After a life-changing accident 20 years ago and enduring countless surgeries and dental visits since, it was finally time to achieve the smile I'd always dreamed of. I needed 3 new crowns for implants that were placed by 2 different providers over the span of 15 years. My amazing dentist recommended Dr. Chris for this complex task, knowing his reputation for perfection and talent in cosmetic dentistry.
During our consultation, Dr. Chris took the time to explain everything clearly and honestly, showing me options for my new smile in a detailed PowerPoint presentation. During every discussion we had, Dr. Chris always gave me space to share my thoughts (in my case-be very picky) which made me feel involved and like I had some control over the outcome. Kristi, the financial advisor, was incredibly supportive and understanding as she guided me through the financial process by breaking everything down, step by step.
Lydia and Janet in the front office worked so hard to accommodate my work schedule and had such great communication with me. They were so sweet and never made me feel like an inconvenience- which I definitely was at times! Skylar, the dental assistant, was always so prepared, organized, and knowledgeable. Our conversations before Dr. Chris would come in always brought me a sense of calm and he always made sure I felt comfortable.
Dr. Chris went above and beyond, personally checking in between appointments and addressing my many questions and concerns no matter the time of day. He collaborated closely with the lab to ensure my care was seamless and my teeth were perfect. His enthusiasm for improving my smile lessened my dental anxiety with each visit- a miracle in itself. The lengths Dr. Nelson would go to so he could deliver my perfect smile was unbelievable and unique.
This office genuinely cares about their patients and sees them as a whole person. I truly felt a part of their family and they will always hold a special place in my heart. As someone who's considers themselves very experienced with receiving all kinds of dental care, I feel I am qualified to highly recommend Nelson Family Dental. And yes, I finally got the smile I've always wanted, closing a 20-year chapter, happily.

Dr. Nelson and his staff are exceptional: competent, efficient, personable, highly skilled and make going to the dentist from an hour and a half away convenient for my busy schedule. New hygienist Brittany Lindley is superb! She gave great information on how to better care for my ailing gums, reinforcing what Dr. Mike had carefully explained when I was a new patient. Always helps to have a reminder!

Best dental experience ever! I have been going to Nelson Family Dental since I was a child. I have since moved out of town and continue to travel to Redding for my dental care. My husband now also travels to Redding after having poor experiences with other dental providers. Every member of the Nelson Family Dental team is kind, friendly, and compassionate. I am very, very happy with Dr. Nelson's office. The front desk is efficient and makes sure that an emergency is handled right away. The hygienists are caring and helpful (and painless!!). Dr. Nelson treats more than just my mouth. He sat down with me and explained oral health and how proper nutrition and exercise is important, and offered suggestions as to how to improve my overall health. He is an excellent listener, and I trust his decisions. I really feel that everyone in that office truly respects and cares about their patients. I highly recommend them.

Simply put, Dr. Nelson and his staff are THE BEST. Very professional, skilled, and helpful, yet warm, friendly and approachable as well. Although Dr. Nelson doesn't advertise as being a dentist who caters to cowards, he really does a great job in this area....and being a huge coward myself, I feel highly qualified to spread the word. If you are afraid of the dentist, or have challenging issues with your teeth, no one will help you more than Dr. Nelson and his wonderful staff.

Nelson Family Dental Group provides the most outstanding care available anywhere. I've been a happy patient for 30 years. Dr. Mike, Dr. Chris and their awesome Staff always take every patient's needs seriously and are always there for their patients. During theses challenging times with Covid 19 restrictions, they have gone above and beyond to create a safe work environment for their patients and Staff. I recommend them without reservation.

Dr. Nelson is the best dentist I've ever had. He's experienced, uses the newest technologies in the industry, takes pride in his work, and his drive to do the best work he can is evident in every appointment. I can't recommend him enough!

My family has known the Nelson family for many years due to hockey and other activities. Today, my 3YO son got the privilege of seeing Dr Chris Nelson. He is amazing with children, you can see it comes from the heart and he cares. He was thorough with his simple exam and made us as a family feel comfortable and he has our trust! The office has always felt welcoming ever since we have started coming there, but today meant a lot to us as a family with our son. Thank you!!

Dr Mike and his staff are the best. Jennifer does a great job cleaning my teeth and taking X-rays. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly! ....And they have great books to read on healthy diets and nutrition. If you need a dentist, this is the place to be!

I recently fractured a front tooth in a rather bad way while enjoying a meal a bit too enthusiastically Wednesday evening. The break was unique and I knew it required a high level of knowledge, experience and skill to repair it. By the following Friday Dr. Chris Nelson and assistant Sally fit me into their busy morning schedule and perfectly repaired that broken tooth. I am more than impressed. Thank you Dr. Chris. I'm extremely grateful and a lifetime fan of the Nelson Family Dental Group.
