Capisce?

Every time we go to Lake Tahoe we have to make a reservation at Capisce. It is a little taste of Italy in South Lake Tahoe! Their food is delicious, the staff is kind, and the ambiance is amazing! It’s tucked away and definitely a hidden gem. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time. You won’t be disappointed.

Amazing food. Nice atmosphere. They were out of a few things we wanted but made do. We had a great family night.

Sign in window said they were closed permanently, and thank you for the 13 years, no cars in the parking lot Friday, or Saturday night. Just the sign. I'm disappointed. This restaurant quickly became my Tahoe favorite.

Excellent food, lots of creative menu choices, comfortable and interesting dining room. Will definitely return to try more of the menu.

Pleasant servers, nice atmosphere. Mozz bread as an appetizer was so good. I had the trio platter - lasagna was fabulous and ravioli very tasty; the pesto chicken was dry but everything else was fantastic! Hubby had the “super spicy gi pasta” - it had a nice dash of heat but not at all overwhelming. Prime dinner time was pretty noisy but it quieted down by dessert. Our tiramisu was one of the best we’ve ever had! We wish we had another night in Tahoe - we would have come back! Can’t wait for the next time we’re in town, definitely planning to be back.

Great service and good food. They did not have a gluten free menu, but I let him know about my allergy and he was willing to take the menu item that I wanted and figure out a way to make it gluten free. Very knowledgeable about sauces and preparation of the menu. Thank you for saving me from gut pain. 😅

The bread before the meal was soft and warm, better than most Italian restaurants. The pizza had a light crust with plenty of toppings. Leave room for an excellent dessert; we had their specialty: Lisa's buns. Arianna took care of our table with a wonderful smile.

Had a wonderful birthday dinner here. Good gluten free options. Zughetti was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. She took a very nice photo of us together. Tiramisu was yummy! They also have very good espresso.

Right now, they are working at a 50% seating style to be covered compliant. Reservations are recommended more than ever due to the limited seating ability. They do offer their awesome food available for takeout if that works for you! It always smells so good inside, it's no wonder we keep coming back :-)

Very cozy Italian restaurant in lake Tahoe. They make their own pasta. My steak order was fabulous. Our waiter was nice and made our dinner experience wonderful! Prices are affordable!

This restaurant was amazing! They make sure you are safe (covid wise) as possible and the staff is SO FRIENDLY!! Make reservations ahead of time since they are at 25% capacity. This is a family owned place and we felt right at home. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious!

Excellent food,very helpful staff. Took a little longer for the service but I enjoyed our company and conversation with friends. I am a repeat customer. Really enjoyed the rice putting dessert!

The best Lobster Campanelle and Rib Eye Steak I have ever had. It's fantastic! We've been there 5 times now and at different times in the year and never had any problems with a wait and service was great! The bread they give you while your order is being prepared is fantastic. Everything is fresh.

We ate at this little gem of a restaurant two years ago after being referred by locals. What a lucky find! We couldn't wait to come back!

They serve the best cheese ravioli on the planet. Here's an "insider tip": try "Mama's Gravy". Don't like mushrooms? Neither do we! Seriously, try it anyway. The server we had two years ago recommended it, even though we DO NOT eat mushrooms. He convinced us. That was the last time we had mushrooms - well, until tonight LOL.

This special family owned and operated restaurant makes you feel welcome the minute you walk in, and spoils you with wonderful service and delicious food.

We love this place! Great food and wonderful people. It's all good. Raviolis, pasta, lasagna and even the pizza. Homemade goodness! We've literally never had anything bad from the menu. This isn't fast food, come to enjoy the experience and atmosphere.

Excellent customer service, excellent food, and just an overall great place to eat. The staff is very attentive and super friendly. Highly recommend this place.

We had a delicious dinner here! If you are looking for something on the south shore that isnt a bar, brewery, near Heavenly resort or in a casino this fits the bill. Very nice atmosphere, good service, nice variety on the menu and excellent food. Another reviewer mentioned high prices, honestly, it was in the ballpark of Italian chains and anout 100 times better.

We will definitely return to this place! We ordered the pizzadilla appetizer, a pepperoni pizza, meatball sliders w/ house salad and the corn dogs for the kids. EVERYTHING was delicious. The house salad had more veggies on it than any other house salad I've ever ordered. I wish my stomach was bigger because their dessert menu looked amazing. Service was very friendly and timely. The focaccia that they serve prior to the meal is superb, fluffy and thick. So for 5 dishes and 1 soda it was $53. And we had extra pizza to take home.

I have traveled from Sacramento to have dinner at Capisce. More recently I had my very small wedding party dinner there and I heard comments like “this is the best food I’ve ever had”. I would recommend the Zucchetti pasta, Lobster Capnelle , Flank Steak & lasagna ( best I’ve ever had). Service was excellent! Very attentive. Huge props to Ariana for her excellent service.
