Total Auto Repair

This is the only shop I will take my car too now. I’ve never had to wait too long for an appointment, the price is always fair, and everyone I’ve spoken with has been friendly and helpful every time. I always recommend it to friends.

Total Auto Repair changes the negative stereotype that comes with going to the Mechanic. They have exceptional customer service, incredibly honest, and not to mention fast at a fair price. I highly recommend going to Total Auto Repair for any of your car needs.

Had my car checked for brakes at Midas and was not aware of how much it would be because I have not had them done by a shop in years. Midas quoted me over $500 just for the rear brakes and rotors, so I held out to call around for more quotes. Another shop was $475, so I called Tom at Total Auto for my last quote figuring it would probably be similar. I chose to call them because of the reviews and they were right. Tom (owner) answered the phone and was courteous from the get go and quoted me pricing for my rear brakes. I was shocked at the price and how much less expensive and competitive it was. He even told me he could get me in the next day. I called him back to quote the front brakes as well since Midas said that they would need replacing within the next year. Tom told me that they would inspect them just to check and let me know. He did not try to upsell me at all on the call. I confirmed the appointment for the next day and told him to do both front and back because the price was less than Midas wanted just for my rear brakes. I was a little concerned because of the old saying of “you get what you pay for”. In this case it was wrong, the service from Tom and Total Auto was phenomenal. Courteous, informative, communicative and for a small shop, very clean and organized. My car was completed within 2 1/2 hours of dropping it off. As a previous reviewer mentioned, no grease or dirt on the floor or steering wheel in my car. My car breaks smooth! I will definitely be going back and recommend them for this service. Oh, and as a side note, Midas said my rear brakes were worse than my front. Tom said that was wrong and the fronts needed replacing first, glad he checked.

Both Tom and Adam were so helpful and pleasant. Not only did they save the day by squeezing my repairs in same day they are very well priced and customer service oriented. Most definitely my new go to shop when I need work done on my car. Thank you very much for everything Total Auto Repair.

I am a very big fan of this place and will not take my car anywhere else. I've taken two cars here in the last two years and the guys are always super polite and are able to get me in quickly. They call within 30 minutes with what they find and provide a quote. Their pricing is the most fair I've ever encountered. I know I can trust them and that they will be honest and not over charge me. I am so glad to have found this place. They have a customer in me for life!

As good as it gets in West Allis as far as I’m concerned. Took my vehicle in for brakes, oil change and tire rotation. First off, they got me in incredibly fast and were extremely helpful over the phone. After bringing the car in, they called me to explain that I wouldn’t need brakes and detailed how much life I had left on them. Typically, I’d expect a place would just go ahead with the repairs to make a quick dime.

Honest, fast, thorough and a good price.

I had called Tom, at Total Auto Repair to get my 2010 Kia looked at.
My wife was complaining of squeaking and knocking in the front end. I had called around to the previous car repair facilities that I had gone to the last two or three times for repairs. All the pricing I found was crazy expensive. I assumed I needed front struts. So that's what I was getting quotes on. My wife had told me about Total Auto Repair, she heard from a friend. I had never heard of them, I decided to call. First, I found them to be very polite and knowledgeable. Which is how it should be. They were able to squeeze me into their schedule with only a 3 day wait. Everywhere else was weeks or more. I'm finding that it's not because the organization is busy, they can't find any decent employees to work or they're just slow.
After dropping my wife's car off. About an hour later, they called me with what they had found. The struts were leaking but did not have to be replaced. Both lower ball joints were bad, and it appeared that the previous brake job I had done less than a year ago, had the wrong rotors & shoes in the front.
I don't have a lot of time and/or space to rant and rave about the other car repair facilities. Let's just say I will never go back any of those repair facilities again. In summary, the other facilities I had used for my car repair either overcharged me, used wrong parts for repair, or get your car filthy inside every time you take it there..
I was so pleased to be told the truth about the vehicle, I decided to get all the work done from Tom at Total Auto Repair. That included two front struts, ball joints, tie rod ends, front rotors, and shoes. Not only was I very excited about this quote, but they were able to do all the work that day. Drop it off at eight and picked it up at five.
Not only was the work done in a timely fashion, it was done properly the first time, the inside of my wife's car may have been cleaner when they got done. No greasy footprints on the floor, no greasy hand prints on the steering wheel and or inside driver's door. There pricing was fantastic.
I will be taking all three of my vehicles to Total Auto Repair in the future.

I have gone back to see Tom & the guys at Total Auto. This time I took my Toyota Camry to get tires. Fortunately I was able to get an appointment with in approximately a week, as these gentlemen stay pretty busy. After I dropped off my car in the morning, Tom called to let me know what he found. Which took me by surprise because I just was getting a set of tires. It seems that the last repair facility I had taken my Toyota to for tires stripped and/or ruined 3 of the studs. It was a real good thing I never got a flat tire. I don't know that I would've been able to remove the rim. This happens to be the same repair facility that I was complaining about above.

So after Tom & the guys fixed my damage studs, mounted my new tires, I was on my way. I will continue to use Tom & the gentleman at Total Auto. As far as the other repair facility, I don't know how they stay in business..

These guy's are great. Happy I live close by. They gave me their best price,witch was a good price I will send all my friends and family to their shop if they need work done. Honest mechanics and do a very good job. I'm happy that I got my car back in less then a day. Great customer service. Picked up and left the shop with a huge smile 😃

Knowledgeable staff who do honest work at an unbeatable price. I received quotes from 3 other shops for replacing my shocks/struts and this place was the most reasonably priced. I had to wait 4 days to get my car in for an available appointment, but that was a non-issue for me. I dropped my car off in the morning before work and they had it completed for me before the end of my work day. This shop was recommended by a friend and I will be using Total Auto in the future for my car repairs.

Tom and Adam were great. Honest and fair pricing. They replaced a rusted gas tank on an old, rusty vehicle. Very honest about the need to replace the fuel pump. Very happy to have taken my car to Total Auto Repair.

FOLLOW UP: I took a different car to Total Auto Repair recently. Same great service at a very fair price. They searched and found the axle part that I needed at a better price. They also diagnosed the issue very well. On top of that, I got a great set of Cooper tires at a great price. THANK YOU Tom and Adam!

Picked this repair shop on a whim when I first moved to the area a year and a half ago and haven't regretted it since! These fellas do excellent work, both quickly AND affordably. I can't recommend them enough. Easily the greatest mechanics I've ever been to.
Past mechanics have tended to bleed me dry; Total Auto Repair has saved me literally thousands of dollars on fast, dependable repairs.
Extra shout out to Tom, who is always friendly, patient, and accommodating.

Great people & service with reasonable prices!! As a woman, it's hard to find a mechanic and/or garage that doesn't "treat you like a woman". These guys are awesome & don't do that!! I will definitely be taking my business to them & send others as well!! Keep up the good work!!

Not sure why my other review is now missing it was a good one. I found these guys a few months before I moved out of town for a new job. 850 miles away. They have worked on several of my vehicles and when I am back in town I drive the vehicle to Milwaukee that needs work and have it fixed here. They have fixed problems that many others places could not figure out. Why? Because they want it fixed right the first time. Prices are in line or much cheaper than other places I have found. Most of the time cheaper never more expensive. I do not know why shops can't be more like this place. Hard to find honesty and integrity anymore with anybody and eventhough I can't take my vehicles here for everything I am still glad I gave them available when I am back in town.
