Awesome old school Milwaukee Pub in River West! Always entertaining conversations at the bar.
The best Friday Fish Fry I have ever had! You can see the chef breading and frying the (if you sit at the bar). Love the bartender Frank! Order the cheeseburger when Frank is there! You won't be disappointed!!

Went here in search of Milwaukee's best fish fry and was not disappointed. We sat at the bar and received A+ service by all the staff, I think one of them was the owner (they all introduced themselves but I can't remember haha). If you plan on going on a Friday, you should definitely get the fish fry (not the perch, just their house fish fry). It's fresh fish, battered to order. Super light but delicious, seriously can't beat it. I always heard Lakefront had the best fish fry, but Klinger's is so much better!

You need to know what you're getting with Klinger's. It's a local sports bar run by very nice people. I've been watching sports games here for nearly a decade and have always experienced kindness and welcome. That being said It's a bar first and a restaurant second. The food is good but you don't order a burger medium rare or well done; you order a cheeseburger and are given a burger made from a frozen patty that is cooked the same way every time. And in this case that's just fine.

We're from North Racine. So, we got here at 5pm as the four of us were all off today from work. Had the breaded mushrooms and cheese curds to start. Yum.
Then, went for the fish fry as suggested by a news feed I came across that featured Klinger's as one of the underated fish fry destinations in southeast Wisconsin.
Our server was great. Let us talk, took our order few minutes after we got our cocktails, and then had a few minutes to digest the appetizer before our fry. The perch were great. 4 great sized fillets. The ladies chose the Regular Fish and Jr. Fry's. My cousins husband took the ribs. We all high fived a great dinner was had. Not a big crowd, surprisingly. But certainly worth going back. And I'm an outdoorsman panfish connoisseur. Perch were a breaded style, which i think brings out the correct flavor of the freshwater panfish over batter, and the ladies fish were of a battered style. The Jr. is certainly a meal fit for flavor on a small stomach. Which was my cousins choice My tiny frame wife was hungry knowing I picked a new place for us to go. She did not disappoint the kitchen staff. My cousins husband chewed the bones awhile just to retain the delight. We all Cleaned our plates! Great fresh pumpernickel bread already buttered. Very satisfied with this evening's pick.
No offense to Klinger's. But a brewery is across the street where we finished off our evening with a little NCAA BBall. Maybe Klingers can adopt a brew to tap from their neighbors. Think that would be a greater collaboration as well as a sort of partnership!!
We'll be back!

Classic spot for a Milwaukee Friday Fish Fry. Great service, affordable food, and lovely atmosphere. They have potato pancakes too, which is how you know they are legit. Nice local beers as well. On of our favorite places for a Fish Fry.

Stopped in to take out the fish fry and wasn't disappointed. Some of the fluffiest rye bread I've ever gotten. Sides were all very good too and overall well priced. Great little place, looking forward to eating in here.

This is my favorite fish fry in Milwaukee! The fries are good, but you want the amazing potato pancakes, for sure. There are a variety of fish options and they all rock. Can't decide on one? Get the seafood platter it's great. Looking for a cheap burger on a Tuesday? This is the spot and if Frank is on the grill, even better.

The ambiance at Klinger's is pretty old school Wisconsin bar, but the fish fry was A++. There are several fish type options, including perch and shrimp, and all come with the option of potato pancakes, fries, or waffle fries. The fish came out crispy and well seasoned without being a, and the waffle fries were absolutely delicious. Come on Friday expecting a bit of a wait, as the dining area is small- but there's plenty of bar seating and you can get a drink while you wait.

MKE classic. Great fish fry. Good place to eat after Black Husky. Don't let the ugly front entrance stop you; inside is friendly, retro and fun. Great bar staff will tell you local stories. Parking next door in city lot.

This place is FANTASTIC. I was very surprised. I have lived in the area for many years and never stopped in. A friend of mine and I stopped in to try a fish fry. The bartenders, Roxy and Frank (?) were friendly and attentive. We both ordered the fish fry (pollock). It was only $9 and was way more than I could eat. The breading on the fish was very light, but crispy. It is a hidden gem in Riverwest!

A great little bar. I have always gone to Klingers for their Friday Fish Fry. Its my go to, and for good reason. They are fast and friendly, and offer several selections for any fish lover. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait, but i have never turned back to go somewhere else.

The single best fried fish in the city: light, sweet flavor, the flesh flaky and not soggy, the batter crisp and holding together without being tough. Enough food for a hungry person. The various potatoes are excellent, although the potato cakes are my favorite.

So sad they are closing and we just found them…had a great time at the “Worst Locust Street Festival” where we said goodbye to the owners of 47 years. Dave, Linda, and sue have become good friend and we look forward to seeing what the new owners will do. Thank you klingers for the great times these last few weeks.

One of the best fish fries in Milwaukee. Potato pancakes are amazing. I’ve lived in Milwaukee for 5 years and I’ve tried many fish fries in the area and this is my favorite by far.

A traditional tavern dining experience. The staff was super friendly, and the fish fry was great. The breading was a thin batter that protected perfectly cooked fish.
