and the sandwiches are amazing. Alden and Al are super friendly and kind. This place is now a can't miss part of my daily routine, seven days a week!

Best coffee joint in all of North County! Alden the manager is super nice and always makes sure you have a perfect cup of joe. Their house made syrups are truly to die for!

Excellent coffee, pastries and service. Alden is very personable as is the staff. Coffee beans are roasted by the owner resulting in a superior product.
