Riverwest Public House Cooperative

I really like this little place, it's a co-operative bar so cool concept. Interesting events, fun Monday night karaoke and nice drink selection. Friendly and attentive service every time we've gone.

Milwaukee's only cooperative bar, and one of my favorite hangouts (especially for karaoke and political events) for the past few years. After some financial troubles, a recovery plan was going well but was torpedoed by COVID-19. I am very sad because the Public House will be closing at the end of this month.

Such good people here. I go every Monday for Kareoke.

Staff is nothing short of amazing. Super friendly and fast.

They are open right now but you MUST wear a mask unless you are actively taking a drink.

Social distancing is enforced.

Honestly, good on them. I'm happy that they've found a way to responsibly serve customers and it felt great to get out to the bar again!

Inclusive and cool about it. Offers a forum for all kinds of community discussions, casual meet ups, stand-up comedy, and music that go beyond "place to get beer (or tea in a pint glass)" or "place to hear live music." It's an iconic fixture of the unique Riverwest community.

That said, the bartender was attentive and friendly, I could hear everything that was going on on stage, and the audience was respectful of whomever was speaking.

Support one of the very few publicly owned bars in the US of A. You don't need to drink, it's a great place to meet new people, hang out for a show or meeting or play a board game or two. There isn't one right way to be successful. A co-op bar successful? Yep, and in many ways better. The regulars are friendly, the bartender Lisa is a real pro. Great MKE taps. Stage for live music and readings. Most of all a true commitment to the neighborhood and city.

After a recent bad spell, it looks like the RPH is back with a vengeance. So happy to see how they've turned things around. Occasionally the drinks are so-so and, if you're not a politically minded person, bring your hip waders. They've ramped up the events which is good but there are a few times where you just want a quiet place and it ain't there.

Gotta love the Public House! If you go in during the week it tends to be quiet, and the specials are decent. They host some cool shows and community events, including theme trivia on Wednesdays.

Best d@mn pub in Milwaukee (and I don't even drink anymore either). Best d@mn co-op pub this side of the Mississippi. Best d@mn unofficial union hall in the world. The camraderie of the local community members and organizers who hang here make the atmosphere unlike anywhere else.

This is one of my favorite bars. It has a great atmosphere! I also really enjoy the events put on here.

Great DJ, great beer selection, welcoming staff. Nice place to see bands.

I love this place it's resonably priced and the crowd is fun. You can get a pitcher of beer for 6.00

This place has a nice atmosphere. There milk stout is my new favorite milk stout.

It's a great "hole in the wall" kind of place with an artsy crowd who's very welcoming to everyone.

Wonderful co-op bar. Great people and community. Also some of the best Bloodies you can get.

Great place to meet up with friends. Cool vibe. Great pizza.
